  1. I have trouble seeing Alcoa jump in there so high. I haven't seen them play, but I don't think they're a No. 7 team in East TN. Also I have trouble seeing AE dropping out so fast. What made them drop in your opinions, imrightyourewrong?? Otherwise I like the top 5, Farragut deserves to drop and Maryville deserves to be right behind them. Haven't seen Catholic play yet, but if the hype is correct, I guess they deserve to be No. 5.
  2. Dickenson would be the shooter I would worry about most. He doesn't seem like he could actually throw the ball to the rim from that far away, but he can, and pretty well too. I wouldn't worry too much about Holliday though, since Gaskin or Tipton could probably handle him.
  3. Yea I don't really agree with some of your statements either, JMo. I believe Maryville could come in and play with about 80% of their potential and still beat Bearden. But yes, hitting threes all night long will improve Bearden's chances of winning, and I don't think the inside matchup will be a problem at all. Bearden will have to play a really good game to steal this from the Rebels. As for that 'block'....
  4. I don't really see the Cherokees coming into Farragut and beating them. If it was at SD, then maybe I could see the upset. Also a lot depends on whether Farragut wins/loses against Clinton tomorrow night.
  5. Farragut doesn't rely on Greg to make the outside shot. In fact this has probably been his worst shooting year that I have seen. What Farragut does rely on Greg for is his point guard abilities. Since the only true point guard the Admirals have doesn't see tremendous amounts of playing time Greg has to run the point, but when he comes out, you can see that the team struggles without him. But I agree with you Beachvol, I don't see Farragut going much farther than the region. Even though they should be able to with as much talent as they have on the team. Why didn't Tim just dunk it???
  6. How does Farragut's loss to Maryville change these??
  7. Oh that definitely stinks for Farragut. I didn't attend this game because I figured the Ads would be able to pull out a victory, but apparently I should have gone. I sat and did nothing instead. Any other details to add?? So how does anybody predict a change in rankings?? Also, Farragut Baseball is human too, they lost early, then went undefeated the rest of the way...who knows..
  8. And that was a horrible post. Were you talking yallalreadyknow??
  9. I would go at 7. I was on my way home and I saw Gibson heading to the school; I surmise that he is going there for their shoot-around then they'll ride a bus over. So that would make me think about 7 for a gametime start.
  10. Thats good for Farragut then, Maryville losing will definitely play on tomorrow night's game.
  11. Anyone know who won Maryville vs Alcoa?
  12. Agreed, I believe Farragut's talent can carry them for a while, but eventually kids do need to be coached. Donny D would help his own case to do a little coaching every once and a while.
  13. I wouldn't call Bearden a complete team either. They have a few good scattered players but they don't come together well as a team. They should use Holliday more to open up outside shooting for Dickenson, who is the size of my pinky but can still fill up the threes. But I wouldn't call Maryville a complete team either. Without having a strong point guard in the game, or anyone else besides Gaskin or Tipton, all they have to rely on is those two players. And however good they might be, it is hard to win state championships on just two players. Being 10-0 is a great accomplishment for Farragut, but I wouldn't expect them to just roll right through Maryville.
  14. Which teams are you wanting to compare???
  15. But they shouldn't lose to Clinton, and if they do they should only drop a spot or so; losing to an unranked team.
  16. But it is a lot of fun to be able to boast that title. Being No 2 in the nation is something even more to brag about though.
  17. Good assessment Govman, glad for the support. Coach D is a good guy, fun to be around and knows the sport. But I can't help to sometimes question his coaching and especially his substitutions. Then again, if all the fans didn't criticize coaching, the sport would be boring. I'm sure its a tough job to do and this year he's doing a good job of doing it.
  18. Agreed, I am a loyal Farragut fan but I do not see them as the best team in the State. I would go with White Station. Do not get me wrong though, they are a good team. Hoops4ever, where did you find this ranking with them as No. 1? Maryville vs Farragut does promise to be an exciting game; with Farragut just coming off a big championship tournament win and Maryville now at full strength, everyone who is capable of being there should. I know I will be. Go Admirals!!
  19. So if Farragut kept winning and Bradley Central lost a game, would they move up into the top spot??
  20. Drop me an email @ melkor2114@hotmail.com We can work something out, make sure you tell me what size.
  21. Thanks for clearing that up! I was quite confused when I saw the presentation last night, and that was the only explanation I could come up with. But you don't think that Bearden would want 3 of the 5 all team members to be Admirals?!?!? Haha Pretty sure #20 from Fulton is named Tylon Gibson. He's a good solid point guard that can distribute the ball very well, and can drive and shoot the three.
  22. Yes and they both deserved those awards. But I personally can't see why Hunter wasn't on the All-Tournament Team, he had double figures in both games that I saw, and I'm sure he scored enough against Jeff Co. Can anyone explain why he would not be on it? I mean they only had 3 players for the All-Tournament Team and if I am not mistaken I think it takes 5 to make a basketball team. Were there players on it from other teams???
  23. Good Rankings. I'm glad to see Farragut so close to the top. Its been a while since that has happened, but I don't think they are going to pass up Bradley Central if all the hype about them is true. Don't know if Bearden should be that high up though; Howard would be a mediocre team if I had it my way, and then losing to Farragut again! Everything else looks decent.
  24. One last note... if anyone would like to purchase an '04 Farragut Domination tshirt, with the scores of the Farragut-Bearden games and a picture of a disappointed Bearden crowd with subscript "FAILURE When your best just isn't good enough"...give me an email with a shirt size..$6 per shirt melkor2114@hotmail.com ...Bearden fans, you can get them too, its okay to be humble
  25. Yea thats pretty spectacular, someone if you read this please tell me I would like to know...
