  1. So I was sitting at my computer and thinking about my days on the boys soccer team at Farragut. I was also pondering how the boys were looking this year. I graduated in 2003 and was a part of (what I see as) the most crucial Farragut soccer season ever. Right now I am no longer playing, and I am about to graduate from my college: so please, anyone explain the following:

-Back then we had a 'death squad,' does that still exist?

-Who are some of the top goal scorers; and even more importantly, who are the kick butt defenders that are holding the team up?

-Will someone PLEASE make sure and post the tournament schedule so that I might come down and see a game (a good one hopefully).

-Which teams give Farragut a good run for their money? Bearden anymore?

  2. i feel that there are too many powerful and/or more skilled players on FHS and BHS for any other team in the state to handle this past year. it's a risk saying i know, i just dont see many high school teams that play the season we do being better than either team... Our defenses are too powerful and our offenses are as well...

  3. I'm not from either team...but i saw it and it was a rediculous game...both teams took cheap shots and the ref let the game out of his hands...it was saddening to watch that kind of soccer...Didn't matter though, neither team had a chance against the the admirals.

  4. Are you joking...they didnt drop the ball back in a sportsmanship manner? I'm sure that it wasnt Britton Colquit that attacked Ian Backstrom the minute Ian touched the ball, making Ian turn 180 degrees to find a man quick...Besides we were in the middle of an attack and we kindly knocked it out of bounds. Watch the tape.

Check Coacht for the pics of the game...tell me that wasnt a handball...

  5. OK..first things first...Both teams are obviously the best teams in the state. It was appearent with the semi-final scores of 4-0 and 6-0... Congrats to Farragut for the victory, it has been long awaited and too sweet to talk about. I would have liked the game in Knoxville seeing that the fan support woould have multiplied about 200X...no exaggeration. Good game to both teams. Everyone played well.

This is on another note however...

I read the Knoxville paper this morning where of course the game is on the front page. Turner said some things that just were rediculous in my opinion. He is trying to pull the glory of Farraguts state championship away from them. I have never held respect for the man but it seems he has crossed the line with some of the 'things' he has said to the press...I encourage everyone to check it out...If not, ask, and I am sure someone or myself will quote him for you...Trust me, that ref was not one bit one-sided to Farragut's advantage.

But besides the jerk...to everyone else involved with Bearden soccer...you all are tough and the best around definitely. Keep it up and good luck next year with whatever u decide to do

  6. put yourself in farraguts position and say you wouldnt celebrate. they beat a very good team, and a huge rival, that has been the only stopping point for farragut for a few years. great game. dont know if the ejection would have changed a whole lot both teams blew a load of chances. the ref sucked both ways. robby had an offsides call by the fat ref in the 1st...bearden won a heck of more 50/50s and played great. doyles did well. im done. later.
