I love Hampton, but they've not played defense all year, not saying they got what they deserved

because they've had a great year. If this don't wake them up, one and done in playoffs.

How did it go? Did they do anything different? Any new coaches? How many players do they have out?

I watched Oneida play at Hampton in the playoffs a couple years ago, as i was talking to an Oneida fan he was telling me that the sorta tall guy on the sidelines was coach before Tony Lambert, Is he the new coach now or is it someone else. If not who was the tall guy? Is TL coming back as an assistant, sounds like a tight knit staff, sorta like Hampton's. Hope these two teams can schedule again, I really think both teams fans and coaches like each other and pull for each other.

Maybe you misunderstood what I said. I never said they would win anything and didn't make any predictions. Hampton's defense is what made Wartburg look like a different team in just a few days...

If Hampton shoots the ball like they are capable they could very well be playing on Saturday, probably against Clarkrange. If thry get that far look out their confidence level will be so high.

Where is Cornersville located? You have a nice record, tell us about your team> What kind of size? Do they play full court or halfcourt? Can they shoot the 3? What kind of schedule did you play? Have you ever been to state tournament before? I think Hampton is a better team because of their injuries, this created a lot more depth.

What does Hampton have as far as size and caliber of players? They are obviously pretty good or they wouldn't be at state.

Hampton is small, and very athletic, they can all handle the ball and can all shoot. Lots of pressing and trapping, will not let you play a halfcourt team. All I've heard is Clarkrange will win it all and they may very well do that, but Hamton is a team that nobody wants to plat right now.

I'm simply too emotionally attached to say much for now, other than that, especially considering all the other factors, I'm extremely disappointed with the decision.

 

The players gathered to protest the decision to the school Principal, and desired to approach the Superintendent

with their complaints. I'm not aware of the exact reactions/comments, if any, from either.

 

Coach Chambers simply said that he wished only the very best to the players.

 

But you're right: There's much more to this most-unfortunate situation.

ANY TRUTH TO COACH CHAMBERS MAY GO HELP MATT BIRCHFIELD AT CLOUDLAND?

In district 1 class a, what happens if Hampton wins out and Grace beats cosy and you have a 3 way tie?

Also district 1 Class AA, HV , GP and cumberland Gap could be a 3 way tie, what's the seeding?

I'm going to name one from each school so a lot og great players will be left out.

Wayne Ellis, why not, he has been JV coach for 5-6 years,if he is not good enough to be head coach then shouldn't be Jv coach. Wayne is a good guy and a good coach but might not be in the right clique. I think he deserves a shot at it.

Rumor has it, they he will take one of the Morristown jobs. AD Kieth turner just might appoint himself headcoach and bring a former east tennessee head coach with him as assistant. Just a rumor.

i was sure they had a teaching degree and had coached.

The best football coach at cloudland is Randy birchfield, don't know if he would consider it, but he would be the best choice.

Moist people on here are just having fun, but some seem to be way too serious. Let the players play, both teams are well coached and neither usually lose when they have the best team, someone will lose and the other may very well be state champs next week. i think this site adds fuel to the fire and puts extra pressure to coaches and players, this site could probably get a lynch mob after a coach. let's just hope it's a good game, no one gets hurt. Everyone left has a good team and at this point sometimes the best team don't always win, sometimes a costly turnover or penalty or even a bad call could get a team beat. Trousdale has speed, coaching and tradition, Hampton has strength, coaching, a little speed, mot much tradition as far as state semifinals go. Hope the dogs can hang around and make something happen late.

Forget this MVP junk, those $8.00 pieces of hardware has ruined many teams, maybe it's time to forget all tournament and MVP awards and get back to basketball being a team sport. I think a coach should vote for the player that played best against his or her team. That is if we have to have these awards. #### for Playing Eliz. most years the county schools have held their own in basketball, but this year the cyclones have a dream team and the county schools were all rebuilding. As for football cloudland might compete but sheer numbers would probably wear them down.I'm swallowing a lot of pride but maybe we should support the cyclones in the state, now that's not going to happen but eliz is carter county and we should support them over hamilton or some other county.

Let's face it, coaches play a role in the success of a team, but having good talent will make you a better coach versus having average talent. On the other hand all the coaches you guys have been talking about are good and deserve the recognition.

Not much on here about the Bucs!!! Lets give them and Coach Dechillis the credit they deserve. Probably end up playing a number 1 seed but how many teams out there would like to be in their shoes.

Hoosiers and Fastbreak. Does anyone out there have a copy of Fastbreak, I would love to have a copy of it and no video store carries it.

Look out for the Lady Dogs in the district tournament. They were one foul shot away from beating unicoi, and was up by 6 on cloudland late in the game. They are young and could lose the first game or they could win it all. Coach Campbell does a great job and has them playing extremely hard.

The Falcons was outstanding in this game, if they play like taht against the cyclones they have a chance especially at home. Usually in games like this one team is usually not as good as they looked and the other not as bad as they looked, but at least on this night volunteer was great. They are certainly a top 3 team in the conference maybe higher, my hats off to them.
