  3. Great win with all the sickness on the team. Volunteer wanted the game more than HV. 19 wins right now. I am proud of the team and coaches for all they have battled though. Coach Whitt has his team playing tough at tourney time as usual. I feel like we are a dangerous team right now. I know this team will be prepared and ready for their game on Tuesday. I encourage all students to Unicoi to back these guys up.

I think district one is capable of pulling off the sweep, but there is always an early suprise. Should be an exciting day on Tueday.

Girls play at 5:30 on Monday vs a tough P. forge team. They need the same support as the boys.

  4. I hope someone can get this thread back up around the middle of November, cause then it will be standing room only for the first conference game for both D-B and Volunteer. Always a good game when D-B comes to Volunteer. Volunteer was 2-2 vs D-B in Church Hill during my tenure.

  5. Absolutly the best finish to any boys game I have ever seen. Period!!!!! If you were not there you missed the most emotional ending in my 11 years. Words cannot describe how the planets were alined or a higher power had a hand in the way the game unfolded. If you did not make it to the game, please have somebody describe it to you.

Congrads to Jacob...You are in elite company. Now close the deal on the season like a leader should.

Congrads to the girls on another big win and Steevie's 29 points.

We will make a call on the game in the morning, I will post it then.

  6. Someone tell me why we are not capable of having the National Anthem when we are playing our cross county rival?

    Brokenarrow,

Two problems happened....First girls to sing did not show and didnt not tell anyone, second the Public address announcer could not find the correct CD, which had slid under the CD player, so he just made a quick call and went without it. It was an unfortunate event. We always have the National Anthem and full color guard, so it was obvious that some problem had occured and we just didnt decide not to have the National Anthem.

  7. Great Team victory for the Falcons. I felt alot of people contributed. Jacob in the first half (how many one handed running shots did he hit), Jared hitting his free-throws and taking a big charge, Jay attacking the basket late in the game and in overtime, Tiptons big block and put back, Potter made some big rebounds. I also felt the coaches did a great job mixing the defenses which gave South problems. Our student section was great, it just needs to keep growing for home and away games.

Freshmen Play Greeneville @ 7:00 on Monday. Give Ron or Larry a Hug and get a bag of Popcorn free

  8. IMAC Football (Add Boone to the mix)

Big Nine -- All other sports

This was my gut feeling all along, I just heard some shuffling around late last week that made me think we might be in the IMAC in all sports. Competition, facilities, and revenues are expected to go up. I will be working on the football schedule tomorrow for the next two years. I will post when I have a complete 10 game schedule.

PS Girls play tonight at 8:00 @ North

Boys play at 8:30 on Thursday @ Central

First home game at 3:00 and 4:30 on Saturday VS Cloudland

  9. It has taken all week for that green paint to come off "HOW ABOUT THEM IRISH". Alex has a beautiful voice and can sing the Notre Dame Fight song on cue.

Next week is a big week 1. Girls jamboree @ North Tuesday 2. Boys Jamboree @ Central on Thursday 3. Classification comes out on Tuesday. I got a bad feeling we might be going south. I hope not, but just a feeling I got from a meeting in Knoxville yesterday.

  10. Big Al,

When the Irish win you need to learn and sing the Notre Dame Fight song for me. If by some chance your boy Clausen gets in the game you know its over. If Tennessee wins I will take you to a UT game and wear a UT shirt. Come 7:00 pm tomorrow I am either calling all those jokers who have ragged on the Irish or if the Irish lose I am turning my phone off and my wife will have to find a ride home with someone else!

  11. Just got back from Murfreesboro and wanted to update everyone....

We finished 7th out of 9 teams...Nerves got the best of us at the start yesterday (the crowds following the boys was more than any of them every had), but played better latter in the day fourty strokes out of the lead after day one.....Today we didnt get the quick start we needed, but finished strong...We lost 7th place after 27 holes, but got it back on the final nine....Tyler Smith played the best and most consistant.....The best thing about these guys is they all are young and will be back...Great Season to Tyler, Carleson, Adam,Benny,Jason and Coach Anderson.
