The MVP from 8AAA has to come from Columbia but the big question is who???
Janey Armstrong-Has to be the best post player in the District and Top5-10 in state
Alex Ross-Floor General,Pure Shooter. has real good Basketball Knowledge.
Nancy Moore-Defensive Beast! Scoring is down, but scores when she has to and has took on the role as the defensive stopper.
Deandrea Bullock-Has a great inside/outside game. She has great post move and can shoot the 3 at a good %. She is also a rebounding machine
I have to say 1 of these 4 will win MVP, but I can't see a clear cut winner. All 4 are MVP's in my mind!

I wouldn't say she is underrated. Whenever they play, she has 2 or 3 people around her whenever she gets the ball. I have been watching her play for a while. Whenever she gets the ball in the paint, it is 2 pts and she is a rebounding machine. She plays with a lot of emotion, but what good players don't? She may let it get out of hands at some times, but Coach Moore is the type of coach who can step in and get her calm back down. In way,I can say she doesn't get the ball enough, but when you got a team like Columbia's with Armstrong, Bullock, Ross, Moore, Pillow, and Owens, who can all give you 10-20 pts a night, some of them 6 players are not going to get the ball as much as some people think. They have a 23-2 record and that means they are doing something right by losing them 2 by only 6 pts. Keep beasting Janey and keep winning and doing what you do Columbia. See you at the STATE!

This was a very impressive scoring game for these 2 players. Micah Williams let people know he was the real deal last night. He was scoring at will. When ever he want to score,he did. It got to be hard putting up the numbers he is this season and still losing. He has NO help. Zac Walker was lights as well. If you gave him a little room last night, he would put it in your grill. It was a very good game to see.

I know Columbia is not playing well, but good teams always find a way to win. But they have to start playing better, no doubt.
As for officiating, Columbia post players got fouled alot in the game, and it wasn't called.Grosse and Cossey flop more than a fish out of water. One call or one no call dosen't beat you.
I agree with you 100% on that. The play at the end ofthe 4th quarter was not as bad as they are making it sound. Nancy had her hand on top of the ball and the girl who was shooting did a good job of acting to try and get the foul. Don't put this game on the refs. Columbia got fouled just as much as Coffee Co., they just got over it and keep playing ball. Coffee Co. play one heck of a game. #33 was shooting the lights out. I was very pleased with there play, but Columbia just has to much fire power. But they need to start playing the whole game like they do in the 4th quarter to go a long way againist the Mt. Juliet's and teams of that nature.

Dequan Twilley is,IN MY OPINION, the best point in the mid-state and one of the best in the state. He can hurt you in so many ways. But, you can't by no means leave out JP Prince, Richard Delk, and Willie Kemp. They are top 3 easy. and I think Mack Gardner would round out my top 5.
-
I seen some stats on her and they look pretty good. I seen her first game and she put up 25pts and 10 reb easy. She has no help and I think she would have been better off at Shelbyville with Rick. He would have made her "great"
-
I have heard alot of hype surrounding Latoya from Community High School. Is she the real deal or not?
-
This should be very interesting game. Shelbyville will be hard to beat at home. If Lincoln Co. plays ball and not worry about never beating them in the past, I think they will win this game.
I'm going on a limb and picking Lincoln Co. by 3.
-
I will put them 4 up against any other 4 and doubt if they lose.
-
Columbia has 3 girls who could be in the top 10-15 easy in Janey Armstrong(double-double machine, beast on the block), Deandrea Bullock(can get to the free-throw line whenever she wants to when she plays down and can shoot the 3 at a high percent) and Alex Ross(floor general, pure shooter, creates shoots for others). They also have a sleeper in Jessica Pillow(true point gaurd, takes the ball to the rack very well and creates well). These 4 to go along with Jana Cross and Brandi Brown are 6 of the 10 in which I have seen play in person. I think Brandi Brown would be my number 1 because she can do so much on the court.

In the Lion's Den and after a long road trip will the Lady Lions be able to overcome the scrappy (injury plagued) Maplewood team?
I think the Lady Lions will win this pretty easy with Maplewood's star player down. The Lions have Janey out for this game, but Owens will take up her spot on the block and do just fine.
COLUMBIA BY 15.

Excuse me, everyone who is putting shelbyville(6-7) in the top ten, I have one question to ask you ,WHY? What have they showed you so far THIS YEAR to even make you think they should be in the top 30? I have seen them play twice this year againist Columbia and Mt. Juliet, real top ten teams and what did they do,NOTHING!
AAA Top Ten:
2)Oakland
4)Columbia
9)Heritage
After Mt. Juliet,I think the next 9 could be seated in any position, but this is how i felt they went.

Justin was in foul trouble with 2 early fouls in the 1st q. But he looked good in the second half with some good defense and key shots. He is a good all around player.
This was a game almost the same as the 2003 game at giles when they went to over time. Tyler took over when they was down late and scored plus created other shots for his teammates. He is the real deal. And bad because he had 31 pts and he didn't play like he can. GREAT GAME.
To Columbia's coach, you have 2 fouls to give, and there is 10 seconds left, instead of letting them dribble all the way down court, why not use your fouls??? you told them don't foul and back off. A player like Tyler will make you pay for that and he did!

I know you can't judge a team by what they do in pre-season scrimmages but this has to be the worst Shelbyville team I've ever seen.
I agree with you on that! Rick is a good coach, but if he can take this team to the state, then i will say that he is the best coach ever!
-
I agree with you about that. Shelbyville shocked me this weekend. They are the pre-season #11 team in the nation. Rick has a task on his hand this year. Columbia is going to be a state contender if they play every game and don't get lazy. With Janey Armstrong in the mix, she has made a big boost in the paint with Bullock. Nancy has to watch her foul trouble. Coffee Co. should have a nice team this year. Have not heard much about them.
-
After seeing some of these teams play, what do yall think? Columbia has to be the front runner and Shelbyville is not looking strong at all, but you can never count them out! What does everone think??????????????????????????????
-
The girls looked real good this weekend. They jump out on everyone early and made them play catch up the whole game. Janay was really impressive on the block. DeAndrea was also battling on the block and lived at the free-throw line. Alex and Jessica was doing a good job of setting up the offense and creating shots for themselves, as well as others. Nancy had a pretty good day. Here defense was there,as always, and her offense came and went. Latreia and Rachael will be key coming off the bench. Latreia really impressed me by her play. Columbia is going to be a nice force this year.
The point for Wilson Central(#32) really impressed me as well. She could get to the basket whenever she need to and created shoots for her teammates. she made the game look so easy.

Coach Graves should be on the hot seat if they don't have a good season this year! I played at columbia and last season was the worst i have every seen and it wasnt because the talent went down. Graves needs to open up and talk to coach collie to see how he was so sucessful. They have a good team this and will compete for the district championship. I'm Class of 03, yall need to get back to where we was, having a winning program! 03, state bound!!!!!
-
Who are some of the top players in the district this year?????
-
GX270,unless you are Jamont or you are up at oak hill with him,how are you going to get on hear and talk as this crap! You are doing the same thing you are saying we are doing! If you cant talk like you got some since, just don't say nothing at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I think the district looks like this:
1. Coffee Co.
2. Shelbyville
3. Columbia
4. Tullahoma
5. <a href='http://www.coacht.com/inside/team.cfm?SchoolID=151&SportID=3' target='_blank'>Franklin Co.</a>
6. Lawrence Co.
7. Lincoln Co.
Does Coffee Co have a hidden secret or something? with the team they had last year and the ones coming back, I just don't see them on top of the district! I see their peak position at #3. This year it will be Shelbyville and Columbia at the #1 and #2 spot. WINGMAN, are you taiking about Justin Bullock of Columbia? If so, he does have game. He will be right in the hunt for MVP as well!
-
JUCO route??? I hope you are saying that because of his grades! With Rivers being out, Jamont will get his time to shine and he will! He will go D-1 basketball ball skill wise, but grades will be the ONLY reason he goes JUCO.
who would win if they play in state

This would be a very good game to see in the 1st round of the state, which stinks because it should be the game for the gold ball. If they both take care of business, i will be there front row. The battle in the post between Clark and Armstrong would be a sight to see. Im not gonna pick a winner now just wait for the game!
