  1. Cloudland seems to be coming apart at the seams. I do not want to stir trouble, but I do have a question for someone close to the program. I have heard that Cloudland's coach may be in trouble due to several things including his control of the team. One person told me the school board may get involved. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I hope if it is true, it is resolved quickly for the girls sake!

  2. CAK didn't bring many fans, but they were louder than ours.

I agree with Flossie on only 1 sentence in his post and it is quoted above. Our fans were not very loud at all to be a Cloudland game. It was sad to see the section of CAK fans out cheer the Lander's home crowd. It was as if everyone thought the game would be a blowout and that they would have one or two more blowout games before some close action. That thought of mind was wrong and look where we are now. I don't agree with Flossie blaming the other county schoold for the Highlanders early exit.

  3. if you don't like the landers then don't post...simple as that.....

    Meow,

I know you are a Cloudland fan but you may want to realize that a lot of people dont like Cloudland but they are entiled to a opinon and post it. The post you were talking about was uncalled for but your reply could have been alittle more speific.

We were beat by a good CAK team. They outplayed us in the fourth quarter and are playing this week. Let's look and celebrate our accomplishments not our one loss. The teams that are celebrating our defeat are either jealous of our accomplishments or glad they didnt have to make the trip to Roan Mountain. Once again, Congrats CAK and Cloudland on an excellent game and season for the Landers.

  4. Avery County, NC which is only a matter of 5-10 minutes from Roan Mountain is the Christmas Tree Capital of the World. They are several places around Roan Mountain and I agree, some of the best trees are on Buck Mountain which is where Landerblue refered to. There are at least 3 places on the NC side of Buck Mtn.

  5. For a team that hasn't really played but one or two decent teams all season, Cloudland fans sure seem confident. At least Greenback and CAK have played some good non-district games. The best thing that happened to Greenback was losing to Onieda, otherwise, they might have been as cocky and overconfident as Cloudland.

Cloudland fans have a reason to be confident. This is one of the best teams ever at Cloudland. What makes this team so different is that the offense can pass and run and the defense is really good in our games so far. Boyd and Ezell beat us by passing the ball and we couldn't stop it. Cloudland's secondary is faster and the line is stronger then last year. As for our scheduling goes, we thought it would have been tougher. No one expected all of the schools to be down and it may hurt us in the long run, but the regular season is in the books and the 'Landers need to concentrate on CAK. Good Luck Highlanders

  6. Does anyone know if Cloudland has scrimmaged anyone? If so, how did it go and who impressed? If not, who has impressed in practice and what are going to be some of the weaknesses? Will they be ready for the game against Hampton? Also how will the depth look?

  7. Mark Byrd from Cloudland

Meow's post may be a few years early. Cloudland's Byrd has the potential to be one of the best but not the best in state history. I think Todd Helton, Steve Spurrier, and Pennington are the best in Tennessee with Matthews and Kelly close behind.
