Why would any school board in America inconvenience any student to drive that far out of the way. Central has enough students to have their own football team it seems. Why do they not have one.
-
Why is Murfreesboro Central Magnet not coop with Riverdale in football. This could be a school that feeds them. Central was a middle school at one time and fed Riverdale I believe.
-
The reason that these schools are like they are is simple. Several school districts in moderate sized counties. Many counties like this have favored consolidation. These have chosen a different route. The results create unfavorable situations at times. Mckenzie has swapped from 1A to 2A for years. Huntingdon is beginning to do the same. No real difference.

Always have the larger classes in lower classes if there is an odd number of teams.
-
Single A must have 50 schools in it. That pushes Harriman down. 2A and 3 A must have 50 schools in them so this moves Waverly and Adamsville out of 3A to 2A.
-
My bracket has Waverly and Adamsville in 2A.

This is 2A

1A Cutoff 375 2A cutoff 556 3A cutoff 821 4A cutoff 1102 5 A cutoff 1508 6A begins at 1519
Remember schools can still move up if they choose to.

I believe Gallatin will be the largest 5 A team in the state and Dickson the smallest 6a.

The lower classes will have the lowest numbers therefore Adamsville and Waverly will be in 2A. Also the reason that cities like Memphis have schools that are showing lower numbers are due to fact that the schools have been split. Many charter schools have been started due to the number of failing schools in these areas. The charter schools still coop with the previous school that the students attended. Pearl Cohn coops with MLK but only counts 643. Mlk has 961 students that are not counted on Pearl Cohns enrollment. Memphis East has 491 but coops with Soulsvlle Charter that has 335 students. In most of these cases most schools would move up. Go to http://portal.tssaa.org/common/directory/coop.cfm to see all approved coops and the schools involved and you will be shocked.

The problem with rule change is it's origin. Almost always the NFHSS recommends changes. This rule change is the brainchild of a TSSAA staff member. Coaches, players, and officials should all be involved in education about a problem. If it continues I would then make a recommendation to NFHSS for a rule change. Someone is watching to much college and pros and suggesting the high school football has a problem. How many times have you seen this? We had a call last year and after reviewing film bad call on wrong player and no way to review.

Schools do have input to SRO hired at their schools. Director of schools has full input into who they take.

Bigster word on grapevine and street is your Jr. High QB is headed to a nearby county for next year. Does his dad work at Lake Co. High School? If he does and allows this to happen I would make sure the powers to be helped him find a new job elsewhere. If school is good enough to work for looks like it would be good enough for child to attend. That is unless something else is going on here. Please reply.

The sad part about this is the TSSAA knew this was a possibility before it happened. Since the two schools were banned the TSSAA should have put the 10 teams in one region and the top 8 would have played for the 4 spots. This would have alleviated the problem. The one thing they did do when told about this was move the two banned schools to different regions. This kept one region from having only 3 eligible teams in one region. Looking back it might have prevented two 0-11 teams. The regions need to be balanced more so that everyone has same chance to go as others. Team with 5 teams has a great chance than one with eight. 6A makes playoffs even more sickening. They all get to go.

From what I have been told Coach Woodmore did not want this job. He is happy where he is.

school closing in Shelby county
in Class 1A & Class 2A

We will finish the last year of a two year cycle in 2024-25. Classification will go to a four year cycle again I believe in 25-26. Nothing can be done about school closing and going with another school until reclassify.
