  1. QUOTE(Handyman21 @ Mar 4 2007 - 04:06 PM) 826399499[/snapback]That's what I'm here for lol. are you going to be at the game?

I don't know. I'm from Cosby, but I have a cousin who's a sophomore player at PF. I may go support him.

  2. I just looked at some pictures of Cosby in action and they look kind of slow to me. Looks like ACC(West) against the Ivy league(East). I believe some full court pressure defense will have looking them for oxygen.

Well, as the photographer who probably took the pictures that you were just talking about, slow action makes better pictures, at least on my camera. For every one picture I keep, I probably delete 5 where the action is so fast it is nothing but a blur. I delete several where the other team is crystal clear and Cosby players are a total smudge.

Speaking of pictures, I should be at school tomorrow and I'll try to have your sub-state pictures on the wall by the end of first block. I don't have many. I couldn't get good shots from the positions I was relegated to because of the crowds.

  3. no one can run with them...they are fast and their speed plus ability is winning games big.

Just hope Matthew McGaha or Russell Valentine can fill the role of Hewitt - if in fact he is injured badly.

I didn't get to watch tonight, as I soccer had concession stand duty, but Matthew really impressed me at Pigeon Forge the other night. He's strong, got good speed, and no fear. I was thinking the other day that if he had played all four years, he would be doing a fairly awesome job now. I think he can step up.

  4. Certainly a wake-up call for the Eagles.

Its good to beat Rockwood by 28, but i was worried about the big-head syndrome after that. In reality, this loss for Cosby was probably the best thing that could've happened to them.

They'll have their work cut out for them in their Christmas Classic @ Union County.

AAA Cherokee, AA Rutledge and some team from Kentucky.

I had the exact same thought after the game last night, PT. If they had to lose, this was a good one to lose because it doesn't count toward any standings that matter, at least, that matter come tournament time. Second, while it's nice to go undefeated, they weren't playing perfect. This will hopefully allow them to refocus as they go into the second half of the season.

  6. Ya, his name is Spencer Grooms. He must have just transferred, because he was dressing on the football team at CCHS.

Spencer transferred at the nine weeks, before football season was technically over, but I actually don't think that was the freshman from Grammar School that CosbyEagle was talking about.

I'm not sure what Roger Blakely's official role is on the basketball team. Officially, Eric is an assistant coach.

  7. Cosby has en excellent class of Freshmen this year that have played together in AAU for years. Whitney Hartsell is starting point guard for the varsity squad and would have gotten a lot of play time if she had been allowed to play high school ball her 8th grade year. I hate to name others in case I leave someone out, but Hartsell, Stevie Gorrell, Kalsea Mantooth, and Preanna Davis as freshmen varsity players give Coach Payne a deep bench when Vasquez, Hannah, Webb, Chandler, et. al., need a break.
  8. Well I hope Blakely, Manning, Jennings, and Roan drop 40 on.............. The playstation games they will be playing for the next few months. CosbyEagle, support your team and quit whinning. Hackler has a little something called heart, sorry that you have to get on a kid for getting pumped up. I mean all he did was put in 8 and shut your big man down, are you coming to the game tomorrow? That is a long trip for someone to come and watch the team play that has ended your season 2 years in a row.........

    Go Tigers!!!!!

Rockwood didn't end Cosby's season last year.

  9. Just to confirm goosevol, he summed up the last 1.5 of overtime correctly. It wasn't the refs fault. I thought it was a great game. Midway trailed through most of the game and when they came back, it surprised everyone. I want to congratulate the GreenWave on a terrific season. You all seem to be a good bunch of kids and I wish you all the luck, except when you are playing Cosby, of course. Thanks for cheering for us in the District Championships, and I hope you'll come out to support District 3 teams Thursday.

I do have some pictures of the game. Not all of them are posted.
