The school is working on an opportunity for the public to meet Coach Bradley.

Talked to a source in MP and reason Hamilton did not get the girls job is because there was no teaching positions available for what he is certified in... They were forced to hire someone who had a SPED certification..  Hamilton is certified in PE.. 

I was told this wasn't true. There were several openings. Hamilton didn't even get an interview.

I was told today that MP submitted a coach to the director of schools a week ago. He is the one who has to do the hiring. MP administration is out of it.

I don't think this schedule can be changed by the new coach. I believe this is the same schedule as last year but the home team will be on the road this year.

The Jim Hamilton is Judge Hamilton's son. His son does go to CA. Did he apply for the MP job? I heard he is a finalist for the CA job and also the Summertown boys job. With all of the interest he is getting I would think MP would have gotten him. Maybe they just wanted a lady.

I have heard about the guy from Gulf Shores. He has a great program and goes to the state every year. They must have really reached out to get his interest. 

The athletic director met with parents and team members last Thursday and explained the entire hiring process to them. He said that over 80 had applied for the job. They are supposed to be doing the interviews this week and hope to have a coach confirmed sometime next week. He said they cannot release any names but did say that they have had applicants from 7 different states. They are interviewing those who can teach in the positions they think may be available.

Jessica Russell accepted the position last Friday.

 

I could careless if he ever gets punished but if a player does what SH adminstration said this player done then Yes he should be punished the next game if not the remainder of the season. Like I said before I'm glad he played so CA could beat them with him on the court!

First, it is obvious that you do care if he gets punished. You said he should be out for the season. Second, it is very disappointing if the administration from any school discussed a private matter concerning a child. That is very unprofessional. Third, just because a student is accused of something doesn't mean he did it. Fourth, he did play against CA. I think he came in the game sometime during the second quarter. He was not effective at all.

CA beat MP. MP couldn't make easy buckets around the rim. I thought MP played very good defense. That was evident from the fact that CA's leading scorer didn't even score. How often does that happen? But in the end CA did beat MP. That's why you play the game. CA was the better team that night.

Mt Pleasant played well against Summertown?

And what are you basing that on? I've seen most of the MP games this year. I didn't think they played well at all against Summertown either time. You may say Summertown caused that, but they didn't play well.

Why should he have been punished? Do you know something the rest of us don't? I've watched the MP coach for about 10 years. I don't believe he would play a kid who didn't deserve to play, regardless of who they are playing.

He didn't play the 2nd half against SH for some reason? I guess nothing happened but MTP just decided they didn't need him in the 2nd half of that game.quote]

He didn't play the second half at Spring Hill. Why does that mean he shouldn't play in the next game?

Apparently MP does discipline Mr. Santa Fe.

That was the girls game. MTP beat Cully boys 48-43. I think MTP scored the last 9 points.

i don't know who coaches mtp....but i do not there historically (last 4-5 years) rely on athletes, and they usually do not seem to be very disciplined...i would say that is on the coach.

Coach Boyd is still there. Seems like he was voted coach of the year in district 12A several times by the other coaches. Who should they rely on?

That "fake" was a player interpreting the wrong call, and it was the 2nd string in throwing the ball. Just thought you might want to know.

That's a convenient answer. Maybe Giles County misinterpreted the call too.

As predicted a 3TD win for the Bobcats. 42-21

 

The last score by giles was not priceless;........but "classless".

Less than 3 minutes to go and giles is up by 14.

SH has just turned the ball over on downs at about mid field and is down to 1 time out.

giles runs the flea flicker for the their last score.

 

padding stats and points doesn't impress anyone.

 

1st half 21-21. One of the most exciting first halfs of football i've seen in a long time.

I guess when Spring Hill scored late against MP and even ran a fake on the extra point was just part of the game. They were up three scores at the time. Unbelievable!!!

SH was the better team last night but I stand by my original post. Good luck next week.

They are 0-2 so far without even playing a region game. They lost to 2 single A teams, Mt. Pleasant and Collinwood.

I played for Columbia Academy, they ran the score up on us a few times(which i really dont have a problem with, if we cant stop em its our fault) and watched a lot of film watching them do it. But i just thought it was a bit ironic how someone would comment on someone running up the score on them.

Apparently you saw more games than I have then. So MP shouldn't have done it. Neither should SH. Have a great day!

why dont all you mt. pleasant fans go back and look up some of the scores from your past few seasons....have yall not run up the score a few times? yes...and NOW your complaining about it? wow.

I'm not a MP fan. Just someone who lives in Maury County who wanted to see a good ballgame. If MP did that to other schools they were wrong too. Unless you were at the games how do you know they ran up the score? Maybe they just beat people really bad early in the game. I don't know. I wasn't at every game. But the ones that I saw they usually won early.

Are you sure you where there? SH did not run hurry up in the last minute. With that Ref, who could. . Both teams huddle, break huddle, come to the line and wait on him to blow his whistle. GEEZ that guy was slow!!

 

At the end SH ran the ball every play, with freshmen running backs.

That is Class. Not SH's problem if MtP subs can't stop SH subs.

Actually it was 32-13 at the time. I was there. Didn't hurry up? The team was lined up when the official put the ball in play. That is a "No-Huddle" offense. I agree they ran the ball, probably with freshmen. But going into a huddle before each play uses about 20 seconds. SH didn't run the no-huddle the whole game. Used it against the subs. Don't get so upset. But that is not class. By the way, get your clock fixed. Did you not realize you were playing at home?

 

"Honestly" SH did not play very well tonight...........but they still won 38-13. (MtP last score was against subs)

I went to this game out of curiosity. Thought it would be the best game in the area. Game was tied at 7 with about 4 minutes to go in the first half and MP had the ball in SH territory. MP fumbled. SH drove down and scored. It actually took about 15 minutes with all of the clock problems. That fumble totally changed the game IMO.

But I want to address the quote above. Yes the score was against subs. But who do you think was playing for MP with under 1 minute to go when SH scored. In fact, SH ran a no huddle offense on that last drive. Very disappointed to see that. The game is won. Show some class.

I hope the two kids injured for MP aren't too serious. Good luck to both teams.

One thing that is disturbing.....Lewis county one year gone ex. asst. coach (Now head coach of Loretto..and who's brother in law is the coach at MTP) sitting up in the press box and calling defensive plays etc. for MTP against the kids he coached tells you alot about his character. The kids on Defense didn't have a clue....but were always in the right place . Maybe he is wanting a job in MTP.

Just curious, did you see that coach calling defensive plays or are you just assuming it was happening because the two coaches are related? It isn't difficult to know what LC is doing. They've done the same thing for years. Since they have beaten MP for several years is it possible the MP coaches figured it out?

What change do you want? Someone to take a program that has NEVER won and make them a champion? I'm sure they want that at MP too. How many championships have the junior high girls won during that time? There has to be some talent and community support to win. I don't think a girls sport in MP has ever won anything? Correct me if I am wrong. Apparently they can't hire anyone who can coach!!!
