  1. Very impressed with those two young ladies!!

I could tell in warm-ups that those two were ballerz.

#3 i guess was Jarrett?? She is the fastest girl I have seen yet.

Or at least quickest...and she has a nice jumper too.

Then you put Prather inside to dominate and step out when she

    wants.

We look forward to seeing you all do well this year and

    maybe we will meet again!

  2. I had to leave at half...how did this one end up???

Wooddale was very impressive. Really liked their coach too...Thomas Johnson, I believe???

Havent really heard much of them, but I expect too after their performance today.

Their guard play and inside presence can match just about anyones.

  3. Gomab,

Probably the biggest mover this year on everyones rankings is Albert Harris.

Hes back my friend. Lets get the word out that he is ready to play college basketball. Last year he had a breakout football season and thought that

was the way he was going to go. Now, he is focused on getting the Roadrunners

back to state and furthering his hardcourt career. He just scored 35 on

then undefeated Fulton (who everyone knows plays the best defense in the state).

You want to talk about complete player...There is not another point guard in this state (now that Jamont left) that plays like Albert. Johnny Lee is a better scorer, but Albert is a winner, a leader, a whatever it takes kinda kid, with a GREAT ATITUDE (Unlike Jamont), and I would take him into any battle anytime anywhere. He is averaging these stats and doesnt even take very many shots or stay on the court very long due to them blowing the teams out and Austin East having lots of scorers.

Just tell uncle to put Jeff at 2 and get ready to shoot...

  4. I think Howard is the best team in East TN when they play and especially when Henderson and Ray are hot they are almost unbeatable. Alcoa is the other that is playing really well. Didnt AE just hand Howard a loss?

However, I think Giles and Bolivar and probably a couple other teams may have something to say about that. But Howard sure has a shot at giving them a run for their money.

  5. Everyone come and support local basketball. Hopefully, it will be another great night of good competition between two county rivals for nothing else but headlines in the Courier. Clinton took the first match-up by 1 pt. How many points is home court worth in this battle? Last year it seemed to be worth lots.

Heck, it looks like one of the better games around. Seems like Clinton is one of the better places around to watch some good basketball with some fans in the stands for both teams.

Saw Vibbert, Borum, and Shoemaker at the UT game last night. Isn't it sad that on a night off of basketball we still go and watch basketball? Junkies I guess...

Im not making any predictins, but Im sure you all will...Last time guesses were all over the board.

  6. Dont know where chill is this morning, but Scott just played their butts off.

AC started out missing layups and free throws, got down 11-0 or something and then ended up getting ahead as many as 9 or themselves before Chanoitt got hurt at a crucial juncture and Scott came roaring back.

Chanoitt was on the way to having the game of the year until his ankle twisted. He later returned but by then the damage had been done. It was a great high school game and one similar to the UNC/DUKE game last night except no OT.

Down by 2 Humphrey hits a 3 with around 20 secs left...AC by 1. The ball gets knocked out in back court with 15.7. A jump ball occursin the paint with 6.7 and then the underneath inbounds went to Boshears and he wiggled around for a jumper with 1.7...Scott by 1. Channoit clanged the rim from 35 at the horn.

  7. Dean and Warren are becoming one of the best big men combos around. That just makes all of their guards that much more dangerous. Toro has seemed to really come on at the right time too.

hey chs, it looks like clinton has a great shot at getting out of your region this year. Go Get it. It really took that game against you all to wake us up and remind us that basketball is fun when you put it all on the line. I still wish all games were like that one.

I dont really want to get into who we can beat or this and that, but with the AE loss it sure appears that AE and Fulton are more vulnerable this year than they have been combined in a long long time. But they both understand what tourney time is about and usually decide to raising the level at that time. We have beat what appears to be #1 alcoa though at their place and then they came to our place and beat us. So we match-up well with anyone as long as we are focused and hit the open looks and rebound.

Just about a month to go...it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

  8. When was the last time Fulton lost 5 in a row?

Maybe their shots will fall a bit better tonight.

Unfortunately, no Justin Long and no Tylon Gibson leaves 10 fairly good ball players but none are great scorers. They will out defense you and out rebound you to win. Powell should equalize them on the boards and offensively should be superior. I would like to see the Cooper/Smith battle. Two of the best post presences in the area. If Fulton regroups and comes out as a fighting team they could get dangerous come tourney time.

  9. I wonder if playing Fulton last night will take something out of AE. With the comfortable lead (until a late comeback) most players were able to rest though. Alcoa can put a loss on anyone and especially at home. I just think AE is too deep with too many atheletes. Dean and Warren should dominate for Alcoa though and make it awful tough. My boy Al Harris is in full football mode now. He missed like 10 layups last night and got his layup blocked. That never happens. Hes just keeping in shape with some light Road Running. But any night the old Albert could show up and getcha.

  10. Well Chill, I dont know if you were there or not B) , but I agree that Powell could definitely cause some problems in that district. Smith is very formidable inside. They have enough other skill position players to be dangerous. I dont think they shot very well for whatever reason. The big difference between this one and the last game was the defensive rebounding for AC. They didnt allow Powell to dominate them on the boards as they had previously.

  11. Heard one even better- He will be attending the Academy of Brentwood.

You think Brandon will be able to use him effectively?

WOW! I know Im getting a bit ahead of myself here, but could this be the best high school team to have ever formed??

Gomab, I thought you were coaching in Illinois? Whats going on with ya?
