  1. You're right, i'm too "stupid" to admit that shelbyville lost the game SOLEY because of the umpires call. what was i thinking? .....I am not a shelbyville fan and i'm definately not a coffee fan, so i have no favorite team in my opinions. I just found this thread humorous when it was saying that this team lost because of the umpire, but go ahead believe what u want, but last time i checked there were 7 innings in a game. whats ridiculous is to say that the entire 7 innings were lost because of one bad call.( yes yes i know, "The girl was on third, it would've been the third out....blah blah blah") I understand that it may have been a game changing moment, BUT there is absolutely NO difference in saying that the call cost shelbyville the game vs. saying base running cost them the game. there are questionable calls in every game, thats just the way it is, the umps are not perfect and definately not responsible for a teams win or loss( no matter what the situation is). Blaming an ump is just like blaming a specific girl on a team for the loss, its just not right, nobody's perfect) and if u havent realized that by now then apparently you're the arrogant one. shelbyville is a decent team and its sad to see that this one call can get to them sooo bad. my comments may be wrong or whatever but i'm not in denial, it is my opinion, and you're not going to change it." nor am i trying to change yours, i just voiced my opinion...end of story and now i'm done wasting my time.

  2. How many times am I going to have to explain this? The missed call would have been the THIRD OUT of the inning. Shelbyville got the final out but had it taken away from them. The ump blew it! Period.

I have been around softball for 41 years and I know what I'm talking about. I have won 8 TN State Championships coaching girls from 8 - 16 years old. I have seen everything that can happen in a softball game. Umpires miss calls all the time. I have won games because of a bad call in my favor. I have lost games because of a bad call against me. It happens but that doesn't make it excusable.

Anyone who says a bad call can't cost you the game is in denial.

You want to know what happened in the last three innings? Shelbyville outscored Coffee County 1-0. Take the 2 gift runs away and Shelbyville wins 2-1. Hummmm.

the two GIFT runs??? as if when the "bad" call was made, the two coffee county girls got to walk across home plate undeserved. please! haha. a good team would have accepted it and come back to play even harder deffense. IF this and IF that..cry cry cry :D

  3. It's always the umpires fault isn't it?

Its never the missed ground balls, or the baserunning errors is it?

Amen to that! Maybe if Shelbyville didn't dwell on a call that happened in the fourth inning, they could have stepped up and done something. Furthermore, you don't see everyone else in the district complaining about bad calls. I'm sure that this call was not the only bad one made all year, but yet you dont see other teams with posts constantly complaining about calls. Shelbyville is just showing how weak they are by constantly saying that "it was the call that cost them the game." that is such a whiny statement. I dont know how many hits coffee had , but i'm thinking with 11 hits shelbyville had more. Even with the bad call, with that many hits shelbyville should have been able to pull away with a win easily, guess it just goes to show how good coffee's defense is, (or how bad SHelbyville's baserunning is). Bottom line is there have been many bad calls in softball, but the better team will step up and win (bad calls or not) and obviously by the score, that team was coffee and NOT shelbyville, enough said.

One more thing, Coffee is prolly not as strong as they have been in past years but win or lose i think that they are an overall better team than shelbyville, and more than likely it will be proven in the district tournament. IF shelbyville could beat someone like ugh.....lincoln county (who IS the best team in the district, HANDS DOWN) then i might reconsider that statement.

  4. ok here goes my prediction which never proves to be right but ill take a run at it.    1.Columbia 2.coffee county 3.tullahoma 4.lincoln county 5shelbyville 6franklin county 7lawrenceburg,but if lincoln county can find some bats and put some runs on the board this year i believe they will win the district but not going out on limb to pick them untill i see some bats come through. in my opinion they have the number 1 pitcher and the best overall defense returning and also they only lost 1 starter last year not 2.But one thing is for sure in district 8 softball,IT WILL NOT BE BORING!

LINCOLN COUNTY all they way, we got the best pitching, defense (especially 3rd base...go whitney, and congratulations on signing), all ya need is to bring out the bats and its in the bag. Lincoln "only lost *ONE* starter last year, not two" (isn't that right Ricky??...hmm, i believe thats correct, not that it mattered either way though, right?) So ya should definitely have the strongest team in 8aaa. Don't dissappoint me ladies! I love you guys.

  5. The tullahoma shortstop defenately DESERVES district mvp. and although the coffee county coach is a good coach and everything, i don't think he should get coach of the year( it should be lincoln's coach or tullahoma's) and pitcher of the year should defenately be owens from lincoln (5-4 in district) and as far as the players who I THINK will make all district , the only ones i can think of off the top of my head are ( the shortstop from tullahoma, newman, 1st base for lawerenceburg, and horton, lopeman, and owens from lincoln

  6. i think that oakland doesn't have a prayers chance in beating the falcons. they have already fallen 51-0 and the falcons just keep getting bigger and badder every game, and here lately when anyone even scores seven on the falcons, their defense just starts dominating them and defenately makes sure it doesn't happen again.

  7. falcon4 is right, riverdale should've been 28 against lc, actually they probably should've been less because if i remember correctly that wasn't the only bad call the ref's made that night. and that ref should just quit or somehthing becaue in the picture in the tennessean it has arrington over the goal line and the ref in the background staring directly at him.

  8. Bleedblue, Lincoln County's offense is pretty good, but how bout the defense? In just two games you gave up 54 points (Franklin 33 and Riverdale 21). If more of your games turn into track meets, are you sure you can outrun/outscore everyone else. Should be interesting games to watch. Good luck.

yeah lincoln county's offense is very good...AND so is there defense yeah they gave up 54 points to riverdale and franklin but you failed to mention that we shut out blackman 51 to nothing and the riverdale game should'nt have been 21...i'm sure most people have seen the pictures of the riverdale guy fumbling before he ever got to the endzone. (i think the pics were on the tennessean..i know it was in the elk valley times) and i think that we will shut out franklin co.
