  1. Reading all this junk has made me really miss the Camden/Lewis County rivalry. Class and respect between two good teams seems to be hard to find.

As far as the game goes, if Hickman County walks into Lewis County thinking they are just going to come in here and dominate Lewis then they are going to go home very disappointed. This game will dictate the region championship, something that Lewis County is used to preparing for each and every year. Coach Sharp knows exactly what a good team is, and what it will take to defeat them.

I think the key to this game will be Hickman Countys ability to play in a big time game like this. If they dont get swallowed in the hype and just come out and play football it has all the makings of becoming a great game. But if they dont, it could end with them hanging their heads quickly.

Good luck to both teams Friday night

  2. I would put my money on Richland or Harpeth making the playoff's before Fairview. I didn't even think anyone would even be talking about the playoff's in Fairview this year. I say the 3 teams in region 6 AA will be Lewis Co. on top just like always, then fallowed up by Hickman Co. being the 1st loser and I'll go with the upset I haven't heard of Richland making the playoff's in years so I am gonna go with Richland in 3rd. Sorry for Fairview, East, and Loretto. I think Fairview will be loretto's only win.

I dont care if your from Lewis County or not, that post doesnt make any sense at all. No way in the world does Loretto beat Fairview. If anyone is gonna win out its gonna be Fairview IMO. They are a good physical team, and remember before the season they were a top pick in this region. Regardless of if they switched offensive systems, those athletes are still there. The Richland/Harpeth game will be a good one, but I dont think either one can compete with Fairview after watching all three of them play...

  3. Call me crazy if you want but I say SC 20 Huntindon 17. SC has a big drive at the end to win. Even if Huntingdon does win it won't be a blowout. SC will fight to the end. For those who remember SC had Lewis Co. last year but had a fumble on the 1 and an interception at their own 20. If SC eliminates the silly mistakes and controls the ball this could be a good one.

Stewart County had Lewis County? If I remember right ya'll got beat 45-7...

    Huntingdon 35-7

  4. Can you see? Can you see why so many of us refuse to acknowledge your propensity for greatness? Simply stated, it is the attitude of a few maniacal Lewis Countians who simply refuse to show even a sign of humility when engaging great fans like myself within the confines of coachtdot com.

Oh you will rue the day, the day in the future when the day shall arrive and you will then say.. the day is upon us and what a terrible day it is!

This is one of and probably the smartest post in the whole thread.

  5. I would have no petty on lewis county if i was mp the last time they played lc was beating mp prety bad like 48 to nothing and that sorry! human being coach sharp was throwing the ball with a min left in the game and he coach sharp would not play or even scrimage mp in 03 or 04 or o5 or 06 but this year he decides to play mp because he think all mp has got is marco but thier little middle linebacker is not going to stop marco or cliffton or stoops the line mp has got is very good hope mp wins by 60. PS to answer the summertown ? it don't matter lewis county has had boys play for them from mp when they stilled lived in mp. thats why they was so good.

Thats the longest sentence i've ever read...

But anyways, If that "sorry" Coach Sharp was throwin the ball, I would probably say he was takin it easy on ya'll because running has always been Lewis Counties strong point...

Why would Coach Sharp schedule Mt. Pleasant if he thought all they had was Marco? If he thought it was that easy to beat them he wouldnt have been "scared" to schedule them after the 02 game...

And you might as well hope that Mt. Pleasant wins by 62 to outdo the 61 that Lewis County scored the last game...

I pick Giles Co by 20!

I dont see that happening. You can combine the point difference from both games and the Panthers would have only lost by 15. Lewis County has really stepped it up during the last part of the season. Chase Helton has stepped in as a starter and the team has been playing well because of it. Last meeting Lewis overcame a big deficit and came back and almost won, so this one could be a good overall game. I guess we will see on Monday night

  7. I would say that Lewis County is capable of beating Giles County as well. They were down 13-0 in the begining of the last meeting and came back and lost by 6. They had them within 2 but had to start fouling in the last thirty seconds. It was similar to the last Spring Hill meeting as well. I think that the top spot is up for grabs right now between the three, and it just depends on what team decides to step it up this tournament.

Your Lewis Co. ball player should have been shaking hands instead of worrying about handing out a piece of paper. Everyone knows that this is nothing but a talk show. He should be worried about the game and not what was said. Besides I've looked and didn't see anything worth printing out.

He obviosly was worried about the game as he was the leading scorer for Lewis County...

  9. Very bad play by Lewis County in this one. I believe they blew an 12 point lead, and I was told they missed 11 free throws in the 4th quarter alone. Play down low was horrible as well. Only really bright spot would be Hinson as point guard. She continues to improve each and every game.

  10. I cant believe that there hasnt been a thread started about this game yet. A few weeks ago this game was being talked about excitedly and now there is just one post on it. I dunno if the support on here for Lewis County and Giles is down that much, or what...

It should be a good game, and I feel that Lewis County is capable of beating Giles, but it will take a very mistake free game to do it. I would expect the crowd to be in it pretty good if its a close game, and hopefully the players can feed off it as they did against Hickman County.

  11. I noticed in the box score from "The Tennessean" that Chase Helton was shown. Has he returned to the team after not playing last season? Just curious.

Pageman, Chase has returned for his senior season, and has done good coming off the bench. Last night he made several clutch free throws in the second half that helped seal the deal

  12. No excuses here, Goodpasture is just plain better than Lewis County. Speed killed them around the outside all night....

I thought that Lewis Co's defense played decent in the begining of the game, Holding them to 7 in the first quarter on a long screen pass and also holding them to a couple 4th downs which they were able to convert. But then the athletism of Goodpasture really began to show and they never looked back. Very poor tackling by Lewis Co as well as they thought they could knock down the Goodpasture players instead of wrapping them up. This killed them all night.

Congratulations to Goodpasture, they also seemed very classy to everyone there, including our band.

Good luck to you in the rest of the playoffs

  13. exactly what I was trying to say but some people on here just want to keep posting stuff and as far as your valet parking no thanks I can park my own hope you have plenty of space cause Panthers Fans will need it. Good luck to Camden fri nite because according to people on both threads we should all just stay home.

I had this exact same conversation with a women at Darrins this morning lol

  14. Goodpasture wins by at least 28 and plays CPA next.

These Goodpasture players are on a mission since losing last year

at the State and plan on getting back their with authority.

They beat Camden 27-7 at Camden last year and are a

lot better now than this time last year.

Goodpasture will score a lot of points, not just 7 as

Fairview did. They put 60 some odd points on them earlier this

year at Fairview and that was pulling the starters after halftime.

Have a safe trip Lewis Co. fans.

If i remember right, Lewis County beat Camden 38-21 last year at Camden. Lewis County is obviously much better than last year as well, as they are in the 2nd round this year...

I personally dont see this being as big of a blowout as everyone is predicting. This is the 2nd round of the playoffs, if these teams were just gonna lay down and let someone run all over them, then they wouldnt be playing this week.

Just remember, all it takes is one muffed kick, or fumble recovery early and the momentum will carry either team...

Good luck to both teams, and may everyone be safe!

  15. Well first off lets look at the one opponent that fairview and LC played. Hickman County. While the season was young, i believe that LC only won 14-7. Fairview played them a few weeks later and won 28-21. Looks pretty even to me. I know that Fairview has looked bad in there 2 losses but they are still a pretty good team. The last time that Fairview and LC met was a great game with Fairview winning 21-7. LC offense hasn't changed very much from then. we stopped it then and i believe we will stop it again. Fairview has a very good chance of winning this game as long as they play mistake free. Fairview also has the edge in the kicking game in what i think will be a low scoring game.

    i will say

    Fairview 17

    Lewis Co. 10

2004 was the last time these two teams played, Panthers went 6-5...

This is 2006, Panthers are 9-1...

    Something changed

  16. You Lewis Co fans who dont like Coach Sharp may wish you had him back when he is named the new Head Coach at MArshall Co in a few weeks! Just remember where you heard it first!

I'm pretty sure that nobody around here wants him gone, I think its more of most of the fans are tired of the same up the middle plays. It does get old, especially when you can sit up in the stands and predict the play.

But whether we like it or not around here, thats the whole point of the Wing T. And that Wing T has been very successful for the football program in Lewis County. I'm sure that Don can give us numbers and stuff about how much the fullback needs to get the ball in a true Wing T offense.

Back to this week, I think that the Camden game exposed the weakness in the offensive scheme, and I see Coach Sharp making the adjustments and getting them rolling again this week, and we all know that Spiveys got them under control on defense. :)

    Lewis Co. 27

    Fairview 7

  17. Yes. That's correct. Lewis had one really good drive getting a touchdown. Got a safety. Got another on a tipped pass interception that was returned to the 4 yard line. A punt that was blocked on about the 30.

Second half saw Waverly dominate but couldn't get it into the endzone. Twice inside the 5 yard line. ONe of those would have been a touchdown but intercepted an underthrown pass where a Waverly receiver was wide open in back of end zone. Lewis County only had 72 yards total offense in second half. Starters played the whole game. Hatton had two of the last 3 carries with Greve carrying the other.

Total yardage for game Lewis County 220 yards, Waverly 157 yards.

    Waverly 5 turnovers.

Lewis County dominated the first half, scores 24 points

Waverly dominated the second half, scores 0 points....even with the ball inside the 5 twice

Kinda sounds like that Lewis County's defense dominated more to me
