  1. What happen with the seedings, because Harding got screwed?!?! They got put in a second round matchup with SBEC and then possibly a third round matchup with Briarcrest.... They ended up with the same region record as ECS and the a better overall record, and they split the season series. If it went to the coin toss, that isnt fair at all and they should find a tie breaker that will actually invovle the players and not a freakin 25 cent piece!!! Anyways ECS gets St. Benedict in the second round a team Harding has beat twice and a team ECS split with, and then St. Agnes, who is very good, but they are no Briarcrest. But I guess thats how it goes, maybe our 3 sophmores, 2 8th graders, and 4 seniors, can pull a big win or two and get us to the sectional, anyways, put the scores up from all the games this week, in this thread....

When people get so upset about "unfair" seedings that they are blinded by the task at hand... TEAMS LOSE. Hence, Harding lost to SBEC. Usually it's more important to worry about those little obstacles and just prove yourself worthy instead of complaining.

  2. do you mean "shabby" because i just looked shobby up in the dictionary and it wasnt there.  and yeah i'll admit the refs in memphis seem like they're watching another game at times....i dont know where i was boasting.

Of course you won't find shobby in the dictionary. And you won't find shaddy in the dictionary. In fact there are a ton of "words" you won't find in the dictionary. But if you look clearly at the word I said..... It's SHODDY, shoDDy, with DDDDDDDDDDD's, not bbbbbbbbbbb's. Look at my post, whaddya see. Oh, coachtfan said shoddy, not shobby. No, I said shoddy.... and look what we have here... A DEFINITION:

    Main Entry: 1shod·dy

    Pronunciation: 'shä-dE

    Function: noun

    Etymology: origin unknown

1 a : a reclaimed wool from materials that are not felted that is of better quality and longer staple than mungo b : a fabric often of inferior quality manufactured wholly or partly from reclaimed wool

2 a : inferior, imitative, or pretentious articles or matter b : pretentious vulgarity

Hmmm, if it's in the dictionary... it just might be a word.

and yeah i'll admit the refs in memphis seem like they're watching another game at times

You already admitted that earlier, and you were proud of it, too.

i dont know where i was boasting.

got a little message for you.  welcome to memphis.  the refs call every game like that... but once again welcome to memphis, because thats how the officiating just is.

Through your boisterous welcomes, I get the impression that you are quite proud of the style in which our Memphis refs call the games.

Adrian, you might want to read posts more carefully if you're going to nitpick.

  3. hey Brentwood, got a little message for you. welcome to memphis. the refs call every game like that. yeah they might have called more fouls on Brentwood(which was obvious by the team number of fouls), but the refs wouldnt dare call a foul on brandon wright in that game. but once again welcome to memphis, because thats how the officiating just is.

SO, you're admitting that the Memphis ref's do a shoddy job and can't call a game right?? And the shocking things is, YOU'RE PROUD OF IT.

  4. Bishop Byrne at #4 is a joke... Undefeated and beaten almost every other Memphis D-II school, led by Top 30 Sr. Charles Hampton and Post Brandon Gardner...

gomab, I feel that you overrate Bishop Byrne slightly. I think Briarcrest is a little better, but Bishop Byrne is talented. They are definitely 2nd (if not 1st). Statewide top five, I would say:

    1. BA

    2. Briarcrest

    3. Bishop Byrne

    4. Knox. Catholic

Ok, so that was only four teams. It's gonna be close competition this year, and I think anyone's ranking is as good as anyone else's. I want to believe that BA still stands a head above everyone else, but I'm not even sure about that. This year looks to produce a good playoff scenario for whoever partakes.

  5. Ok, we haven't had much D2 discussions going on lately. Curious what everyone thinks of the new AP Poll... It looked alright, but in my opinion Briarcrest really got shafted in th voting. Briarcrest should at least get 4th, if not 3rd or 2nd. They have a young team that is already looking great. They have a great chance to be in the semis this year, or even make it to the champ game with BA.

P.S. These comments are coming from a rival Memphian, and I have a lot of respect for Briarcrest.

  6. Yes. My understanding is that the sectionals round has been eliminated, and that eight teams qualify for the state tournament, to be help at Lipscomb University in Nashville. My choices were for who I thought might make the final four. My other four would be Ryan/BGA, Bishop Byrne, and Baylor.

It's 3 from West, 3 from Middle, and 2 from East which makes 8 teams

  7. Harding should beat Rossville fairly easily. Rossville's not awful, but they're not disciplined enough to beat Harding. They're basically just a less-athletic city team.

What happened????? Harding's website said they lost 43-42. Is this really true?

  8. Well east TN cannot win ne more other than mowest, and that doesnt look like it is going to happen, , i think the only ppl that can win now is middle TN

I think rollredroll's question about distributation is about the fact that distributation is NOT a word. Distribution is a word, however.

  9. Well, I think that score's gonna be final, so I'm signing off for the night. Great chatting with all you guys. Congrats to Huntingdon, I never would have believed it, but you guys stormed the field tonight. CoachT and the mods, be ready.... I bet there will be a lot of trash talking on this game. G'Night All.
