It was a great tournament, start to finish. Kudos to the Winfield staff for a very well run show, and great hospitality. You know it's intense when the boys' championship game has 3 techs in it, 2 on players. Fun times.

Jake's arm is broken is the word we got, Answer. Tough to have one of your deadly spot-up shooters go down in the first quarter.

I wasn't try to stir anything, I just had numerous coaches & spectators who claimed to be at the game who was dogging Oneida's sportsmanship. I wasn't there, so I did not know. This was just something I was curious about because so many people had said this.
I was pretty sure this wasn't true though, Oneida is class act.
People love to hate Oneida. We have it on film, they shook hands with Huntsville. The Oneia kids were very disappointed, and I'm sure they weren't in the mood, but they went through the line. I didn't see anything wrong there.
-
I realized I should have checked the Huntsville website right after I posted this, and did get your updates for the boys. Thanks for the girls winners! We're still working on our plan for coverage, if we're going or not... with everything happening Saturday, I'm not sure we're gonna make it.
-
I'm not quite sure which horse your trying to beat or what you want to get stirred up, but....Oneida did SHAKE hands with Huntsville after their loss in the Area II C'Ship game!!
Yeah, and that was the only game they lost this season. Not sure what you're talking about.
-
Who won the oft delayed substates last night? Curious to know, as Huntsville is playing one of the winners tonight.
-
Huntsville 46
CACC 32
Huntsville hits 8 3's in the game. Seth Sharp goes for 14 in the first half, *0* in the second. CACC I think with their defensive strategy decided if they were gonna lose, they'd lose to 3s, they packed their zone in tight. Saturday games (if no snow):
Fairview girls vs Jellico 4:30
CACC boys vs Robbins 5:45
Coalfield girls vs P-J 7:00
Oneida boys vs Huntsville (round 3) 8:15

Thanks for the replies. We'll see how it all shakes out, we'll have all the games from here out live on 105.5 in Oneida, and by tape delay on Comcast channel 4 in Scott Co. Come out and say hi, tho.
Still need those rosters.
-
Thanks paint. Top 3 move on to Caton's Chapel, right? Getting my stuff together, look like I'll need 3 rosters, P-J, Coalfield girls, and CACC boys. Can anybody help there?
-
Kaz, can you give me a rundown of the bottom half of both brackets? We have the top half, but we don't know the Tuesday winners. We're planning on broadcasting from there Thursday and Saturday radio and TV, and we'd like to know who we're gonna have.
-
How about the Coalfield/Wartburg girls game? Anybody know who moved on?
EDIT - Scratch that, Coalfield won.

A CAK asst. coach turned in their record as 6-2 because they counted the Powell game as a forfeit. That game, however, was considered a no contest because Powell was not sanctioned. This wasn't done intentionally by CAK because their AD told me on the phone today that they were just 5-2.
Once all that was straightened out, Midway and CAK had the same number of wins and Coalfield was one behind. Therefore, Midway's head-to-head win over CAK gave them second place then CAK's head-to-head win over Coalfield gave them third.
It took a lot of phone calls, but TMSAA got everything right in the end and that's the important thing.
I do feel sorry for Coalfield though. It had to be hard for someone to tell those boys this afternoon that they weren't going to the playoffs.
I agree, it's heartbreaking for the Coalfield kids. They played their hearts out against Robbins to try to get in, and they thought they did even though losing, now this. I wouldn't wanna be the guy to tell them.
But anyways, goose or brian, do you guys have a CAK MS roster I can have? I'll be covering the Fairview CAK game on Thursday, and would like to get actually ahead of the game for once.
-
Dunno about that, to be honest. Just know the result. If you cancel a game, it's not automatically a forfeit win. Thought that would be common sense, but I don't know the circumstances. But I'm looking forward to seeing CAK here on Thursday at Scott High School.
-
Well, as it turns out, justice is going to be done. Those cancelled games were NOT, I repeat, NOT counted as wins for the other teams, and Midway is now the #2 seed in their region, with CAK #3, and Coalfield out. This came down just this morning, as confirmed by 2 principals of playoff teams in Scott County here. So Midway hosts Huntsville, CAK travels to Fairview.
-
Look and study (very carefully may I add) the TSSAA play-off guidelines listed on the TSSAA.org website. After studying ALL of those crazy tie-breakers, play-off seedings are awarded:
I can't explain it very well, but....CAK and Midway both tied with 5 wins since CAK, Midway, and Coalfield all went 4-2 in conference play splitting with each other. Since CAK & Midway each had 5 wins, they went by losses. Since CAK had 2 losses and Midway had 3 losses, CAK is second. Next, Midway and Coalfield were tied. This tie-breaker included head-to-head which Coalfield won. Thus, .....
1. Harriman
2. CAK
3. Coalfield
outside looking in: Midway
Alright, BIGBIGBIG change in th playoff picture as of this morning.
Due to a game being turned in as a forfeit win by one of the south region teamsin A, I think Coalfield, and the TMSAA not recognizing forfeit wins in any way, Midway is now the #2 seed, CAK the 3 seed, and Coalfield is OUT. Thus Fairview will be hosting CAK, and Huntsville travelling to Midway, both on Thursday night, as of right now. Just had it confirmed by both principals at Fairview and Huntsville.
Boy, does that change things.

Can you send me a Robbins roster too? I will be covering the Robbins at Coalfield game Thursday night. Thanks.
i think I've got a Robbins roster somewhere in my paperwork, they're on the way
-
Yup, or I can do you one better and fax you their roster.
#44 - Spencer Chambers
#18 - Jordan Boshears
#7 - Jacob Lowe

I have seen both White County and Warren County and I think White Co. will win big again. Not sure why White County kicks onside kicks every time, but it could be close if they give Warren County the ball at midfield every time. Both offenses are pretty good and pretty similar, but White County's defense is head over heels better than Warren County's. I would say White County 30-14.
Hey, can you give me a playoff list from your region down there? We're still battling it out up here, but it looks like Fairview wrapped up 2nd last night, with Oneida going #1. Huntsville or Robbins will be #3. Just trying to plan our radio and TV broadcast schedule for the next couple weeks! Playoffs are here!
-
Wish I had gotten a chance to see CAK this year, maybe next year.. Mitch, good luck wherever you go, you've been a class act here, and your play is inspired. I've enjoyed talking with you!
