Danielle did not get to compete at the state meet last year. She was qualified in the long jump, 100 hurdles, 100 & 200. As she was also competing in the state pentathlon, she sprained her ankle and could not compete in Memphis. She was at the meet , on crutches, to cheer on her friends. Thank you for the well wishes and hopefully this year things will be better.

They lost to William Blount 52-51 in overtime.

What's worse is that the Farragut Middle school age kids beat the Oak Ridge program most years during football season but when they get to the HS level things change. I know they lose some to other sports. It's got to be the coaching.

owlsgk30 you are just mad because your team lost to William Blount. As for the Maryville game this will be William Blounts toughest game so far. If they play like we know they can, it may be alot closer than most people think.

A good 100 time for a girl is 12.0-12.8. There are some that will not make it under 13 but that is still a pretty good time.

Megan Lyons finished 5th.

Danielle finished 4th and she was the only freshman in AAA.

Where can I find all of the results?

AAA is on May 18.

The field events that Danielle did today for the Blount County Championship were the long jump, triple jump and the high jump. She won all 3. As for running events on Tuesday, I am not sure what all she will do.

What about Brad Walker (William Blount) in the 100 and the 200 AAA?

Danielle and Judy are both really good runners. And yes Danielle has a hard time with the block but she is getting better. The 200 is Danielle's race. Her PR is 24.74 at the Vol Classic. I really believe that they both may make it to state in the 100 and the 200. I wish them both the best of luck. Danielle has said that running with Judy will make her run better. I wish that Judy would do AAU track with the Knoxville Track Club.

Brooke Wilson from William Blount runs 5:52 1600 and 2:33 800. Rachal Craig also runs 2:33 800.

Meghan Lyons did finish in front of Danielle by 217 points. She is a great athlete. She also is a junior and Danielle is a freshman. For Danielle to make it to state as a freshman means that she has alot of tallent too. They were pretty close in everything they did except the high jump. Danielle only cleared 4'8" which in not close to her best. Meghan seems to be a very nice young lady too. I wish her luck at state along with Danielle.

Ok, how can you say that KTC is not a fast team? Did you run the 400 with Bryan Webb or Nathan Grace or Josh Hich or Shannon Glasper? What about Stephanie Woodfin or Jenae Anderson? The youth girls 4x100 ran a faster time then the Alcoa 4x100 state winners and they were 3 8th graders and a 7th grader(47.43). The youth girls 4x400 finished 3rd(4:00) and Danielle won the 100 and the 200 and Stephanie finished first in the 100 in her age group. Bryan Webb third in the 400(48.42) the youth boys 4x800 finished second. These are all from the Junior Olympics. When it was over, KTC had 7 national champions, 28 medalists and 40 medal performance(top 8). So, yes they really do have a pretty fast team.

Well yes I do believe that my Danielle has what it takes. First, she has been running in school for 4 years and is getting ready for her third year of AAU. She really works her butt off during the summer for two reasons: she loves it and she wants to go on to college to run. LSU is her first choice. She already is popular and has a boyfriend that is very supportive of what she does. If you think that being popular and liking boys is a reason to not do track then you are talking to girls who didn't really care about track to begin with. As for how Marion Jones looks, Danielle has a poster of her up on her wall(with all of her awards). She knows how she looks and understands that to be a great runner you have to have big muscles. She already has runners thighs and it is not a problem for her. She doesn't do this or look a certain way for other people. Danielle does what is best for Danielle. If you haven't seen her run, then maybe you should. William Blount has a meet Thursday at 4:00. Next week Monday is at Maryville (field events) and Tuesday at William Blount. This is the Blount County Championship. Both start at 4:30. Maybe then you will see what we see, maybe not.

Rachel Craig finished 12 not 15. Brandie Skipworth 26 and Lindsey Baugh 27.

You really don't know Danielle because she has lots of muscle. She is solid muscle. Track is vey important to her and she does want to do this after high school. She is willing to work at it and jumping is not what she is best at. She is a sprinter with the skills to jump. She is good at it and she loves it. You really can't lump all girls into the same group because there are always a few who will stand out and Danielle is one, Jenae Anderson is another. Oh, and looking pretty is just a bonus.

Danielle will go to state! She finished 2nd and Rachael finished 15 I think. They both did really well. Rachael ran the 800 really well-2:33!

She has done that at William Blount, Farragut, Anderson County and one other school that I can't think of right now. Does that make a differnce in how you jump?
