I think coach Rick Smith at Lake road junior high in obion county is very well deserving of a job at the high school level his knowledge of the game seems to be more suited for high school level players

BigWes, I completely agree with you my son will be going to high school where your basketball coach left from we as parents thought that this problem would be over with after the school system hired a new basketball coach but we are starting to here some of the same things now that we heard in the past the incoming freshman have been lifting weights with the football program and some of them also wanted to play basketball and they are starting to catch some heat because they are not devoting to full time basketball in my opinion this thread should have been aimed at BBall coachs instead of football coachs

I never said I was an expert on anything I simply stated that I felt AA girls basketball in Northwest Tenn was stronger overall than AAA, but since you want to get hot under the collar about where this young lady should attend you are probably right she should attend Dyer County because if what I am hearing is true about the feelings Dyersburg folks have toward this girls family over the decision her brother made she would probably not be given a fair shot no matter how good she is !

Like I said i was not knocking the dyersburg talent but look at dyersburg girls record this year against AA teams they split with dyer county and was swept by obion central and i dont know if they played against any other AA squads or not obion central could not do anything with westview or gibson county either so what does that tell you dyersburg would have been able to do with them!

I have heard lots of good things about this young lady I personally think if she wants to play against better competition she will play at Dyer county because they play in one of the toughest districts in the state, Martin Westview ,Obion Central, Gibson County, Crockett County,this is not knocking the talent in Dyersburg but I dont think Dyersburg High School Girls Program could successfully compete in AA B-Ball

did thom snyder from obion central not receive any college offers at all it is hard to beleive he didnt with his size 6"5 320 pounds this seems to be the size of most of the college lineman i see listed

What ever happenend to Jimmy Leake from the 1980 State Title Team he was an awesome running back this was the same year Jerry Reese was the starting QB

I agree with you fullcourtpress sometimes the lack of a winning program overshadows talent I have lived in this area all my life and can never remember uc girls at any time being competitive good luck to the team and whomever takes over

The QB at Obion Central was a junior, he also passed for around 2200 yards his sophomore year

I beleive that rumor has any backbone Kim is a winner and lets be quite honest here Pat Summit could not win in UC zero basketball talent

Obion County Central has been a passing team for the last couple of years with pretty good success last season QB threw for 3179 yards and 37 touchdowns

Then how about letting us know who you and the beav know is it someone already in the county or city school system
