  1. Great thread!!!!!

IMO, wrestling is not nealry as popular as most other sports. The reason is simple: lack of media attention. The liberal media is so stinkin' biased that there's no way they're going to air this hard core sport. I mean this is a sport for men (granted, in tights), not boys. This sport is about life, but these leftists don't want to deal w/ life, they want to show Trista & Ryan's wedding (IMO, way too much pink) or Average Joe Schmo Millionaire or some other garbage. The democrats have really done a number on such. Bush's popularity is very encouraging, and I think his leadership will eventually help w/ things like taxes, the environment and even athletics in general. What we need to do is band together and make sure we turn this ship around. How? you ask. Watch only Fox News - all others are liberal rags. Vote Republican - the only true Americans. Support our troops - the greatest "wrestlers" in the world. Defend our freedoms - down w/ the ACLU.

  2. Reasons Aydelot might leave Hillsboro/Metro:

    1) He's in a thankless, ingrateful system/school. They went 28-2 in '01 & '02 and didn't get a "job well done" let alone a bonus. I doubt their 14-1 w/ a state championshup will be much different his year. I realize that's not why people coach, but we all like to be affirmed every now and again.

    2) He's in an unstable system. With Metro you never know what might happen next. He could walk in today and find out that 3 of his assistants are being relocated to McGavock, but they'll be allowed to remain on the staff at Hillsboro. A lot of good coaches would strongly consider Metro, but there's no way you get to choose a staff, and maybe not even one assistant.

    3) Hillsboro's talent may be on the way down. I hear their size is running out. Seems they'll always have speed, though.

  3. How dare you poke fun at the great Herb Luker!!!! I am appauled and offended by your insinuations. When a man of his intelligence makes a statement like "We went down there to USJ, and they had more blacktop on their campus than we have in the whole city of Collinwood," then you must know that there is indeed some vailidity to it.

Luker goes on to say, "We want this [split] simply because we're not playing on a level field with the privates. If a private school has 300 students, they've hand picked 'em. Some privates stop enrollment at 300 just to stay Class A. It's just not fair." It is obvious that Luker has spent much time at private schools over the years. He seems to have a very clear understanding of the intricacies of private schools. I hear he has worked very closely with many of them to find out exactly how they do things (admissions, fund-raising, etc.). Only after this in-depth research can one form such complex philosophies.

My hat's off to Luker for fighting for such a worthy cause. After all, the last thing we want to see is a team lose a game due to the unfair advanatge of blacktop! Keep fighting Mr. Luker! You're an inspiration to each of us that live on a gravel road.

  4. Bighurt is right. The best offer/bid to the TSSAA was put forth by Murfreesboro. Other cities can bid, and some did, but again the TSSAA felt MTSU/Murfreesboro was best. Nashville lost it several years ago, but still holds the contract for the DII Clinic Bowls. Knoxville has shown some interest. Have heard that Chattanooga and Memphis interest is very limited.

If any of you think you can come up with a better proposal then please submit it to the TSSAA, and NOT on a post on Coach T. I really doubt Ronnie Carter is on here looking for brilliant ideas.

I actually think it is better at MTSU than Vandy. There's no way to play 5 games in 2 days on grass. Sure, 1A might be OK w/ it, but the 5A game would almost always be a mud pit. Parking is better at MTSU. I think MTSU has been far more hospitable than Vandy.

  5. Smith is one of the best HS linemen I've ever seen play. Bolden has a lot of potential. Without actually saying it, I'm agreeing with the previous posts. I am not absolutely sure which I'd rather have fot the next four years on my college team, but I know for sure who I'd rather have had the last several on my high school team: Smith. In fact, I might take one Smith over two Boldens. The best Tyner player won the award.

  6. jet: Is a jerk, but an extremely funny one. However, he is apprently unaware that Tyner's entire program is monitoring the boards and looking for motivation. He's so stupid he probably thinks any program that needs a message board for motivation is getting pretty desperate. Probably is too young to drive; no adult is that sarcastic.

Buddy, you are so clueless. I drive the H2.

I seem to have struck a nerve with you. My sourcres lead me to believe that GP had this one sealed wit the int., but Elrod hit your so called phenom receiver with a bomb just so you could have a chance to kick the miracle fielgoal. And as far as this head removing secondary, why haven't I heard the names Blonkanshik and Lheihining before. You won't have to worry about a fluke victory this week because the rams will be so far in front. What is it with all the lipscomb people on here anyway? I guess you all have so much money you don't have to work. East TN football will prevail as it has in the majority of the matchups.

    CHOO CHOO

We admit it, you are indeed right. GP did in fact seal the deal with the game tying interception returned for a TD after it bounced of DL OT's head. We admit that it wasn't a fluke at all; DL actually practices bouncing balls off OT's heads (even though that's illegal). GP also practices DeCarlos (#77) in drills in which he catches balls off of hard platic objects and returns them for TD's. Furthermore, had DL not hit that fluke of a play late in the game then Robertson wouldn't have been able to kick the 34 yard miracle of a kick and the game would have ended right there at 35 to 35.

The reason you havn't heard of Blonkanshik and Lheihining is b/c that's not their names. It's actually Bleapinship and Lemming.

Oh well, gotta go. Better get back to my yacht. My butler is waxing it, but I'm afraid he's not using virgin lamb's wool to buff my dingy.

I predict either Alcoa or OS soundly beating both of these teams anyway. After all, east Tennessee football is the best, and both of those schools are farther east than Tyner.

  8. I read a quote in this morning's Tennessean from Lou Holtz that fits here.  He was asked about internet chat rooms and he said, "I don't pay attention to anything where people don't have to sign their names."

The same is true for many of the things you read on this message board-especially when it comes to matters regarding private schools.

I think there are some people on these boards who really believe that all successful private schools were founded as a farm system for Division 1 college teams.  All  private school players are recruited and have college football scholarships and NFL contracts waiting on them.

They probably have good reasons to believe this.  Their uncle's, mom's, best friend's, cousin's, mailman's, brother's, fourth wife had a 3rd cousin who dated the father of a guy who was recruited to play at Football Academy.

    Tackle,

You are so very right, my friend. In fact, you are so right that I am going to totally disregard your comments b/c you did not sign your name. By the way, 47% of all statistics are fabricated.

    Sincerely,

    Lou Holtz

  9. 2nd of all you have no idea what you are talking about, Tyner Academy is not a private school, you do not have to pay to go there like a private school, it is a magnet school where the curriculum focuses on certain areas of study, so these kids are interested in studying about in a certain field and trying to do something with their lives,

Oh, now I get it! A magnet school is a school with many of the exact same benefits as a private school (open zones, high academic standards) except it's free.

  10. well...what can I say, this will be a great battle on OS's turf, yall say that OS's line is to big and they will push alcoa around, but the last time these two teams played Oliver Springs didn't dominate anything Alcoa shot their self in the foot time after time with turnovers, Sweetwater only hurt Alcoa with the run because of misdirection plays, and counters, that's not in OS's playbook their gonna try and run right at you, i think it's much harder to stop counters and stuff like that than just power football. On defense I think OS runs a 5-2 or something like that, well I hope they find something to slow down Joei Fiegler and his recievers or you will be in for a long night, but should be a great one.

    Oliver Springs-14

    Alcoa-35

If if and butts were candy and nuts........yep, yep, yep. You aluminum fans are still living off your state championship from 1998!!! This is the year of the purple and gold!!! OS will make mince meat out of Alcoa.

We have a plan for Joei. This week Alcoa, next week TYNER!

Dude, you have no idea what you're talking about. It's as if you're not even remotely clued in as to what's actually going on at OS or Alcoa. Why don't you stick your head back in the hole you must have in your back yard. Alcoa is fer real, dude. They got dat swagger back and are rollin. There's no way OS can shut Alcoa down. The offesne is Hemi-powered!

Alcoa wil romp over OS, Tyner next week, and Milan in da Bowl.

  11. My second round upset prediction is Lipscomb over Houston County. I think Lipscomb will shock the nation this week and pull off the upset of all upsets.

My prediction: Lipscomb 26 (one touchdown on offense, one on defense, one field goal, one drop kick, 3 safeties , and three extra points)and HC 25 (four offensive touchdowns, two of which are by #44 Mitchell, and two more by #28 Harris, and one drop kick).

  12. I hope that you do leave it all on the field juice. I also hope that HC beats DL because I am tired of hearing about how no one in the world can beat them. You can make a team play bad by playing good. Just remember that juice and good luck. Go Tornadoes!!!!

If you'll look closely, about the only one on this board stating that DL is invincible is jettjuice. Apparently he needs something to fire him up for the game. However, I am not sure he actually plays b/c twittycanes keeps asking him his number and he won't say.
