1. In the Ooltewah bracket, i know its:

    Ooltewah

    Signal Mtn

    South Doyle

    Cleveland

    Notre Dame

I'm not sure How good these teams are other the Ooltewah. Does anybody else want to fill us in?

Signal Mountain is no longer in the Owls bracket. They withdrew from the tournament last week.

  2. Here's the thing. We've seen the scenario before when everyone comes out of the gate singing Ooltewah's praises. Of course I'm an Ooltewah fan, and as an alum, they're my team! But, let's see a few weeks of the season. It's so hard to tell anything after pre-season games...even after early season games.

The Red Bank - Ooltewah series will be good, and it'll come down to who shows up on each night. These matchups are where I wish we could District teams play each other 6 or 8 times. 3 to 4 games in a back -to-back series is the best way to determine the better "team." BUT, we don't have that...so it comes down to who shows up on which nights.

Red Bank has the proven pitching, but you can only ride 2 or 3 guys so far. This series will come down to offense. Especially in the first game when Baugh pitches for Ooltewah. Whoever swings it will win. And trust me OwlsuWish, 90 miles an hour just means it goes back out that much faster. At the AAA level, 90 is good, but it doesn't win championships. I'd rather have an average pitching staff and a better than average lineup than a better than average pitching staff and an average lineup...in high school at least.

Who knows...a lot can happen between now and then...I can't wait to get out there and see each team! That's the best level of baseball in this city by far!

  3. Guys you just need to ignore posters like Owlsuwish22. He's either a player on another team, a senior that got cut, or a disgruntled parent. Every year there are two or three of them on these boards. If you'll read all of his posts (all 4 of them), he hasn't said anything that's made sense. Just running his mouth trying to get to you. Just ignore him.

  4. I wasn't trying to start up that whole argument. I was just saying that I think Red Bank and Ooltewah will be a good matchup. I know it's not productive to compare hypothetical situations. So please don't interpret my post as stirring the pot.

What if the queen had a SET, they would call her KING? What if Ridgeland had Napier, What if Ringgold had Covington, What if , wht if , what if.....holy cow!! There is no need for Red Bank, Soddy, or Central even playing a district schedule this season. The OWLS are so dang good, the others do not stand a chance. The 3 "lesser" teams will have to battle it out for 2nd.

And also, I don't think it's a given the Owls will run away with the district. They should be the favorite though. I do believe they will be able to put runs on the board, but do they have a deep enough pitching staff to win those Monday-Tuesday district games against RB? They'll have to be strong both nights and the offense will need to produce.

  5. What if Walden was going to be at Ooltewah where he is supposed to be? They would definitely make a run at state. I think they still can as long as they can score enough runs. As an "old Owl" I've got the Red Bank/Ooltewah games marked on my calendar.

Good to see you on here Catsbackr!

  6. He was clocked at a couple of showcases this summer at 88. Last spring against Lookout Valley a college coach clocked him consistently at 85 and he touched 87. He has definitely gotten stronger and is throwing very well.

Who does he play for in the summer?

  7. I wouldnt reccommend this game it is a complete waste the choosing of this is strickly politics. There is multiple players that should have been choosen for this over some that did. I personally think stump is a complete uneducated baseball professor he needs to stick to stuntin. He is a complete lard who talks and eats his hardees double deckers. He needs to stick to eating hotdogs from sonic. He reminds me of a white t-pain who sings about his sonic hot dogs. He likes long strolles on the beach with dr. Dre.

Hey funfan, just hit the Log Out button at the top of the page, and never come back to CoachT.com again. We won't miss your two posts. I'm sure you're not a disgruntled parent of a kid who isn't playing in the game...and I"m positive you're not a player who didn't get selected to play in the game...

  8. Your completely right. MC won't have to put up more than five for him to win any game. Glad you agreed.

Ok. 1st- Loretto, compared to what they've had the last 4 yrs, does have all junk pitchers...and please don't throw out Wright's name as a flame thrower. So, yeah, to everyone else, all you have is junk pitchers, because the last few years you've had guys throwin upper 80's, lower 90's. Unless Lamn's pulled one out of his ***, Loretto has none near that.

2nd- I know Lamn is not very worried about the tournament. He is competitive, but he knows winning the district is most important. May be Loretto didn't throw their ace, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't because of the tourney this wkd.

Watch the language SuperSport...and everyone else..there's no need for that. Thanks! -Grad

  9. All I know is these single-A schools are the area's best CoachT posters! Some of these discussions between CSAS and Temple and Grace and Lookout Valley are the best EVER! I'm looking forward to the CoachT.com fights almost as much as the baseball games!

  10. Ok, we've got Central, Ooltewah, Red Bank, and Soddy Daisy.

This district always has its favorites, and then in the end it never matters. I see this as a three-way battle between Red Bank, Soddy, and Ooltewah. Central could be the spoiler if they have a good game on the right day!

Coach Garland at Soddy always talks his guys down, but always ends up with one of the better teams. Massey at Ooltewah lost some key players, but have a lot of young talent. Red Bank is going to have some good pitching, but can they score runs? I could say more to stir the pot even more, but I wont for now!

    Let's hear it!

    Results on opening day.:

    Ooltewah 16, Grace 2

Baylor 16, Soddy Daisy 2 (Soddy wore the wrong jersey)

    Red Bank 7, Ringgold 5

    Hixson 5, Central 0

  11. Unfortunately, all this topic is good for is exactly this...keeping us all busy refreshing the browser to see someone else's complaints!

Ronnie Carter and TSSAA are the most worthless team of "professionals" I have heard of. Well, the ACLU takes that one - but barely. There will NEVER be any relief to this money hungry organization until some rich Tennessean steps up to the plate and delivers us a good secondary option. Insurance is the biggie....it could be run like a business, and infrastructure would be no problem. In all honesty, it would be better.

  12. QUOTE(Grundyplayer @ Jun 10 2007 - 08:58 PM) 826473637What kind of talent does Wiggins have each year ? And what is his record year in year out ? Who promotes there kids better than Wiggins ? Here is one that is even better ? How long has Wiggins coached high school football ? He Coached for college prior to Coaching High School Ball... I stand by my opinion that Coach Wiggins is a better coach. Honestly if he coached Ooltewah, they would have won state. JMO. (Oh and Wiggins won, with almost everyone)

There was a variety of kids from EVERY team in the area when Wiggins coached.

I'm a Wiggins fan! I think he's a great coach! But he's also the same coach that didn't want to pick DeWayne Caldwell for the TN team last year.

Quit arguing over which coach is better. They are both great coaches.

  13. QUOTE(Solomon @ Mar 30 2007 - 09:55 AM) 826426382Every game is on XM. But, they either use the home team or ESPN announcers on their broadcasts. The only thing I wish they would change is to offer every broadcast. For example, I'm a huge St. Louis man and I'd much rather hear Mike Shannon call a game in Colorado rather than the Rockies play by play guy.

Ohhh...well then you'll have to pay $14.95 and listen to it at your computer with MLB.com!

  14. QUOTE(wingman10 @ Mar 21 2007 - 05:30 PM) 826419605One of my kids got me a subscription to MLB.com for Christmas where I can listen to any baseball games. This is my first try ....not bad at all. I listened to parts of the Cubs game and parts of the White Sox game today. I may listen to a bit of the Doidgers game tonight. Wish I had listen more to Harwell when he was with the Tigers. Too bad he retired.

I signed up the other day for the radio broadcasts so I could catch my brother's game. The radio is very reasonable. $14.95 get's you both home and away broadcasts to every game for the entire year - including post-season.

Another great option is the MLBtv! It's only $90 and you get EVERY game televised LIVE on MLB.com! A good friend of mine's dad is the pitching coach for the Dodgers, and he was able to watch all their games last year from FL. It's pretty cool.
