1. I have coached at the showcase and I believe that it is one of the best things going. It is more for rising juniors and seniors. I realize that the selection process is not the best but please remember that this is for the players. The coaches get nothing from this. We have a hard time getting coaches to participate in the process. I still say that it is the best thing that we have going in Tennessee high school baseball.

HERE'S THE GUEST LIST: VOL24, BAD-EYE, RICK WALLS, "HE COULD ALWAYS HIT", PURYEAR, BOWERS, CCRIDERS, YOUR FORMER HIT-RUN COACH, E5, REDSMAN, LOUIE, JD, SHANKS, DEREK FISH, AND BLUE-GILL. ANY OTHERS?

    UNDERSTOOD SLUGGO. MY APOLOGIES.

Count me in Dr. Freeze. We could have it in the Arch. I hear they have a great ride to the top.

QUOTE(flngrvy @ May 7 2007 - 12:39 PM) 826453588Gville-Hendersonville, county school, Gallatin, county school, Station Camp, county school, Beech, county school, Portland, county school. There are no "city schools" or special school districts in Sumner County. There are schools located in the city limits but no "city schools." As for being a stepchild, good leadership from your county commissioners and school administartors would solve that problem.

I agree with Mr. Limbaugh that Beech is a unique place to play. The atmosphere at the field during big games is great. Each field has things that could be better, but the parents and coaches at Beech have worked hard in the past to have good facilities.

  4. QUOTE(REDSMAN @ May 7 2007 - 09:12 AM) 826453414IVE GOT ABOUT $3,216.00 FOR YOU. I GOT THE REST FROM AN ICE CREAM DUNKING CONTEST AND A BISCUIT-OFF-THE FLOOR EATING CONTEST. IT HAS TAKEN A FEW YEARS TO GET OVER MY BRAIN-FREEZE REHAB AT THE SHACKLE ISLAND THERAPEUTIC-VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL-OCCUPATIONAL-AUTO DIESEL CLINIC. YOU PROBABLY KNOW DR. DECKER DOWN THERE.

Excellent physician. Tell Philip I said hello.

  5. QUOTE(REDSMAN @ May 7 2007 - 06:54 AM) 826453286THE BEECH FACILITY HAS ALOT OF CHARACTER. IT IS A NEAT PLACE TO PLAY. THE PLAYING FIELD IS NOT AS NICE THIS YEAR, BUT IN THE PREVIOUS YEARS THE FIELD WAS AN ABSOLUTE PEARL. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THIS: WHEN I SPENT A YEAR THERE AS AN ASSISTANT, I RAN UP A LARGE BILL IN THE CONCESSION STAND... I TOOK A SECOND MORTGAGE AND HAD A COKE FUNDRAISER TO HELP OFFSET THE COST...

I paid that bill for you. You owe me!

  6. QUOTE(flngrvy @ May 7 2007 - 05:05 AM) 826453235Don't call me whiney, but, why in the world after 25 years in existance in one of the wealthiest counties, (3rd I believe), in Tennessee, are the Beech baseball facilities simply put, horrible? There should be some restrictions on who should host tournament games and any school that has a field that looks like two drunk bubba's got on a dozier one night and decided to make a "field" "over yonder Bubba", shouldn't be hosting. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> It's crap and any defense is wrong on any level.

What is so bad about the facility at Beech?

  7. Congrats to Coach Massey and the Bison. Good luck to White House. Who cares who is the better team? Let's root for our Sumner County teams to do well. Ben and Sumner County sounds like you guys can't accept the fact that the Bison played well last night as did White House. Don't lose sight of what high school athletics is all about.
