  1. Someone told me Cait McMahon is playing in this fall league. is that true? If so, when does she play this week. I would like to see her play.
  2. Latina Davis Kellie Jolly Julie Powell Conswella Sparrow Janet Holt La Tonya Johnson as a sub
  3. Geren and Redmon weren't in the 80's. They were included on my 90's list.
  4. I cannot imagine why I left Leslie Henley off. I loved to watch her play. She was a tough little player. Gilley was also good. She completely slipped my mind. There were so many good ones during the 90's in Region 4AAA.
  5. Man, you could take Region 4AAA and come up with an unbelievable team for the 90's. I guarantee that. Remember some of these names: Kellie Jolly, Conswella Sparrow, LaDona Woodson, Tiffany Woosley, Latina Davis, LaTonya Johnson, Ginger Jared, Michelle Johnson, Allison Peercy, Sara Marcom, Allison Sain, Amber Clark, Monica Dillon, Katie Smith, Candice Mitchell, Miranda Moore, Andrea Baldwin, Myriah Lonegran, just to name a few Then add in Oak Ridge players: The McGinnis sisters, Erin Young, Jennifer Azzi, Nikki Caldwell, Jennifer Wilson just to name a few. Here are a few other names: Susan Starnes and the Davis twins (South Green), Rachel Powell, Pam Irwin, Misty Greene and Heather Wilson (Meigs Co.), Juana Brown (Memphis Harding), Amy Geren and Paige Redmond (Bradley Central). Nicky McCray (Collierville), Janet Holt (Moore Co.), Brittany Ezell (Franklin), Brynae Laxton (Oneida), Jessica Beaty (Cumberland Co.),Kitty Allen (Henry Co.) Now that was just a few that came to mind in about five minutes. I know I have left out a bunch of names. That was some great girls basketball in the state of Tennessee during that time period. Those are the names of some of the ones that I had the pleasure to watch while they were playing high school basketball. I am sure I left out several West Tennessee players since I didn't get the opportunity to watch them as much. Without a doubt, that was an unbelievable decade of high school girls basketball in the state of Tennessee. [Edited by sportsfanatic on 10-11-02 5:27P]
  6. White County and Science Hill played twice a few years ago (1998-99 season). Of course that was one of the years White County won the state. They won both contests that year in two good games.
  7. Those were great pictures. I know they were made with a digital. What type of camera and what kind of lens and flash?
  8. Where is the Mullins girl from Kentucky who has been playing with them. I noticed her name wasn't in the box score.
  9. Can anybody list any of the individual scoring for the Elite's games?
  10. 17 and under girls team needs to pick up a couple of players to play with them in YBOA national tournament. Interested in any YBOA players who played in YBOA qualifiers for age groups 14-17. If your team is not advancing and you would like to play, send e-mail to sesports@blomand.net.
  11. 17 and under YBOA state tournament brackets will not work.
  12. I did see the game with the Elite and I did see Haynes jump up that one time you are talking about. She was getting hammered continuously and could not get a call. She was visibly fustrated. About three people had just came down on top of her, one hard on her head. I know you should not react in that manner but sometimes it is just hard. I saw attitudes out there for both teams and I was just there to watch. Frazier is a great player, but Haynes is the read deal. She can play any position on the floor. In the Tennessee Georgia All Star game, she practically had to run the point and was named MVP. Frazier had a ton of talent around her and couldn't be concentrated on. If you noticed everytime Haynes touched the ball, three people were collasping on her. I can't wait to hear great things about Haynes in college.
  13. The Elite defeated the Sparks in the championship game. The Sparks led for a good portion of the first half, but then just lost pace. The Elite wound up winning by 20+points, but the Sparks took their best players out with well over five minutes to play. There was little doubt who was the best player in the 17 and under age group. Ashley Haynes is unbelievable. I watched the game between the Elite and the Sparks and she was the best player on the court hands down. She can get to the basket whenever she wants to. The only problem was she didn't get enough touches in the game. She controlled the first 10 minutes. She then started getting hammered every time she touched the ball. I think I saw every game the Sparks played. She can play any position on the court. Not only is she a great player but she also has a great attitude. My team played against her and my players respected the attitude she exhibited on the court. The Elite has several good players, but I don't think they are as good as last year's Elite 17 and under. Austin Peay got a steal with Haynes. She will definitely make a name in the OVC. Good luck to a fine young athlete.
