  1. I went to the game as a unbiased fan of the game! I just like watching good basketball between ranked teams. Skogen is a good player. He can shoot the three proficiently. The dunk right before the half was a walk and a technical should have been given for hanging on the rim. Me and my dad just looked at each other and laughed. Pickett stayed in the game though! I thought it was good for both teams to play a higher level of competition at the Single A level and I'm sure these teams will meet in March.

  2. OK Huck....you got some 'splainin to do.  Need to 'splain what you are smoking to have Alysha Clark as a reserve.  She's closing in on 1,500 points and 900 rebounds in less than 3 years and you have her as a reserve

Earth to Huck, Earth to Huck...anyone home?  :D

Earth to flngrvy.....she has no jumper and she's small for a post...that's why she is going to Belmont! No doubt she is a great player, but there is a reason she is playing in the Atlantic Sun conference!

  3. I got five from one county that I could put up against any other five and be a serious contender;

Alyosn Butler and Suzanne Morris from Walker Valley

    Jackie Pickel from Bradley

Kerry Simpson and Holly Rogers from Cleveland

    All from Bradley County

Kerri Simpson is going to be a fantastic player once she gets more arch on her shot. Morris is too slow, but she has a great 8 to 10 foot jump shot.

I'd give Dudley from Gibson County a try-out invitation!

  4. Huck's Tennessee Women's Basketball Dream Team:

1 - Cait McMahon (Heritage) Don't really need to tell you about this phenom!

2 - Jackie Pickel (Bradley Central) True shooting guard that hustles and does all the intangibles!

3 - Sarah Baker (Harpeth Hall) It's hard to find true three's, but she fits the billing! Furman has found a good team player!

4 - Erin Ogan (Powell) She does everything you need in the post. Also, in my offense, you have to be able to be a post that can knock down the threes.

5- Jessica Jackson (Craigmont) Excellent post player that knows her position well and plays it textbook style!

    Reserves -

1 - Megan Lyons (Greeneville) Excellent point guard that can score!

2 - Allison Butler (Walker Valley) She is tall and an ace marksman! She also can handle the ball in case of extreme pressure in pressing situations.

3 - Nancy Moore (Columbia Central) My defensive stopper!

4 - Alysha Clark (Mt. Juliet) Can't leave her off here! She hustles and rebounds. Also, she would be a good post in pressing situations.

5 - KeKe Stewart (Oak Ridge) She knows the post game and can score consistently!

2 - Holly Rogers (Cleveland) She is playing out of position this year, but the gal can score and she has a good head for the game.

3 - Latoya Bullard (Craigmont) In state last year, she had a good tournament. Her consistency would determine her playing time!

Coach - Bubba Insell (Shelbyville Sportsshop 16-under) He has the pedigree, but also the determination and knowledge. His coaching skills would make this team even better!

I'd put these girls up against anybody in the nation! Go Team Tennessee!

  5. Cleveland preseason favorite to be best team in area?  Bradley is way overrated, how can you be #1 in the state and be underrated? Coach Kent Smith even said the rankings were bogus. I don't see Bradley beating Cleveland on Feb. 11th, so that winning streak at home might go down!! Why would we be dissapointed, we have 16-5 record?

Keep on talking....that is all you Cleveland Raider fans are good for....by the way...where did you go after the region semi-final loss last year.......

  6. I was a part of an AAU game where we were working on our press.  The score got ugly and the opposing team's parent were yelling at us, but we were preparing for a much tougher game to come.

In reading that the coach is a poor sportsman because they run the score up, what about Pat Summit beating teams 110 to 39?  That was just a couple of years ago.

I heard a rumor that a team played the entire game in a hand stand position!  They shot with their feet.

  8. Craigmont and Harpeth Hall are playing in the White division, which is by far the toughest.

Craigmont plays Troy today at 11:30 PST.

Harpeth Hall plays Oakland Tech at 1:00 PST; Oakland Tech is ranked #14 in the country and is led by USAToday Super 25 players Alexis Gray-Lawson and Devanei Hampton. They have both signed early with the University of California.

Good Luck to both teams and represent Tennessee well!
