  1. DEAD HORSE PATROL here!!!

Sportie, G, and all others, this topic has been exhausted on here and throughout the county. Please let it go.

The 04-05 Unaka Lady Rangers and Elizabethton Lady Cyclones both have very good teams and on any given night the winner probably couldn’t cover a 3-5 point spread. These girls have grown up wandering and guessing who is better and hoping to be the best in this county. This is probably best left as is for all to ponder thru their golden years.

This level of competition would do both teams well before tourney time but neither would want to lose and be distracted this time of year. Let’s all support the talent we have in Carter County and hope to see both teams March 12, 2005 in Murfreesboro. I know the tourney begins on the 9th but the GOLD BALL will be awarded on the 12th.

    Good Luck Carter County thumb

PS: Bleacher good point about the coaching in middle school

  2. GLee

"My other thoughts are, with no disrespect for Baughman or Redd, I think Betsy just might be a better team next year and the year after. We'll just have to wait to see on that one."

I have to disagree, they both have a lot of floor time and heart that can't be taught. It must be earned. And the biggest reason to disagree is they lose one Heck of a coach, COACHH who has been with these girls since TAD. I don't mean to knock Wilson but just look at their record with Farthing on board vs without.

However, you said it best. thumb Good luck to the Rangers and the Cyclones. thumb

  3. Football??

How many of these girls play for Unaka?

UH don's have a Football Team, do they?

    Guys this iis not AOL!

Storm, spend the $12.00 and get a Plus Membership and you can talk football year round.

K'rich hope you get better soon and get to cover all the games.

    Thanks for your support! thumb

  4. Storm,

First I think Matt has done an excellent job with that program and should be in the drivers seat next year.

Back to the game at hand, Unaka’s guard with the ball had not missed a foul shot (matter of fact I don’t think she had missed anything), fouling her was a mute point. The Landers played great and was in the game all night with a very good ball club. Maybe keeping it close and planning for future games could be another thought.

Remember the boy’s game last year when Unaka’s boys had a 12 point lead in the 4th and shot their self out of the game. I didn’t agree with the coach then and thought that was stupid. Ranting and raving about it would not have changed anything, except making me look like a fool in March as the parade came through town. Something about seeing the forest for the trees?

    Just an option. thumb

  5. Congrats to all the Lady Rangers thumb

That was a great game and one of the best the Lady Rangers have played all year.

CPA is physical at the guard position. "They warm-up riding each other as they shot lay-ups" Literally

MVP Renee Ensor really stepped up and played tough.

Renee proved to be like a Timex "took a licking and kept on ticking".

    Great Job Ladys!!! :justwrestle:

  6. I don't know who all went to this tourney but I thought this was one of the worst officiating tournaments I have ever observed. It is sad when officials want to be "seen", want to "run" the show, and wants to be "Billy-Bad-???" in front of the crowd. There were a couple of teams who really got the shaft from the officiating crew during the tourney.

How many officails did they use per game, 2 or 3?

In years past all they have used during the regular season is 2.

2 during non conference games is one thing, but during conference games and/or tourneyments 3 would be nice. (May be a money thing)

Most of the games I have seen in Greene County one would believe the officials have a differnet rule book not TSSAA.

Regardless a team/coach must make adjustments to the game and play with what they have, Good-Bad-Indifferent. :)

  7. This is like the day after thanksgiving in the retail world. Everyone has had their Turkey and ready for some round ball. As mentioned in other threads CoachT has a good thing going and on this the day could probably use our help. As you confirm the final scores lets all try to keep him updated.

    Good Luck to All!!! thumb

This season is getting shorter by the game.

  8. We simply cannot get to nearly as many games and events as we feel necessary to offer a "complete" product. The "Weekly," and sometimes even bi-weekly printing forces us to provide more overview, rather than the here-and-now. {Although overview is my role in this, with print we lack the personnel and logistics to stay current}.

What is the web address for DP?

  9. Look, ill be the first to admit that refs in our area play favorites against visiting teams from other parts of the state, but the fact of the matter is that it would of been the same if it would have been one of our teams playing and dealing with other officials, everyone will have there share of ''home cookin'' this year but your teams have to deal with it, obviously unaka wasnt good enough to overcome this and lost to the lady bulldogs. im from pickett co. and huge bobcats fan, and it was good to see clay co. represent district 7a well in our thanksgiving classic, good job lady bulldogs.

Congrats to Clay Co. on the win you girls played hard and deserved it. As for Unaka they need to learn how to play when the officials call things differently than they may be a custom to. I’ll let the “catS and Dawg” workout the problems in the kitchen.
