Since the MTP fans are over on the LC / WC thread, thought I would post here to keep it from dying.

PS anyways lewis county just is not that good and whoever said that this L/C team was as good as the team they had when david sharpe was there is a real idiot or their on somthing. PS L/C has trouble making the playoffs even if they do ya'll cannot beat the privates! Already herd some of ya'll fans crying about having to play them

I agree that mTp lost the game on both nights. I also think that they played a better game on Saturday nite compared to Friday nite. But, I don't believe that any of the younger players will leave a losing team in their hometown to go to a winning team in another town just because they want to play for a winner. They will stay and weather the storm. I know that there are 2 currently on the Hohenwald team that did this to mTp along with their brothers. Well, you're welcome to them because we haven't missed them at all. In fact mTp's program got better without them. As fans we are proud of ALL the kids on our team, Marco and the rest. Keep what you have, and we'll see you again next year!

You are right Tiger, Daley did catch Greive after he had ran 80 yards, caught him in the end zone

He's got 55 yards and a TD in the 1st half and still got the second half to go to get his 100 yards. So please.....

 

And got those in a wide open field, taking off and nobody hardly touched him. The coaches from another team scouting mTp sitting next to me was impressed, why wouldn't you be. Was you there?

Thanks Moto. This game has been lost so far in the trenches. I didn't think losing just 3 guys on our O-line from last year would make that big of a difference, but these boys need to pick up thier blocks. Some have said that our boys didn't match up well as far as size but that just wrong. Same size, just no GOOD blocking on our behalf in the first half. The line started getting it together towards the end of the second but the line backers for LC had a field day with them in the 1st half. If we come out today prepared to hit them and maintain our blocks and not roll off of them, then look for a turn in this game. If not, more of the same.

 

Defense is looking pretty good despite what the score says. D-line held up pretty good other than the three plays they just flat out missed the boys of LC running with the ball. LC does a decent job of the wingt hiding who's got it, sometimes but not all the time. Defense made several good stops last nite and we don't need any more blind sited TD's from LC and well be ok. To all the respectable LC fans please don't be offended by this for this mainly goes out to the big mouths your way, but I'm just not too impressed with LC other than #27 Dodson. mTp is not playing good ball as of the moment, and if LC fans think your going to win it all in your class think again, LC has only got us down by 13 points its not over yet. Collinwood would probably be beating you right now, I'd venture to say WC would give you a fit and if this was the mTp of '04 it would be about 50 something to 0.

 

mTp fans don't be too hard on me for this analogy, but if our boys don't start blocking on offense better, this is going to be a hard fought season. I'm not the only one last night screaming at our boys to block. I don't mean it to down our guys. Every one has called us "Mount Dailey" and "Marco Pleasant" but we have seen as of last night that even the best back in 1A can't run the ball without a good blocking O-line in front of him, so there goes the "one man show theory".

 

To the respectable LC fans, thanks for the oppurtunity for this game, its a good wake up call to our line.

Also, the Tennessean reporter may have been speaking in Marco's behalf, but a lot of LC fans are doing even more damage for their team with all the locker room material than what that stupid reporter could ever have done. I just love how many times I've read " I hope this is an injury free game ", as if some hopes quite differently.

Those 70 or so Panther players can more than handle any damage caused by their fans and when I speak of injury free you do realize it will still be about 100 degrees when the game starts

I don't know a lot about LC's ability to play ball, that's one of the reasons I've not posted. But it seems the LC fans know a lot about smack. It's been full of it the past couple of days. And don't say mTp fans are as well, you can't find a post from myself saying mTp is going to beat LC. But judging by some of your own fans comments that LC couldn't score but only 14 points the last three games or something, it will be a long drive back indeed if you lose this one. Because you might not have heard too much out of me yet, but if you smack talkers lose this one.........Oh boy! Get ready!

 

LC is fixing to face one of the top 3 best 1a teams in the state. Hope your team can back up all the smack, because mTp is ready.

You got to love it! MTP fans talking about LC fans knowing alot about smack. look back buddy and see who started this thread and it was started last December, 9 months before the game and yes LC knows they are playing a top 3 1A school that has the reigning player of the year who has already said no one can stop him!

I see it being more of an offensive shootout. Both teams like scoring more than they like defending. The one who has the ball last and catches the fewest cramps wins!

So were you part of the line from W"boro that helped them rush for a -22 yards and 56 yards total offense?

I beleive that one or more of the Region 7A teams will go a long way into the playoffs and possibly all the way to the clinic bowl.

 

McKenzie is always explosive and they have a new senior track star running back that has just tranferred to their school that gives them a real delay or draw threat that they have been lacking to go with Carr's good arm. The key is their line. I just don't know how sound it is going to be.

 

Union City is much improved I have heard.

 

Lake County always has a speedy team that can slip up on anyone. They were one play away from the clinic bowl last year after finishing 3rd or 4th in the region.

 

Bruceton has a senior football team with great size and exrience.

 

I can see a clash with one of these teams and an Fayette Acad or TCA late in the playoffs for this side of the bracket.

 

I favor Camden to win the new region, with Lewis County or Huntingdon in the second spot. Lewis County is huge in the line and the seem to have a lot of depth. I don't know how well they will be able to handle a speedy team like Camden or Huntingdon.

 

Camden has a senior team and is always well coached. The Berry kid is back at QB and they have a very good defense that has given Huntingdon and Lewis County trouble over the last few years keeping each contest a very low scoring affair.

Lewis County in not in region with Camden anymore. they are in region 6 2A with Hickman Co, East Hickman, Fairview, Harpeth, Richland and Loretto

I would have no petty on lewis county if i was mp the last time they played lc was beating mp prety bad like 48 to nothing and that sorry! human being coach sharp was throwing the ball with a min left in the game and he coach sharp would not play or even scrimage mp in 03 or 04 or o5 or 06 but this year he decides to play mp because he think all mp has got is marco but thier little middle linebacker is not going to stop marco or cliffton or stoops the line mp has got is very good hope mp wins by 60. PS to answer the summertown ? it don't matter lewis county has had boys play for them from mp when they stilled lived in mp. thats why they was so good.

So you don't like Coach Sharp? by the way, Mt Pleasant dropped Lewis County from their schedule after the 2 schools had been playing each other for 50 straight years! Mt Pleasant is going to field one of the best teams they have had and Coach Sharp and the entire Panther team knows Mt. Pleasant is not a one man team. Marco is a very good player but he is surrounded with some great talent. You need to talk to the Mt Pleasant administration before you spout off about who will not play who.

Let's get to the real question does Camden and Lewis Co. have as much $ in their football scholarship endowment fund as CPA or Goodpasture.

region six in 2A is pretty weak.........region 6 vs. region 6 2A?????????????????????????? you pick.....

Mt. Pleasant is going for their 4th or 5th straight regional title and Lewis County has not finished worse than 2nd in their region for the last 12 years. that doesn't say much for either region

Thank you........LC will have a tough go at it trying to hold Dailey to less than 4 or 5 scores, I dont care how great thier defense is supposed to be this year. Dailey will be a senior with almost the entire starting offense back, and from what Ive heard he's gotten better at passing the ball around. If LC spends the whole night trying to just key on MD he just might pick them apart.

If he does that against Lewis County's defense, even if you don't care how great their defense is suppose to be this year, Marco will score atleast 10 TD's against the "wood". I would bet Coach Sharp hopes he stands back and passes the ball around all night against the secondary of LC.

Boo-Hoo....Did I hurt your feelings? You wanted to talk about LCHS and MPHS. I did. I dont think I was "Putting your team down." If I wanted to put them down, I could have said something like," If LCHS is so great, then why do they struggle with 1a teams like WC and Collinwood (when there was 3 classes and LCHS was our favorite HC victim)."

 

Face it.......year in and year out Lewis County can barely hold thier own with most 1A teams. Maybe they will have an awesome year in 07, but they better be playing at the 2A or 3A level or MP will hand them a loss quickly. I would put my Trojans up against the Panthers this year and any of the last 10 years, and feel confident.
