  1. NETFan, you are an idiot. Harrison was one of the best ball players to come through Sullivan Central, played Divison-1 basketball. He has helped coach at Central before taking the Central job. Winning in middle school is no different than high school. Winning is winning. And as a matter of fact, he did coach AAU basketball for high schoolers. He coached my brother when he was in high school back around 1997 and coached me as well during around 2004. Even the referees I've spoke to have nothing but praise for him. One said, "I've seen him take teams that have no business winning half their games to winning state championships." He produces championships every year, even when the talent is not there. His track record speaks for itself.

  2. Is that your best excuse? Thats weak, sounds like a baby crying in the background. And how many years in a row can you losers use that ole' saying "Just wait till' next year" Don't that ever get old with you?

I don't know where you get the losers comment from? When I was there, we almost split with the almighty DB. Central is also 1-1 against DB this year. In fact, if you wanted to go back and look at old records, it wouldn't be very one sided.

Did you even go to DB? I'm sure they wouldn't be too proud of your grammar /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  3. What a bunch of Rednecks. Why don't you hayseeds get together and go Deer Huntin'. No wonder the "big 9" can't compete. TH, SH, & DB needs to join another conference. This deal is a big joke. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Your a joke. Obviously you don't know much besides what you hear on the radio. Cameron Trent from what I know seems to be a class act. I don't know much else from the Volunteer players but Cameron is a great guy. What makes these three teams you mentioned so great?

On Centrals loss, they are missing Mickey Brown. You probably wouldn't know that because I'm pretty sure you don't go to many games. They haven't been the same team since he was hurt. DB was very prepared. If you would watch closely, DB and Science Hill have stole Centrals offense. In fact, they might know it better than Central does. Central is going to have to find a way to adjust to this. Pretty classy how DB kept pressing in the 4th, as well. I would say Central would use that as motivation but with Mick being out its going to be tough. Soak up this year, Waco. I'm sure we won't see much of you next year. Or we will have to hear your expert opinions about how DB needs a new coach.

  4. Tennessee High 54

    Daniel Boone 50

The Vikings pull one out their you know what in overtime tonight in a game that featured the most uneventful first half of basketball I've ever seen (11 to 16 Boone at half). The Vikings couldn't have thrown one into Boone Lake tonight. Tre Webb shot an air ball in front of the Blazer student section early in the game...which spontaneously broke the ol' "air ball, air ball, air ball" chant out...that in turn spurred Webb to a game high 24 point. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Poorly executed game for both teams IMO.

Cap, your boy Webb has really turned into a player. He really impressed me against East. That bench is pretty weak for the Vikings isn't it?

  5. Maybe you and tricitiessportsfan can hook up and hold hands during the game! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Maybe, since you're the big man on campus, can teach your basketball team how to dribble and pass properly. I mean, you guys were talking big game before the Science Hill, and now I don't hear a thing from you guys. Maybe you can tell your team to stop throwing up jump shots that they cannot make. Maybe you shouldn't call me out, because 0% of the people of coachT care about schs78 and me on the other hand? I did start the phenomenon the Inner Circle. People read my posts on here. I can already name Crawdad as a fan of rebelrebelman and I can name zero people who would mind if you deleted your account. Strike up the band! Rebelrebelman 64 - schs78 39!

  6. Knowing many of the players in both groups JRock??¦IMO this group is a more skilled group. It??™s the mentality and the heart that separates these two generations. And with that said I have to admit that YOU ARE RIGHT??¦???Old School??? would run them off the court. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

I don't think they are on the same level. I played against the competition now so I would know. But the game is a lot different than it used to be. Those old guys were much quicker and much bigger. The game was a lot different back then, though. My brother was talking to me about how physical the game has become. He was around during the great years of Science Hill. He said you would be in a fight if you played the way guys do now.

  7. Sorry 'bout that jrock. One of the reason's the talent pool is less here now is because of what CAP1 said. Schools around here care about one thing, and that's their own programs. Some coaches don't help their own players get college scholarships anymore, citing it's "not their job to help them." And having an AAU program would help the player tremendously. Just ask Coach Pitts. He allowed me to coach those 90's boys, because he knew I taught fundamentals and preached for kids to get their grades first, then athletics. Pitts was one of a kind for the Hill and there will not be another like him in our lifetime. I think the biggest turn for me to get out of coaching AAU was the opportunity to coach in TSSAA. I still think about going back a lot, but the politics now is even greater than before with what CAP1 stated being so true. Just a note to all parents.......if you can find a god program that teaches morals, fundamentals, and getting grades first, then AAU can be a wonderful tool for your child t be one ofthe area's best and good looks for a scholarship. GOD BLESS!!!!!

That is true. I think it starts a lot with kids when they are younger, though. Too many Dads coaching that have no business. Even in middle school, the best teams don't even play each other. I remember back when I was younger Omar and a lot of the Toppers were competiting for States in AAU. This area could really use an AAU team such as the Midstate Ballers and the Travelers.

  8. Don't sell those old heads out. No disrespect to any players of today, but I believe Nookie was the best guard to come out of East TN in the last 30 years. He just couldn't keep his head focused. Wilson shotthree left handed, and he is right handed. That team went 33-1 that summer, only losing in the final four of the nationals. You don't see much pressing anymore, and we had probably the best 1-2-1-1 press out there. And I forgot to mention Clay Potter from South, Ryan Black and Fred Smith (DB).

No I don't think you understood me. Cap1's group wouldn't even be in the same league as that team. The guys you mentioned were competiting for State Championships. Wait sorry, winning State Championships. The talent in East Tennessee will probably never be that good again.

  9. It was good to see you at the Elizabethton AAU tourney CAP1. That team had all the makings of a great team from this area. How did you guys fair this summer? I would have loved to see a game between them and my 94 team with Jovann Johnson, Caleb, Gilmer, Raymond Lee, Brad Fields, Nookie Bailey, Tylee Henry, OD Williams, Nathan Norman, and Johnathan Wilson. That would be a good game. Anyway... I look forward to seeing a lot of the Big 9 this year with the limited time I have this year. GOOD Luck to all teams!!!! GOD Bless!!!!

Stokomo, YOU should know better than to compare your team with that bunch. They wouldn't come within 50. I still remember seeing you all play.

  10. Wow, why do people even talk about SCHS, theres no way they can even keep up with a team like the hill. Dickie Jr. and Gabe the slave could have career nights and the score still wouldnt be close.

That may have been Phil's worst game this year and maybe even last year. You obviously didn't go to the game or have ever seen them play so you'll find out eventually.

  11. Those Science Hill teams were tough. But I watched all of the rest of the teams and I still believe we just happened to get the worst draw of anyone there. Bolivar could beat anyone in the state tournament and they are probably one of the best teams in the nation. Give us any other team and might have been in the second round.

  15. i have heard that db has 3, 4 or maybe even 5 legitimate college-potential players in their freshman class of this year. the names i have heard are sylvester being the best all around player, jordan edwards bein a 6'5" post player, michael willis bein a good athlete, and dustin mcconnell a 6"1" shooter and an osborne kid, point guard that has potential. i know skunk was around seviers team last year and knows alot, and i was wondering if he or anyone else that knows these players can give me the true scouting report on them...

    thanks!!

It's pretty hard to have 5 players in the region go to college but 5 on one team? Holston almost beat Sevier anyways. Sylvester will be pretty good though. I've seen him play a lot, he's gonna be pretty tough.
