3. how many teams advance in each region?

My understanding is that 1 team from each of the 4 sections advances. Each section is composed of 2 regions ( section 1 = regions 1&2 and so on).

Think that Section 3 (regions 5/6) teams are Page/FRA from Region 5 and MLK/East Literature from region 6.

Anyone know how four qualifying teams will be seeded at Dual Championships in Clarksville?

  4. Irish fans, I think you're dreaming. I don't have an affiliation with either Ryan or MBA. Think both schools have great programs. Just don't think Ryan matches up well against MBA this year.

Pick some weight classes and do the math.

    Here's my fearless forecast.

    103 - Francis (MBA) takes Rosa®

    112 - Sutter (MBA) takes Griffith ®

    119 - Simpson (MBA) takes Sloan ®

    125 - Marchetti® over Bellet(MBA)

130 - Todd (MBA) over Weakley ® - Beat at Ryan Invit.

    135 - Herron(MBA) over Benito® - beat at Ryan Invit.

    140 - McKeithen (MBA) - Negri ® - Could go either way

    145 - Bellet(MBA) over Miller®

152 - Hall (MBA) over Goodrum® - beat at Ryan Invit.

    160 - Snyder (MBA) over Mix ®

171- Tate (MBA) over Hegarty ®

189 - Jacques (MBA) over Riley ® Could be diff if Bateman in for Ryan

    215 - Dempsey ® over Swett (MBA)

    275 - Riley(MBA) over Garrett® - beat at Ryan Invit.

MBA should hold Ryan under 20 points without much trouble.

It things fall MBA's way, it could be real embarrassing for Fr. Ryan.

  5. Notre Dame dominated Hixson last night 51-15 after beating East Ridge 48-20 on Wednesday.

Hixson, East Ridge, McMinn Central and Notre Dame will meet next week in the Section 2 Duals(regions 3 & 4) with the winner advancing to the A/AA state dual meet in Clarksville on February 4th.

Looks like ND is heading to the A/AA State Duals.

160- Patrick Fynn (ND) dec. Coleach Holmes 8-6

171- Matt Haydek (ND) dec. Alex Apyan 9-4

189- Eric Phipps (ND) dec. Alex Mitchell 12-9

215- Ian Meredith (ND) pinned Will Davis :54

Hwt- Brian Goode (Hix) pinned Evan Souther 2:20

103- Tee Boone (ND) pinned Cole Stephens 1:45

152- Micheal Reed (Hix) won by forfeit

  6. The new handbook (available online at TSSAA site) has no such requirement. My understanding is that the new weight certification guidelines replaced the old "half of your matches" rule.

If you have been in compliance with new weight cert. program, you can wrestle at the region in whatever weight class you are elligible for, regardless of whether you have previously wrestled at that weight this season. At State you have to wrestle in the weight class in which you qualified at the regions.

Let the rule experts confirm or correct my understanding.

  9. Tennessean says Page won 45-35 but when I add up score I get 42-38.

Either way Page wins. Looks like a pretty quick match. Only one decision entire match.

  10. Franklin Road Academy Wins A/AA Championship

The FRA Panthers outdueled the E-Town Cyclones for the A/AA Championship winning with a score of 53 to 79. Both teams gave a total effort

Cyclone Josh Jaynes placed 1st followed by FRA's Russell Rodewald. Jaynes beat Rodewald by about 15 seconds. Not sure on the time since the race clock showed 16:13 when Jaynes finished but during awards the winning times were announced as about 30 seconds faster. Will have to wait for official results.

FRA had 4 runners medal in the top 15 (2,6,13,14) while Elizabethton had 3 runners medal ( 1,10,12).

As predicted, the 4-5 runners determined the race. FRA's 5th runner finished 18th while the Cyclones 4 & 5th runners finished 26 and 30th. FRA's 6th runner finished ahead of E-town's 4th and 5th runners.

Running conditions were ok but not great. Temperature was about 75 with pretty strong breezes.

Congratulations to both FRA and Elizabethton for a great race and season.

  12. do u run A/A?...would u like a skeet taste? id be more than happy to give it to u.

etownrunnercc: Your trash talk is out of line when you use language like "skeet taste" ( lingo for oral sex). Keep reference to your privates out of this public forum.

  13. What districts and regions are CAK and FRA in?

    825668973

CAK is Region 2, District 3

FRA is Region 6, District 11

Here's my understanding of the state brackets for CAK and FRA:

If they both win or are both runner-ups in their regions, they will only meet at the State Finals.

If one of them is regional runner-up and other winner, they will meet at State Semi-Finals

Got to make it to Regionals finals first.

    Good luck to both.

  14. BigGExpress:

That's my understanding. Only the district winner and runner-up advance to the Regional Semi-Finals. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

By the way, FRA did win last night. 7-2 over DCA. Score was 7-1 at half.

Should be a great game Thursday night. CPA versus FRA. Both have strong teams. 7pm at Trevecca.

  15. You may be mistaken about who gets four qualifiers next year.

Region 4 if you count Notre Dame earned 15 medals

New Region 6 also had 15 medals

    Region 3 had 14 medals

Surely Region 6 will get 4 qualifiers since ND had 10 Division 2 medals.

    825581238

cchulk: In an earlier posting, Ronnie Carter is said to have agreed that Notre Dame will get to take credit for its Division 2 medals when determining which region gets 4 spots next year. That's what part of the uproar is about.
