  1. Look for Northeast to be the cream of the crop in Montgomery County this fall. Clarksville will be decent, Kenwood and West Creek will have tons of speed and athleticism. Rossview should be better than last year and Northwest will struggle to find the win column. I am not sure about Montgomery Central or The Academy and their outlook for the upcoming season.

  2. Cubs1, I am not one of the 4 candidates. I will be spending my time this fall officiating instead of coaching. I have not coached in 2 years and decided that time with my family was more important. Officiating takes less time requirements than coaching does.

  3. I know that at least four people interviewed this week for the vacancy. Curious to see when SC will name the new coach, especially since teams could begin preparations in helmets this past week. Week 0 will be here before we know it!

  4. Houston County has to beat East Robertson next Friday to have a shot at the 2A playoffs. It would be the first trip to the playoffs since 2003. It is good to see these young men having some success after everything that they have gone through the last 3 years.

  5. lockdowncorner, I am sorry you feel that way! Your eagles struggled with the commandos, a team the BUCCANEERS beat 29-7 during the regular season. I like the Bucs to win this 24-7. The Bucs will be at home for the 2nd round and I think they take care of business.

  6. musiccitymiracle, how do you figure that every school in Montgomery County is short on coaches? The county allows each high school to have 6 paid coaches on each football staff, the HC and 5 paid assistants. The last time I checked, there were only a couple of schools still trying to fill the football staffs for next year. Any word on how the NW staff is coming along with the coaching search?

  7. 1new_wildcat_fan, you are correct. As I have posted on another thread, my next move is into administration and I am really content working with the administration, coaches, players, parents, and fans of the Hawks football program right now. I will continue coaching at RHS until the right AP job opens up for me.

  8. 1new_wildcat_fan, things are good at the view. We are looking to start spring drills at the end of april, or first of may. The start date is to be determined by our spring scrimmage. And yes, theydon'tcare is exactly right about how the University of Alabama decided on the elephant as the mascot. When do you guys hold your spring drills?
