  4. The top 5 teams in the state went to CASL back in December:

    Team...W/L/D

    PSA.....2-1-0

    MFC.....1-2-0

    Lions....1-2-0

    Crush...0-1-2

    TNFC....0-2-1

Lot's of good players played against some of the best from other states. Draw your own conclusions.

You have to look at what bracket and the standared of teams that were played by the TN teams.

TNFC played the #1 team in North Texas and State Champions from Ohio. Crush played the #2 in North Texas, the #2 in GA

  5. Last week in East Ridge TSSA held it's Div.III tourny. I was wanting some feed back to how it went. Everything from fields to Refs to level of play?

Didnt hear much about it as I was at the Div I tournament in Smyrna held the same weekend. One thing I did hear was that at the younger ages there was quite a few teams who should have been playing Div II.

  6. I guess this goes to show how many people really wanted the DB coaching job Make you wonder!!!!!!!!

KINGSPORT -- An old coach is new again.

Dobyns-Bennett has appointed former coach Rick Everroad as the interim soccer coach to replace the departed Bill McCloskey, who has accepted a coaching job at Smyrna High School in Middle Tennessee.

Everroad was the Dobyns-Bennett Boys Soccer Coach during the 1992 season, with his team posting a 13-2-4 record on its way to a regional championship and Final 8 appearance. He also coached in the Kingsport Youth Soccer Association from 1980-1990, winning three state championships. Everroad also coached football, basketball, baseball, track, cross-country, and tennis at John Sevier Middle School from 1967-1978. He most recently served as principal of Robinson Middle School. He retires from that job officially on June 30.

“We are excited to have Coach Everroad lead our soccer program for the 2007-08 season,'' said D-B Athletic Director Cary Daniels. "His 40-plus years as a teacher, principal and coach will be a valuable asset to our program.”

Any boy or girl interested in playing soccer at Dobyns-Bennett during the 2007-08 season should attend an organizational meeting in the Dobyns-Bennett High School soccer building on Monday, July 9 at 10 a.m.

KINGSPORT -- Long-time Dobyns-Bennett soccer coach Bill McCloskey has stepped down to accept a coaching job elsewhere.

A search is under way to find his replacement.

"We were very fortunate to have had Coach McCloskey run our soccer program for the last 14 years,'' said athletic director Cary Daniels. "We wish him nothing but the best in his new coaching position.'

It is unclear where McCloskey will be going. An announcement is expected later.

McCloskey had a 178-114-39 record at D-B in boys' soccer and a 242-101-33 record in girls' soccer.

His girls won nine region championships, won a state title in 1995 when they were ranked No. 6 in the nation, were runners-up in 1994 and made the Final 4 in the state in 1993 and 1998.

  9. QUOTE(allsoccer @ May 31 2007 - 01:26 PM) 826469658[/snapback]in the u17 group, who else is playing? Isn't there another team from Chattanooga and Knoxville? I am hearing that MFC could beat the Arsenal and TNFC this year. What does anyone think about that??

The u-17s will be TNFC Blue, KFC, MFC, PSA, Ultralions and Eastridge. some teams still have games to play and need to get them played. MFC will play KFC in the first game at 1pm on Saturday so that will prove if MFC are ready.

  10. u-14 - TNFC (won the R3PL) or TN Rush

u-15 - This is the most open group in the tournament, East TN, Eastridge, Gryphons, TNFC, Memphis, TN Rush anybody could win.

u-16 - Should be Kickers or KFC, but could be a surprise from Middle TN

u-17 - TNFC or KFC, MFC and PSA may push them close but they are a level below

u-18 - Could be anybodies, depends which players are really bothered.
