Thanks to all that replied to this comment in such a positive manner for as was stated these girls worked hard for the title and was not trying to show up the Marshal players . It's good to see everyone letting Austin-East celabrate something GOOD and not try and find a negative in it . THANK YOU ALL .

As an avid A-E ROADRUNNER follower I too want to congratulate MARSHALL CO. on the the way they stayed focues and never gave up. Two years ago we came home with the SILVER and as has been stated that's nothing to be ashamed of. As a Coach of AAU basketball , I watch basketball games from two aspects and had it not been for that 1st quarter I think we would have been in trouble. To your FANS , who I though were the best , you showed what a true fan base is all about.Not once did you give up on your team and even when they hit the free throw for their 1st point you all cheered as loud as ever and I know as a player that felt good.I hope to see you guy's next year in the same game for I think you both want and deserve another shot at us.Keep up the hard work and see you in MARCH '08.

No we can't CHOOSE who we want to come to A-E. Every player on both the girls and boys team live in our zone. We actually have players on FULTON'S and CARTER'S teams that live in A-E's zone but opted to transfer out.

First I would like to thank you all for at least inquiring before you took hearsay and ran with it. You are correct in E.T. being the player in question.As for the MAGNET SCHOOL , what that details is we offer PERFORMING ARTS courses that other schools don't.We have had numerous students recieve offers to go to some of the top dance schools accross the country and also have students recieve recording contracts as well. Very , Very , Very seldom do we gain an athlete from a MAGNET STUDENT.

To all of you that only look at Middle Tennessee Basketball and think no team exist in East Tenn. , this one is for you. AUSTIN-EAST has been a top "PROGRAM" for years and will continue to be presant in "THE BORO" for years to come. We here in ROADRUNNER LAND know what it is like to be OVERLOOKED when it comes to STATE play. We will be in the FINALS and hope to bring home the GOLD . We also give credit to other teams accross the state as the season go and don't just say we are the "CAT'S MEOW". To the true sport's fans from accross the state do your homework and admit that sometimes there is a better team in another part of the STATE. GO RUNNERS.
P.S. Don't look now but in CLASS A I think there is a team called OLIVER SPRINGS and if my geography is correct they too are located in EAST TENNESSEE.

I disagree, you might need to look toward the East at the AE Lady Roadrunners which won't be losing any girls this year. UH OH!!!

Whats up "Turtle",as a faithful supporter of Lady Roadrunner basketball myself ,I as you take pride in stating facts when we speak so I'm informing you and the rest of the panel that the Lady Runners will lose four players this year,but as was stated we have a good Freshmen class coming in and return the top players for the next two years.GO LADY RUNNERS.

If I'm not mistaken, these same two teams met 2 years ago with AE losing by 1. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm close to right..
The game your talking about was against Jackson Co. and that was three years ago.

I'm just curious...Who is the best pg in the state? I have seen 2 pretty good pg's this weekend at the AAU tourney. I saw Dawn Evans with TN Pride and Angela Puelo with Tenn Flight and they were both extremley good. I know they both only be juniors but does it get better than these two in TN.
Shy Marsh and LaCrystel Goss (both with the Lady Stingers , both with the A-E Roadrunners , both Soph. and both can play the one or two guard ) are two of the quickist guards on Defense in the State. Oh by the way they can also shoot.

As an avid fan of the AUSTIN-EAST LADY ROADRUNNERS I was dissapointed in not winning the championship.Congradulation to the LADY RUNNERS for a great season for there are a lot of schools that would love to have that SILVER BALL on display.Not only do CHESTER CO. deserve the GOLD BALL , after spending four days in the same hotel as them ,the team,cheerleaders,coaches showed nothing but CLASS during the early rounds and when we found out we would be playing each other there was no trash talk just two schools happy to be in the FINALS.After the game when they arrived back to the hotel we congradulated them on a fine hard fought win and they just responded back with thanks and joyous smiles as they should have.Of all the teams there I think the most deserving team won.Wear your crown proud and don't leat anyone spoil the fact that the 2004-2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS WILL ALWAYS BE CHESTER CO.

I get a big laugh out of all the A-E and E. Tenn. people talking about "gaining respect." .... If you've made the state tournament and still haven't gotten any respect, it's probably because you don't deserve it. .... And, if you need to get your motivation from a fans' message board, then you're already beaten. Good luck, though.
You west tenn FANS have been talking so much lately that you have talked in circles.Who are you trying to motivate?Lets just pull FOR our team and stop trying to see who can DOWNGRADE the other.Good luck and my we have a good hardfought , injury free basketball game.

Sorry if I come across like that but I just want the people from East Tenn. to know that we know that they are a very talented ball team and we do respect them.Can't wait til the game should be a great time. Well, since Westview thru the district, it looks like Obion Co are the smart ones and they thru the region so they could be in this cupcake brackett. Obion Co rolls and will be playing on Saturday in the 'Boro.
I hope we can get lucky and be there to play Obion Co, that would be good for West Tennessee basketball.

Good Luck next week Roadrunners! We'll be rooting for you here in the east. Looking forward to seeing a few of your former players next year at VIC. Brianna #22 & Kendra #04 will be playing with them...some of the nicest girls we've met on all the college visits. BTW...it was nice to meet Ashley's parents last night!
Everyone at AE was very nice last night. Many parents, fans came up to our girls to wish them well and congratulate them on how well they played. We did shed some tears, not so much because of the loss, but because it was the last game 4 of our seniors will play with this team and for Coach Johnson.
FIRST I WANT TO TAKE THIS TIME TO SAY THAT THE PIGEON FORGE GIRLS PLAYED THE GAME THE WAY YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO PLAY AT THAT LEVEL.IF A LITTLE JAWING WILL GIVE YOU AN EDGE THEN JAW.BUT I HAVE THE UPMOST RESPECT FOR THE GIRLS , FOR BEING AN AAU GIRLS COACH I KNOW THE KIND OF PLAYERS I WANT TO GO INTO A GAME IN A HOSTLE ATMOSPHER AN I WOULD TAKE YOUR GIRLS ANYWHERE TO PLAY KNOWING I WOULD GET A FULL EFFORT FROM START TO FINISH.SECOND I DID NOT SEE OR HEAR ONE OF P.F. 1985...Obion County beats AE for the boys state championship at Vanderbilt...
1997...Union City(from Obion County) beats AE in the state semi-finals at The'Boro(boys)
This year...Union City beats AE in a holiday tourney in Poplar Bluff,Missouri(boys)
I know it doesn't mean much because those are all boys games,but it's a little interesting...
And as another saying goes..Work hard..Play hard...Stay hard...
Not being cocky but just because their boys (Obion County) beat our boys (Austin-East) doesn't mean that there girls are going to be so lucky. It's hard play or your going home in tears. I think that it will be a hard played game. I think A-E will play the Cinderalla story and pull an upset.

You did mention that those were all boys games and I just wondering if you will remember that those were boys games, just because their boys can beat ours (Austin-East) doesn't mean that their girls are going to have the same outcome at such a big time of the year. And I don't have any old saying to give, but it's all in fun

Thanks, voice. We are prepared for AE tonight. Our girls have played against physical teams many times and in atmospheres where the fans are really "into" the game. Besides that....Jerome has given us a "Hearty Welcome" which we accept!
Austin East has some classy fans who showed PF outstanding respect last year when our football team played at their place in play-offs. One of our kids had been killed in a shooting and AE had his jersey # on the scoreboard prior to the game. They also took a moment of silence and then prayed for his family and friends.BTW, I know who CC is. We actually met a couple of years ago during the Twisters Tournament.

I am glad that both these teams made it to the finals. They are both very deserving of it (undefeated in their district.) There could have been an upset this week, but the better team prevailed in both brackets. I think all of us in Region 1 would like to see these teams go to the 'Boro next week. They don't even consider us a threat out west.
By the way, I know OS's gym is not big enough to host a sub-state, what about AE? Where would OS host the game? If PF wins, we can't even host the sub-state at home because our gym is too small. What a shame!

I HAD THE GOOD FORTUNE TO BE INVITED TO THE CLARKRANGE/CUMBERLAND GAME SAT. NIGHT AS A GUEST OF A CLARKRANGE PARENT.AS A BASKETBALL FAN WITH INTEREST IN SEEING A GOOD BASKETBALL GAME BETWEEN TWO WELL COACHED AND WELL PREPARED TEAMS I CAME AWAY IMPRESSED WITH BOTH TEAMS.NETHER TEAM GAVE UP AND THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE WENT THE OTHER WAY WITH A FEW MADE FOUL SHOTS.THE PLAY AT THE BUZZER TO SEND THE GAME INTO O.T. WAS AS BIGTIME OF A PLAY AS CAN BE.I THINK CUMBERLAND'S DEPH WON OUT IN O.T. CONGRADULATION TO BOTH TEAMS AND GOOD LUCK IN THE DISTRICT'S.HOLD YOUR HEADS HIGH CLARKRANGE FOR YOU GAINED RESPECT FROM THE ONE'S WHO KNOW BEST,,THE PLAYERS.

Good morning Turtle . Sorry for just responding back to you but thanks for supporting the Roadrunners .Josh and Chris are doing fine . Both have talent far beyond their age but they also have a lot to learn about the high school level of basketball . both are hard workers and quick learners . things will only get better with them and the rest of the talented freshman we have on board .
