  1. Camden travels to Clarksville for the first time. Will it be a let down game for Camden after a very emotionally and physically draining win against Huntingdon or do the Lions continue to roll?

    L4E,

One correction, brudda' on the "...for the first time."

We beat MCHS up there, 25-7 in 2001. They ran our opening kick back & their stadium announcer called us "Candum" all night!

They came back to Wright Field the next year & put it to us 30-14, but we have made the trip, just not it a good while!

    GO LIONS!

  2. Congrats to the Lions on a big District road win over a tough Stewart County team! The Rebs never stopped hitting! Camden is going to put a complete offensive game together up to their potential & smoke somebody HUGE!

Congrats to Coach Kevin Ward & his staff for setting a victory milestone. An admirable mark for a hard working & first class "team" of coaches. There isn't much ya'll can't do. Nothing but the best for all of you!

Advisor: The pizza was great. Quick, hot, tasty...affordable! It WILL be a regular stop in the future.

    GO LIONS!

  3. We are fortunate to have a class act like Camden as a measuring stick. The Rebels have played tougher each year and this game will be very interesting. This is probably the overall best team that the Rebels have had over the last several years.

Camden is always tough and disciplined and we are looking forward to a great game!

    Hey Prez,

What % is SC passing the ball? Are they going to be land-based this year, or throwing it around the lot?

  4. Good luck to both teams. We will have to have the monsoon flood, or it wouldn't be Dover, right? It might come down to which team is the best "mudder"...

    :roflol:

I look forward to a great game! We should learn something about both teams & the remainder of the season.

Advisor: Thanks for the tip on the grub, will check them out...hmmm, pizza? sub? gotta' decide...

  5. I know Coach Graves wants to. Lions4ever, it doesn't scare Waverly to play you or Lewis. You have to play better to get better. That's Coach Graves' philosophy. We don't play cupcakes like Stewart County does to pad our record. Now according to what I've been told, the region Waverly will be in will consist of Waverly, SC, Houston County, Montgomery Central, Creek Wood, Sycamore, Cheatham County, Fairview and Harpeth. Essentially the basketball district. Now I know that Camden has petitioned to be in this region so they could get out of the West Tn. region. But I don't know if that's been granted. We'll know in the middle of November. ddaddy, if Coach can get the game, it will be played, it's a good game for both as far as competition and gate wise.

    PT,

That sure does sound better than driving to Jackson or Bolivar to play all of our games! IMHO, it seems like TSSAA is about one meeting away from really messing this up!

Go Tigers, win your homecoming game!

  6. Naw, I'm with Rcombs on this one. The 'Stangs find a way even way on up there in a foreign land far away.

Maybe only by one, but I think they will find a way...

EITHER way, best of luck to both squads. Could be one of the best games of the Region Friday!

    /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  7. Hope the Lions will come out focused & play ball from the kickoff Friday. Was proud of the quick start against Westview, but I really think Westview might be down a little, enough that the HC game injuries REALLY took a toll.

Was also proud of the way they closed the WV game out! A lot of times, it seems like we have a team down, have a hold of their "throat" and can't finish it...penalties, fumbles, interceptions... Give 'em a shot at getting one last score, or making it a game.

I still am looking forward to seeing the 2008 Lions play a complete game against a team that comes to the door with it all loaded up. I really think that HHS is going to be ready to play this game. This is a chance for the 'Stangs to "right" their year & shrug off a "fluke" McK loss...Sudden Recovery.

    Got REGION CHAMPIONSHIP?

  8. Page 27 of the 2008 Camden Lions Media guide has the Lions "All-Time" record against all of our opponents including WV, and page 55 has the year by year results...

Pretty good stuff for $10, if you love it like I do!

Should be a good game, maybe no rain to get in the middle of our offense this week!

    /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    GO LIONS! Beat WESTVIEW!

    Hmmmm...Snappys or Dragon Buffet...anybody got a coin?

  9. We also have a very tastefull chinese resturant thats pretty cheap(30% off) supper and 50% off lunch.

We have a place called micheals too if you want steak or chicken or something along them lines /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

    and plenty of mexican places..

Desportsguy: I think that was 30-12 Westview.

WHS4life: Thanks for thinking of my WALLET, but I am workin' on my BELLY!

    /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Thanks for the thought...where would YOU go pre-game? Never been up that way & hopin' to hit a home run in the chow line...

Thanks again for any help you might be able to offer!

  10. Punisher, I am SO surprised at your pick!

    /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

Go Lions, play hard! Bring back a non-Region win over Westview! Hope it's a great game with no injuries.

Now the important stuff: Where is the best pre-game vittles? Come on, Martin fans, clue us in on the best stop before we get to the game!

    /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  11. Really? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Please tell me your joking! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

    Nahh...I think he's a joke-ER.

Should be a great game! All of us in Camden are looking forward to the outcome.

OBTW on Mr. Haney: Had the pleasure of meeting him & his wife at a Milan round ball game. Was truly a one-of-a-kind. We are all worse off for his passing, but can set our goals to just be some percentage of him.

  12. Actually here is the series information:

Current Camden has won 8 of last 9 including the last 4 games.

    Biggest win Waverly 45-0 (1997) Camden 54-6 (1991)

    Largest Margin Waverly 45 points 45-0 (1997) Camden 48 points 54-6 (1991)

Interesting how it runs in streaks.

    PapaT,

Great job on the stats! The Camden records differ slightly...if you are at the game Friday, look at (or around!) page 26 of the program & let me know where our records differ. I would love to get the stats to agree, if we can!

    Thanks!
