Coach Moore will be 9-2 !!

  2. We can not get an article about the baseball or softball standings.

But in the Monday News Sentinel our PREPXTRA beat writer has written up Carson Newman Golf.

    Congratulations on the promotion.

  3. Drove to College Square Mall

(careful with the red light camera)

    bought a Knoxville News Sentinel

    for the PREPXTRA.

Shocked that there was no listing

    of the district standings.

It is the end of the regular season.

Sure there are some tight races and

    no standings.

    If I had a computer

I would check the standings on line.

  4. The next coach at Central will be Mitch Mitchell. He is now the ast coach to Coach Mercer. He did a great job at Lenior City and set the stage for Buell at Carter. There is little doubt that Coach Mercer will be the next boys coach at Powell and the John Fisher will be the next girls coach at Powell.

Back to the S-D job, lets make a list

    Rodney Nelson

connected to south knox, experienced, proven track record

    Coach Darden

connected to south knox, experienced ,proven track record

    Rick Sinard

no connection to south knox, experienced, proven track record (great sucess in the 90's)

    Young guys

    ast coach from West (Sticks)

in the knox system, college connections

middle school coach from S-D middle

    knows the community

    Tony Scott

    worked for Hutch,worked for stomper

must like working with coaches that wear cowboys boots HA HA

add to the list and list positives

  5. SouthKnoxPrince

The job at S-D just got alot better.

Leaving District 4 and joining the IMAC.

No more Bearden, Farragut, Maryville, William Blount

now they face Cherokee, Cocke County, Mo East, JCHS,

    Sevier County, Seymour, Morristown West..

    Greeneville is dropping to AA.

2009-2010 East will be the heavy favorite

(depending on who the new coach is)

but after that is is wide open and BAD !!!!

  6. AD Calvin Decker (great basketball coach Cherokee & Mo East)

& Prin. Gary Johnson both want a coach that will be there for 10 years or more.

They do not want to go through this hiring process every couple of years.

That has happened too often @ East.

Whoever is hired will have to prove they are going to stay.

Mr. Johnson wants this to be the last basketball coach that he has to hire.

The question is do you want a proven head coach with a long track record

or a young up and coming coach.

If you look TSSAA the request is for :

EXPERIENCE, MATURITY, knowledge of the game,

high morals, leadership ability, disciplinarian and a desire to win.

Does not sound like they are looking for a young coach.

Sounds like when they wrote the job description they had

Coach Billy Ray Duncan in mind.

If they can not find the right man for the job

look for coach Decker to take the job back for a year or 2.

He is not going to allow this program that he built to fall apart.

Does anybody remember where this program was after the Morrisson era.

    1 Bill Duncan

    2 Rick Sinard

    3 Jeremy Parrott

4 Tony Scott (yes I do rememeber when he helped Stomper)

  7. BILLY RAY DUNCAN

upset that Greeneville moved down in classification

bitter that his players were suspended for the district tournament

    native of Cocke County

    has dominated the district

close enough that he can maintain his recruiting connections

    can win immediately.

This job is made for Coach Duncan.

    Rick Sinard

if Coach Duncan is not interested

    Sinard is the 2nd choice

    Derek Creech

Walters State Ast. played at Mo East

    for Coach Cranford

    Tracy Beets

    ast Mo West

former head coach @ West Greeene

    WILDCARD

former East coach now in GA

    Mike "Stomper" Duffie

Last East coach to make substate.

This is what they say at the Hardees in White Pine.

    Good Luck to Coach Wright

  8. You can be a 'non faculty' coach

but you must be on the coaching staff

    not a volunter.

    "non faculty freshman coach"

    OR

    "non faculty JV coach

    POWELL

    freshman 'non faculty 'coach Dinkins

    JV coach Roberts- TEACHER

    BEARDEN

    JV 'non faculty' coach Barnes

    freshman coach Carter TEACHER

    hope this helps

  9. It is Mid-Jan and we finally get a PREPXTRA

    BASKETBALL started MID-Nov.

The key to getting more HS coverage

    is smaller print.

Some teams have reported 1 game some report 15.

    Paper will blame ccoach.

Only list those reporting 8 games or more

and why would a coach send in stats

to a paper that has not ran stats and it is MID jan.

    Not only no SPECIAL SECTION

but nothing mentioned on the front of the paper to look for

    PREP (less)TRA.

  10. According to THE KNOXVILLE NEWS SENTINEL

Bradley Central is now in the Powell district

"Powell remains unbeaten in District 3-AAA"

I am frustrted with the lack of coverage and the miscoverage.

A terrible prep lesstra basketball preview.

*listed 10 biggest games of the year

how many of the 10 will get covered

Maryville/Bearden 2 weeks ago no coverage.
