I have no idea how the selection was made but I know many times factors like travel distance and player schedules, especially graduated seniors have an impact. They may have been invited but could not make the commitment. I have photos from the A/AA finals and the Anderson County team was great. Yes, WCDIV, you are correct. Many times players turn down the invitation to play in the TACA All Star Match because of their summer commitments and schedules.

TACA VOLLEYBALL ALL STAR MATCH

AAA match @ 2 PM CST, A-AA match @ 4 PM CST. Admission, I believe, is $5.00

A coach must be a current member of TACA in order to nominate players [class of 2008]

I believe there are several things that have to be considered. First, I know of one lady that was asked to play but had other commitments. Second, my understanding is that the coaches are asked to submit seniors from their teams and then from that list, the girls are voted on. So, maybe with the transition of coaches at AC, neither of the girls was "nominated".

 

Regarding who's not playing, more glaring to me, since they were the A-AA champions, is the lack of any Notre Dame players of which I believe they had five seniors, with one signing D1, one signing D2 (plus one walking on at a D1 school) and two of them making first team All-state and the third player, second team.

Schools must be members of the TACA for coaches to nominate players for All Star games/matches. Notre Dame is not a TACA member which explains the absence of ND players.

The TACA Volleyball All Star Match will be Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Centennial High School.

THe A-AA match is at 5 PM, AAA at 7 PM
