Westmoreland gave the offensive line a fit as did York, Macon and Upperman. The other teams defensive line should just line up in our backfield since thats where they are most of the night. Great job by Gregory on the kick-off and great 60 yd TD run by Robinson. 8 games into the season and the O-line is still not picking up the stunts, its time to pick it up. So somebody that is, in the know, tell me if it's correct that Fulton had 6 plays last Friday in the first half.

I'm pretty sure that stat is wrong, I think they punted 3 or 4 times. It's probably more likely they had only six yards rushing to SC's 40 in the first half. The total yards in the first half were SC 168 and Fulton 116 and they both had over 100 yds passing.

I'll have to agree with oldsc7 about one thing, if SC had Fulton's WR E.Dish (don't know his name) they would be playing in the Boro this week, even with all their turnovers. thumb

Advice would be:  Get to the QB... If you can rattle their QB you may have a chance.  The only problem is, their line has been playing like PRO's for the last couple of weeks.  So good luck.  Also, tell your corners to bat the ball down instead of trying to intercept it.  That's one of the things that killed us, we wanted to intercept the ball instead of batting it down.

Don't worry about the QB....double down on their WR's and take away the passing game and don't kick to their speed. Make 'em run the ball, that is their weakness. Cobb has a hamstring injury so he shouldn't be a factor.

On offense give the ball to Hearndon and let him run. Don't try to get into a scoring game because you will lose. SC found that out last week. Fulton has quick DB's with great hands but they like to cheat up. You can burn them deep, by deep I mean 40 to 50 yard passes, nothing underneath.

Should be a great game. Haven't seen GB play but have seen Fulton. Early in the week, but I'll pick Fulton in a close one, but pulling for GB sine they are from middle TN.

i play for the team and am a starter. we don't have a lot of talent spread out. a few of us have some. for the most part our o-line in weak and slow. our qb can throw but can't run. our kicker. my o my he would be better off kickin backwards. our line backers meet people in the hole never afraid. our dline ins't good but try hard and refuse for ur line to touch the linebackers. our db's laugh when the ball is thrown. no one really throws against us and when they do it usually gets picked. our safety is small but and i mean small. but that doesn't matter. if for some reason u break the lb's he will meet u. o yea and ur spd....people have broke it on us this yr. but watch out for #17 and #2 to catch u and bring u down. color means nothing. say what u want were all humans. bring it on we will play u untill that last seond of us playin with each other ends.

SC's offense is pretty much smash mouth grind it out 3 yards and a cloud of dust. In last weeks game against Livingston SC controlled the ball for 11 1/2 minutes of the 4th qtr.

The defense will change about every snap of the ball and go after the QB. The defense is small and a bit slow but will hit you with everything they have which creates opportunities for the offense. Most defenses slow down in the 4th but not this defense. They will hit harder in the 4th qtr than they will in the 1st qtr. They give up a lot of yards from the 20 to the 20 but once inside the 20 they play lights out.

SC is well coached and will not make many mistakes. You won't see any trash talking or unsportsmanlike conduct from their players (the fans are a different story - they love their Owls). What you will see is a lot of hard hitting and a great fireworks show.

SC dominated the 2nd half AGAIN against the Kitties. 

I knew we had it in the bag when Muffie gave the Kitties the kiss of death.  Billy Plummer made two huge plays again.  Wilson Cates made a great play to pick up a fumble by Vaughn and scored from about the 9.  He's a player.  LA couldn't stop our Willie in the 4th quarter. 

It was good the the the Rocking Chair again.  It's been a lot of years.

No doubt about it Twan. The Mighty Owls DEFENSE proved their point tonight. LA's only score was a fluke. This group of seniors give everything they have and leave it all on the field.

I don't think there is any debate as to who is the best running back in the region. Don't know how many yards Wilmore had but when the game is one the line, he is the best.

If the rain holds off...I would be there by 6 or so to get a good seat.

Twan, time to start the Owls and Cats thread. This one could be bigger than last year's thread vs Macon. Cats fans like to post but I don't think they are as arrogant as the one year wonders!

No refs to blame this time. Owls took care of business for the third year is a row. But, as usual Portland fans showed what a classless bunch they are. Glad they are moving up next year. Maybe they can play with the 4A teams, because the 1A, 2A and 3A teams in this region kicked their butts.

Oh, in case nobody noticed, one of the refs showed up at the game with portland sweatshirt on. NOW BLAME IT ON THE REFS!!!!!!!!!!

Region 4-3A Champions!!!! Great job defense. The refs made some wierd calls but none when it counted. Portland 1st down inside the 10 and the Owls Defense make 4 tackles for losses. Thats the way you win ballgames. If don't think this defense can play, just ask the Portland coaches why they punted on 3rd down. Hey, anything can happen next week but for tonight we WILL CELEBRATE!!!

Aw..a matchup of the 4-3A dungeon dwellers...sorry Cannon you stink...Macon by 50+. They won't pull their starters because this is as close to a bowl game as they will get.

"Who will win this game".....is this topic a joke..the only question is will York's starters play after the first half......York by 30 (if DC scores against York's freshmen to get it that close)!

Jackson County Wins......NOT......Best thing for JC is to save their $5 and forfiet...We can all send them $5 in the mail and go watch P-Town and LA. Or better yet both teams can go to LA and play at halftime....Starters will be on the bench before the band finishes the first song.

The Owls will need to get out to a big lead to win this game. If its close and comes down to a field goal or extra point, the Owls could be in big trouble.
