I'm not sure about all this slim shady business, but I'm from Lipscomb and choose to keep my seat while I post this.
As a former Mustang, I would like to extend my congratulations to the coaching staff and players on their accomplishments so far. The great memories of this last week together, win or lose, will be cherished for a long time. Speaking of win or lose, as a player on the '02 and '03 State Championship and Runner-Up teams, respectively, I experienced both sides of the spectrum. Regardless of what happens on Saturday, be proud of what you have done and your contributions to the program because you have carried on the Mustang Tradition with great class. When we played as Seniors, we knew every week to look in the endzone for Matt and his cowboy hat, Ben and Connor being Ben and Connor, and even had Dale on the sideline with us. Now, its our turn to travel to the Boro and watch you guys shine on the big stage of high school football. Don't waste a snap and go get the ring that you have worked for.
A side note, the Mustang Radio Crew deserves a thank you for their hardwork over the last few years. While they might criticize play calling occasionally, we appreciate them being "the homer, biased" crew that loves Mustang football.

Well now you're off topic....but since you started it I heard that a bunch of DL players got on here a few years ago and started braggin about hanging 55 on Alcoa and well, you know what happened the next week.....Anyway since then players are banned and they know if they do people are watching
I believe you "heard" wrong. Feel free to show me the old threads, but all 55 of those points were not mentioned until the following year by former Lipscomb players.
Also: NEWSFLASH - Coach T Message Boards do NOT play a role in a game, as much as everyone on here wants them to, its time to get over it. As a former player, the last thing on my mind when I was on the field is what message boards had said the previous 5 days. However, for those of you who think this has an impact don't let me crush your dreams, carry on.

I know that Greenbrier won 1-0 in 8 innings. Nicole Head and Kristen Grogan combined for the shutout, but that is all the info that i have.

Greenbrier defeated Station Camp today 1-0 in 8 innings to advance to the finals. Nicole Head and Kristen Grogan combined for the shutout for the LadyCats.

Might I ask you Wilson Central Dogg, What did Lipscomb ever do to you or your school? To my knowledge, WCHS and DLHS have never competed in any sport , yet you seem to be bitter towards the entire school and basketball program. If it is still the Beech game, then get over it. Beech fans arent whining about their win so why are you whining for them? Lipscomb was winning basketball games long before Wilson Central ever came into existence, and I hate to tell you that it isnt about to stop. Lipscomb has a tradition of great basketball coaches and players that know and execute the true fundamentals of the game.
Anyways to the game, I wasnt there but heard that it was worse than the MLK loss if that is possible. However, the Pickens and the Stangs will be ready when district tournament time comes. Last year, the district was as balanced as I've seen in a long time. This year is no different with the exception of MLK. DL, GB, Hume Fogg, Springfield...etc will continue to battle the remainder of the season and in the district tournament. The final 3 spots in the region tourney will be up for grabs, its just a matter of who comes to play at tourney time.
-
GoBama, I dont think you can find a comment on here from an LU student who did anything to bash the MLK team this year. Yes, comments have been made about the MLK fans at last year's game.
I do not like being considered "stuck-up" , and no post on here is intended to sound that way.
MLK dominated from start to finish. Easily the better team of the two on Tuesday night and possibly any night. MLK has a great program and a great coach, and I respect every bit of that.
Good luck to the Stangs for the rest of the year!

I guess the Bomb Squad faithful left with Brent McPherson. But anywho, you might have stormed into MLK last year and got a win, however, I feel like we left with the confidence in knowing that we were still number one (as I stated when i led the cheer that made yall crawl back into your little section of the gym). But I mean what are you gonna do with a sea of MLK fans rushing at you like wild cattle. LOL.
Anyways, I'm not a fan of living in the past unless I seek redemption. Well, I can check that one off of my list, because STOMPING DL at their place was sweet revenge for a c/o 2005 senior.
Yankees, could you please tell me what this is? Appears to me like "Big Ben" is running his mouth. He is elated that MLK students showed no class last year after they were beaten. I simply responded to the fact that their lack of sportsmanship was a disgrace to the school and the District, yet he seems proud of it.
The Roethlisberger comment was meant to be a joke and extremely sarcastic, but I guess you missed that one so I apologize if I offended "Big Ben".
Yes, I will continue to post on CoachT while at college, and I dont feel the need to justify myself to you.
-
BIG BEN
Can you please do us and yourself a huge favor? Unless your last name is Roethlisberger, please do not refer to yourself as "BIG BEN".
-
Big Ben, you tell me. What was the Bombsquad supposed to do when a bunch of classless, sore losers stormed at our student section last year? I mean, we almost did have the MLK nation out numbered on their homecoming, but fighting over a regular season, high school, district basketball game...you have got to be kidding me.
"Anywho", you were correct the legends of the Bombsquad did graduate last year.

Way to go Falcons. What a great win. Mr. Football ended up with (I believe) 4 total yards. So it didn't really matter if we had a nominated player or not, huh? We had Jam, Tip, Bish, Ish, & Cobb. I'll take a total team effort over one player any day.
Greenbrier played a good half. We played a good game.
BACK 2 BACK STATE CHAMPIONS...We'll look forward to 2005.
Before you "believe" something know about it. 149 all purpose yards (76 rushing, 3 receiving, and 70 returning). Also , he had 7 tackles and a fumble return for 27 yards. I agree that I would take a team effort too. But , dont talk bad about a great, and yes i said great , player.
-
Have you played against Roger Herndon? Didnt think so. Dont run your mouth if you have never stepped on the field with them. He is great, and there is no way you can prove other wise. Fulton won the game, we realize that. But Herndon is the real deal. I dont understand why you have to belittle another player because you are a fan of the team who beat his team today. Give the kid credit. He will play college football and excel in my opinion. Have a nice night , and let me know when you come up with a way to take away Roger's 2,000 yards , then you might have an argument.
-
I have played against some great backs including Dustin Lindsey, Marcus Buggs, etc... and he definitely falls into the category with some of these guys. Give him credit 2,000 yards, come on. He had a couple runs where he made Fulton players look sick today so I dont really see what you are saying. He didnt have many holes to work with today. Great player and a class act. No doubt about it.
-
Good player eh? Lets try 2,000 yards on about 350 carries. If thats not spectacular then please tell me what . Anyways, congratulations to both teams on great seasons. Greenbrier, you have nothing to hang your heads about. You had a great run over the last 2 years. Good luck to Roger on your future in football. Hope to see you in the Black and Gold.
-
I would take Huntingdon in that one by 3 touchdowns. HHS defense last year was imposing as all of the front 7 were big and quick. Having played against HHS and Alcoa in 03, I would definitely give the advantage to the Mustangs. Alcoa just thought Weathers was good(which he is), but Bell was just as good or better.
-
That's just wonderful. You know how much all of that means? Absolutely nothing. I really doubt that Greenbrier cares how many rushing first downs...etc. that Fulton had this year. The game will come down to who comes out and executes their game plan most effectively and plays with the most heart and determination.
Enough Said.

How about that football game?....Never thought I, a DL supporter, would have to try and get people back on topic. Its not exactly our strong point at Lipscomb.
Anyway, lets see some football and a little less worrying with who others are. Can anyone answer my previous post who has seen both teams play in person or on film?
-
I have not had a chance to see anything on what truly are the strengths of the Fulton team. Run or pass oriented? To someone who has seen both, can you break down the advantages each team has( Oline, Dline, Backs....etc)? I expect a great game and a Greenbrier win if they are able to pound it and control the clock.
New Prediction: 20-14 CATS

Bomb, I wonder how old you are? You know I don't want really want to bring religion into this, but being from David Lipscomb, I am curious about the depth of yours since you continuously want to agitate.
Seriously, this kid cant be over 13 years old. He is like a 7th grade student pestering a substitute teacher(da dum CHHHHHH!!!!)
Anyways, good luck to the Cats!

If tim's posts were researched, I would guarantee that 95% of them are 10 words or less. Your countess, worthless posts are becoming nothing but a nuisance to the Coacht community. Put some thought and effort behind your words. Take a little pride in it. I applaud you for trying, but its now time to step it up a notch.
Anyways, to the Bobcats, these opportunities do not come around often. Cherish each practice and hour spent with each other on the field this week. Make every snap count from practice to the final horn on Saturday. You guys have a lot of people behind you and have worked hard for this moment. Dont let it slip by.
Good luck!
Holding strong to my 14-13 prediction in favor of the CATS.

Anyways, to the game. Greenbrier has kind of taken on that role as a "Team of Destiny". Continual improvement has been seen from the Bobcats over the past 3 years or so. Back to Back region champs, a trip to the semifinals, and now the coveted trip to the Boro. This group of seniors really deserves to win this game. Playing against them and now watching them this year, it is amazing to see how they have improved. I said it a few weeks ago, and I still believe it....there is no way Herndon and Co. will let this opportunity slip away. Bobcats will win in a close one ...14-13. Good luck!
-
Anybody seen where Lipscomb is at this week? Oh, they are still trying to realize that they got ran over Friday. I was hoping someone from Lipscomb would show their face on here. Do any Lipscomb people still want to question who knows football and who doesn't? Good luck next year!! Get off the thread unless you have something useful to say.
Let's see here Justin. I am not sure which of us knows football, but I know which of the two of us has a ring.

last year we all saw huntingdon put on one of the best masterpieces against a "supposedly good" david lipscomb team. i seriously think that the perfect game huntingdon had would have troubled any team, regardless of classification.
It was either a masterpiece or you were playing bad team? Please pick one.
Personally, I would like to think Huntingdon played a great game, yes pretty much perfect, so I would not call that Lipscomb team bad. Give credit to your team for playing well and beating the defending state champs who had won 20 straight games at the time.
Fulton vs. David Lipscomb
in Class 1A & Class 2A

No, I don't think it did gridironguy. I don't believe Knox Catholic will be receiving a silver ball for their "state championship" loss. All we know about them is they were one of the best 8 teams in 3A football.
Fulton vs. DLHS ... we'll see ya in the Boro... or maybe your still whining in Knoxville.
