Could Region 4 get swept?  

1.  Lebanon Blue Devil-  17-3 last 2 years with a district championship

                                        -  Head Coach, OC, and DC return

                                        -  Sr. & Jr. Class undefeated Freshmen Teams

                                        -  Some new/old additions

                                        -  Favorable Schedule (non-district)

      Key:  Can they win without the 2023 class.  Lebanon always has skill and good hard hitting defenses.  Really good coaching staff returns with a lot of experience.  Last 2 years produced a lot of memories for BDP.                           

2.  MJ Bears-  Until Perry Leaves, they will always be in top 2

                     -  Return HC, OC, and DC (I think)

                     -  Good Back field in QB and 2 Backs Returning

                     -  Much of the Defense returns (Front 7)

                     -  Favorable Schedule (non-district)

  Key:  Like Lebanon, do they have enough returning to finish in top of district.  Graduated a very good 2023 class.  A good returning coaching staff returns and the winningest program in Wilson County past 15 years.

3.  Green Hill-  16-4 last 2 years with a district championship

                       -  HC and knowledgeable staff     

                       -  Some good skill positions 

                       -  Favorable Schedule (non-district) 

Key:  Again, the 2023 class in Wilson County was special.  Can they fill the vacancies left by the previous class.  Coach Crouch gained some knowledgeable coaches  to go with his up-beat personality. 

4.  Gallatin-  New Coaching Staff

                   -  Always Athletic, but can they put together some wins

                   -  Favorable Schedule (non district)

  Key:  Can the new coaching staff take arguably the most talented line-up and make something of it.  G-town should be returning a ton of talent.  Question is can they find that winning spirit. 

5.  Warren County-  Some new coaches

                                -  several returning starters and reserves

                                -  Favorable Schedule (non-district)

  Key:  Is a new OC and a number of returning starters enough to prop WC into the top 4 spots for the play-offs.

6.  Cookeville-  2nd year staff

                       -  several returning starters and reserves

                       -  Favorable Schedule (non-district)

  Key:  Can the current staff and what should be a number of returning players take them to the next level.  There is a buzz on the plateau that they can reach the play-offs.

7.  Wilson Central-  New Staff

                               -  Strong line returning and QB experience

                               -  Favorable Schedule (non-district)

  Key:  Can the new staff put together enough wins with several missing pieces?

I Wouldn’t bet it falling back in MJ favor

How many basketball Champions were crowned last spring?  None in the public sector.  If team does not get to the championship game, remaining teams became semi-finalist.  If there is a game for the Championship in football this fall, someone will win it.  If a team has to drop out, then the other team not effected should win state.  If there is not a game, then they are semi-finalist at best.

Wrong, if they are in the state championship game--then they made it.  Now a team with potential, could miss the game because of Covid-19.  Bye Bye Whitehaven

Nice little pieace just now on espn, Jameis Winston (Heismen Winner) played in a Wing-T offense.  So, now we have a Wing-T minded coach playing for the National Championship (Auburn) and a QB from Florida State.  Very nice!  Love it!

Maryville took out the Hendersonville Guards.  They were having to Loop like Bananas just to be able to pull.  This was killing the Rythm and completely shut the sweep down.  Are you going to second guess Hendersonville's Work Ethic, Discipline, Etc. ?

Never mentioned anything about Hendersonville, but since YOU brought that up I guess YOU would have to say that about all the other 6A teams.  And then there was 1.  I love Smith County folk!

So, all you guys that are down playing the Wing-T offense, What offense is best to win the state?  I figure it has more to do with coaches coaching and players making plays with a lot of between those 2.  Example:   HARD WORK, DISAPLINE, TEACHING & LEARNING from both Coach/Player, weights/Conditing/Agility, Commitment (Wo, that's a big 1) 

I hope they wind up better than any of um so far. I like all the excitement on here even if you are slim shady with a different screen name thanks man. By the way, Ken Brown was the QB in 86 Graves was on the early 80 s teams slim.

Sorry Posty, Ken Brown was not the starting QB in 86.  Jason Graves was the QB. 

Westmoreland played Lebanon in the spring. Westmoreland had 4 starters out including their QB and tailback. They were ahead in the first half and really done better Lebanon in the scrimmage. From what I can tell by these 2 games, Westmoreland would be competitive in the larger district this season barring injury.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock into that last post there Posty.
