  1. DCTIGERFAN.

I am a long time member, seldom post.  Read a lot and like most things I read on here about all teams. Yet everytime is see your avatar and read your posts I cant help but think you must be a real jerk.  These last posts on the WC Smyrna thread... Im just tired of it.

By posting these predicted scores on here, your actually pointing out that your beloved dekalb county tigers would also get smoked by smyrna 100 to 7 or 60-7 or whatever.  Seems you forgot that the tigers barely got by Warren County by coming back late and winning by 7 or 9 pts.

So lets make sure everybody knows that Dekalb would get beat by Smyrna by as much as Smyrna wants to beat them by ok.  Yes I know Dekalb is not playing Smyrna but I'm pretty sure everybody on here is tired of your stupid statements and your trolling and your giving your less than 2 cents worth to every topic in middle tennessee.  Please just keep your opinions to Dekalb county business or at least when you do make a comment,  make an effort to be less of a smart !@#$% when you make comments about another team.  I think everyone on her would appreciate it.

  2. I say DeKalb is 24-2 overall and 13-0 in district including the tourney so umping is no excuse.

Yeah and if it happened to dekalb like it happened to LA you'd be on here complaining too. The umpire behind the plate definatley squeezed the zone and didnt have the guts to make the obstruction call that would have put an L on your tigers resume...I even heard some of your fans saying that it should have been called. And Yes the the umpire behind the plate for the Upperman and LA was inconsistent but LA hit the ball and Baxter didnt... and NO the first baseman was not even close to the bag so dont even start on that one.

  3. I've been a member of this board a LONG time and rarely post but I have to say I've never seen a school's fans COMPLAIN, WHINE AND DO MORE WHINING about refs like Livingston. Win or lose...the refs are out to get them...

Geez...you guys are sounding like bitter bettys...

I am not a LA or Upperman or Pickett or Clay fan. The fact is that Wheaton made several bad calls in both championship games and if he is going to get emotional about being questioned about his calls, then he doesn't need to be calling any post season games.

Also if you look at my status - Probably about 43 post now - and Ive been a member a long time as well - i think you - wingman -got me by about 3 months - I dont mouth off on here either and seen a ton of games but have not seen an official be as sensative about a coach questioning his call and also carry out his emotion agaisnt a team like he did against LA.

  4. For some reason or another... Wheaton was allowed to call the 7a district championship last night with Clay Co vs Pickett Co. He made bad calls early -both ways, so guess he is consistent - and at the slightest word from Coach Bibb, he was ready to come from one end of the floor to the other to "T" him up. Bibb eventually did get a T called by another official but it was over a Wheaton call. So if anyone reading this has anything to do with the TSSAA, can he be eliminated from officiating anymore post season games this year? After seeing the LA vs UHS game as well as the PC vs Clay co game, its obvious he thinks he is perfect and too insecure to not to get emotionally involved when someone does question a call.

  5. Ray Charles, I notice a sense of negativity. You are picking words from my posts, and I know a smart alec when I hear one. If I'm right, why do you not take it somewhere else?

So sensative king.:wub: Seems like the last couple of post on here you are ready to get in a fight or something. To early in the season to "bow up on somebody". Just wait 'til tourny time. None of this junk matters now.LOL :roflol::lol:

  6. I like this thread.... This has been a pet peeve of mine for awhile. I hate it when the band is going on and on while there is play on the field. Someone said earlier "its not a concert". And no 90% of the people in attendance of a football game did not come to see the bad. Well, unless they are that much better than the football team, but that is probably just in the movies. Dont get me wrong though, I like the band to play, but most do it at the wrong time...or they play something that doesnt really fire up the kids like the theme from Star Wars or something. The band has their few min of fame each week at half-time. Other than that... let them play on scores, turnovers, time outs, change of possesions. Things like that. Doing it while teams are actually playing and maybe trying to call audibles both offensively and defensively should not be allowed. Im all for a T$$AA rule change on this one.

  7. Well now MrBubbles. You sound like your pretty full of yourself. You obviously think you could do better. Maybe you should have gotten out there and helped a little since they only have 3 asst's. Or wait are you one of those parents that didnt play when you were growing up and because you watch sportcenter on ESPN you think you have a masters degree in football. Dont act like last years seniors and Poteete are the only reason DC has done as well as they have. Like I said before, get behind your your coach. He has taken DC to winning seasons the last 2 years and the playoffs. Might have went farther last year had they not lost a father and asst coach. When was the last time DC had this much success. Or better question have they.

  8. Well, I dont know the whole story of what happend post game, but I know I have seen many young men crying after a game with similiar circumstances. Be honest with you, I wanted to puke. Yeah its an emotional and physical game and all, but I just cant grasp crying about it. Getting mad and wanting to do better, definately. I just think its too many people being too soft on their kids as they grow up. If a parent did get all over Coach Trapp after the game, I tend to think it was a parent that never played. There is definatly room for understanding in situations but if and when the players have not given all they got then there is not room for it. If they gave more effort than ever and still got beat... Man up, you got beat. Just an opinion and you guys is Dekalb should have your coach's back a little better than that. He has done a great job there. First season 0-10 to playoff the last 2 years.

  9. I will agree with King here. Paying for parking for a high school game is pretty tacky. Especially since they had raised close to $20k at their fund raiser before the season started. Maybe LA and the rest of the the teams that have played at Sparta should return the favor next season. That way the other programs can get new field houses too.

  10. JCHS and Gville have met on several occasions. In fact, 1974 the Tigers played JC in the G-ville homecoming, Tigers won of course, Ron (Moose) Marshall was playing for Gville yet somehow managed to win friends and influence people during the game.

Districts and conferences have changed during the years as school population and area population changes. Used to be back then the first game of basketball season was between the two schools too but that was a lifetime ago, back in the day of girls halfcourt play and Diane Spivey from JC being one of the few females with a good jump shot.

Good luck to both teams, I'll be there. If not with bellz on at least wearing blue ! LOL

Hi BluBellz! This is the daughter of Diane Spivey and I just wanted to say thanks for the mention of my mom. She was an awesome ball player! Mom passed away almost nine years ago. It's odd that you wrote about her at this time because I am making a collection of memories/stories of her to share with her grandchildren one day. I printed out your comment. If you have any other memories of her, please e-mail me at jmoff23@yahoo.com. Thanks again.

  11. Word is that Sumner Regional has just completely dropped the entire Sports Medicine program. Not sure how many schools that they provide for, but that is several schools that have just lost Athletic Trainers. Not just little schools, but apparently all (Station Camp, Gallatin, Smith Co, Gordonsville, just to name a few). So, if your child is playing sports in that area, make sure you let the administration know how you feel about it. It seems to be a total lack of respect for a profession that means so much, and does so much for this hospital, as well as these schools and communities. Its seems that as much money as an Athletic Trainer in the high school setting could generate (and probably does) through referrals, ER, Diagnostics, and surgeries, that their salaries should be more than paid for. Just a thought. I wish all those Athletic Trainers involved the best of luck, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

sounds like they need to work on foul shots at practice! hitting only 1 freethrow is definately a reason to get beat!

And the facts finally start to come out....

If JC were 1 for 28 from the line, you would not be seeing this thread and your cute little remark about practicing foul shots would be valid. Since the JC boys were 1 for 3, now the facts finally start to come out.....

  13. QUOTE(bleacherbum69 @ Feb 10 2007 - 01:58 PM) 826366314[/snapback]

Courtney started the game but was unable to go, she played all of 45 seconds in the first quarter and that was it. Couple that with Moore Co. shooting 25 free throws to Jackson Co.'s 3 and that pretty much says it all!

I believe the foul shots combined for boys and girls was that Moore Co shot close to 60 foul shot, while JC shot around 9. Maybe there was just some very different understandings of the rules from officials in that region.

I dont want to take away from either for Moore Co's teams, but neither of JC's team are known for commiting that many fouls.

  14. The Blue Devils have a long way to go if they are going to compete. I saw their last scrimmage against oakwood, oakdale, oak something. Anyway, the other team did not look to good yet they were able to take advantage of a JC turnover early on and score plus a 2 pt conversion. Same things i have seen in the past as far as overall execution. Did actually put together a drive here and there, but did not see the other team stuffing them, just saw more turnovers and poor execution. Line looked lazy, and got a big fullback that runs standing up, (not what JC needs). looked like a couple of quick tailbacks, but neither seemed to be able to make the moves one on one downfield. qb looked ok, comleted some easy wide open passes but seemed to just heave it downfield with any pressure. JC's jv quarterback looked like he knew what was going on better than the varsity guy. Did not see all of it but did hear varsity scored in last seesion but did not convert on their 2 pt play.

I hope they can turn things around up there. I hear the caoches are working hard on technique and execution, but the kids have got to play. its up to them to step up and make a difference.
