  1. I wonder what the coach said to the Pioneers at the half? Talk about a game with a complete turnaround....Cumberland Co up 21-7 at the half; 40 seconds later the game is tied; and Warren County has the best half of football I've seen in a long time and wins 43-21. Lots of penalties on both teams. It seems Cumberland Co really got frustrated after the two quick WC scores to start the 2nd half. Ended up 12 penalties on each team.

Congrats #10 Mr Northcutt with 246 years and I think 4 TDs. Mr Robinson #76 had a great game also.

  2. great stats mr. limbaugh...

Region 4-5A is so tough...you win it and you are hard to stop...

think of how tough oakland's wins were this year against region 4-5A teams

**OHS beat riverdale 17-6...game much closer than score

    **beat wilson central 16-10

**beat smyrna 24-17 in 4 overtimes

    **lost to lebanon 14-17

    **beat siegel 21-10

**beat blackman 7-0...this probably should have been at least an overtime game

**beat smyrna again in playoffs 9-3

then go beat the Owls big time...this is not taking anything from Oakland...just shows how tough this region really is...and how folks around the state do not understand how tough it is to survive and win in this region...

We region 3 fans (Cookeville, Lincoln Co, Warren Co and the others) know how good region 4 is first hand. We cant get anybody past the second round against those fellers. We go away with a good felling inside when we give them a close game. They are one of the reasons our region sometimes looks so bad. Maybe with the new system we can play somebody besides them in the fist round!

  3. Hey I will congratulate the players and coaches but most WC fans are really annoying and think the team is a lot better than it is when they manage to beat a decent team and they think the are a lot worse than they are when they lose to someone they should.

Hold on now......I resemble that remark.

But seriously folks, Warren Co has been down so long that the last 4 years are a great turnaround. Even when Coffee Co was down WC found a way to loose. We used to enjoy fighting it out at the bottom with Coffee Co. That's when the Coffee co game got to be big for Warren Co.

I always liked the visitors side stadium at Coffee County.

  4. that's funny i thought most u.s. buisness were moving over seas to make things cheapier??? and if you dont like the way we run things down here then why don't you get a new job......or wait did you not get a high enuff education to work anywhere better then a kwiki Mart?

We actually like the yanks visiting down here every now and then....meeting them makes us proud of who we are and how much we are blessed to be from Dixie. Some of them are real nice people and....bless their hearts...... I hope they can export some of our good thinking on their place when they finally go back.

(Say what you want about them and then say ...."Bless their hearts")

  5. Admit it, you just didnt want to play Oakland /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> . I am looking forward to what I think will be 4 well played games next week

    Ha... yeah. That too.

  6. FC wins. 14-0 over CC

Congrats to the rebels! But I was wanting Cumberland Co to win so Warren Co could host a playoff game. Good luck to all the region 3 bunch in round 1.....we're all gonna need it.

Franklin Co might win more if they would play Dixie more...and show your colors.

  7. Been saving this one until I had time to reply. What a laughable post. Enjoyed it immensely. Where did you play football in the north? Probably nowhere worth mentioning, as obviously you and the bufoon who wrote this could combine your knowledge of football in the north and not fill a thimble. Just exemplifies people's prejudices, ignorance when it comes to the north vs the south thing, and it's done by both sides. Like how people who live in the north(not yankees-the war is over....you lost....get over it)view southerners. Truth is, when it comes to football traditions, fan support etc., it's as good in the north as it is anywhere.

    Stadium Size:

North: College football stadiums hold 20,000 people.

South: High school football stadiums hold 20,000 people.

Actually, 3 of the 5 biggest stadiums in the country are in the north(Ohio St.,Michigan,Penn St.). Outside of Texas, name 3 h.s. stadiums that hold 20,000...... Ohio, Pa alone overall fan support/attendance blows the rest of the south away in that regard. I would love to see what h.s. football playoff attendance in the south would be if the temperature was below 25 degrees without wind chill. We pack 'em in no matter how cold it gets, or how much snow flies. Down here, you bum rush Kroger's and prepare to be stuck in the house if the word snow is mentioned. Probably the funniest thing I've seen down here. You really don't have a clue how "fanatical" and diehard fans are up north.

    When National Anthem is Played:

North: Stands are less than half full, and less than half of them stand up. Comical.

South: 100,00 fans, all standing, sing along in perfect four-part harmony. Only ONE stadium in the entire south holds 100,000(UT).

The rest of it is even funnier. People in the north go through the same hardships in getting tickets, getting to stadiums, etc. Tailgate and party just as hard. The glories of northern football are just as rich in tradition as anywhere else in the country, and in some ways even better. The game was invented in the north. Most all of the innovations and advancements happened in the north. College and pro hall of fame is in the north. There is a reason for that, and being from the south, you wouldn't understand it. There is a saying that follows; "Where you stand depends on where you sit". Think about it. It's the way it is no matter where you're from in this great country. For 40 years I lived less than a half hour away from the cradle of football....Stark County Ohio. From where I sat, and also from where I'm sitting now here in TN, nothing in this football universe comes close to that.

...and we still dont care how yall did it up north. (War ain't over...Confederate Gov't never surrendered. We're getting ready for round two....and we got NASA in Houston and the rocket place in Huntsville the the really big thing they make up at Oak Ridge and we STILL got most of the best soldiers in the current US military from our native land.... AND we got SEC football!

Now somebody play dixie and lets get the playoffs started.

  8. If we take care of the ball I see us winning... although it will be a close one WC 21 Cookeville 14

You win the cookie for guessing the closest! Great game for the pioneers. Probably the best all round game I've seen them play all year. now for my game summary (better do this before I go to bed and deam it up differently).

Pioneers came out stong in the first half. I think Cookeville only hade the ball three times and maybe got i first down in all of that. WC defense did really good. I was really suprised Cookeville didn't try to pass a lot more than they did. WC put together a good time consuming ground game and drove about 60 or so yard on their second possession to go up 7-0. At one point WC had the ball 1st and goal on the 7 but a couple of penalties and a good Cookeville defense put them back and the Pioneers come up about 10 yards short on a FG attempt. Cookeviile looked good on offense starting the second half but it was stopped by an interception by Mr. #51 of WC. WC had to punt anter the interception and a wide snap recovered by the new punter on the 2 (he should have kicked it out the back of the end zone) gave Cookeville the ball on the 2. They stick it in and the score is now tied at 7-7. Most of the fourth quarter was played inside of Cookeville's 40 as Warren county tries to score but turns the ball over a couple of times. On the last one with just a couple of minutes to go Henegar (I think) of Cookeville grabbed the ball from the WC runner as he was about to go into the end zone. WC's defense played great all night but especially in the 4th. Anyway - final after 4 was 7-7. WC scores on the first OT play by a run up the middle by Mr #34 (Morgan Wilcher - kind of a game hero for WC tonight). 14-7 WC. Cookeville FINALLY goes into the spread offense and on the third down play I think it was they scored. Cookeviile almost missed the PAT - but got it - 14-14. Cookeville gets the ball and get to third and inches. Two attempts up the middle are stopped COLD by the pioneers and WC gets the ball back. 1st play - Wilcher for 8 years up the middle. 2nd play Wilch up the middle for the TD. WC wins 20-14. First time since 1992 Warren Co beats Cookeville.

BTW, I thought Cookeville was flat tonight. I think they are probably better them what they showed us (maybe they though they had 2nd place wrapped up . . . .so why show anything for that region 4 bunch.)

    ON TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!!

  9. Warren Co 21 Cumberland Co 7 for the final.

Cumberland County looked to be the smallest team Warren County will play all year. Warren County must have had them by 30 to 40 lbs all the way across the line. CC played very hard tonight. wish I could say the same thing about WC. The WC defense looks good most of the night (two good goal line stands) but the WC offense looked liked the didn't practice this week. Was glad they didn't put the ball on the ground quite as much as they've been doing so much earlier this season. Passing was infrequent but effective for at least one of the scores. The other two WC TD's were Mr. Wilcher pounding up the middle. Cumberland blocked an early third Quarter WC punt and recovered it in the end zone for their TD. WC's offense didn't have much of what you would call "big plays" but did put together a couple of good time consuming drives. Warren county's size eventually won the day. Hats off to the Cumberland Co punter and QB - both played very good games. Good game for the Warren Co defensive front.

Warren Co will have to really step up and do better to get a win at home next week against Lincoln Co.

  10. WC WINS !! WC WINS !!!

OK here my game summary (from memory so i might be off a little). First half neither team could get anything going on offense. I think both teams had no more than 2 first downs. Neither team could capitalize on the other teams mistakes (and they both made some). Warren county had the edge in the special teams so the momentum looked like it might go WC's way. 0 to 0 at the half. Late in the third qrt Warren county get the quick dive up the middle working with Northcutt running the ball and puts together a drive and finished it by running Wilcher up the middle for about 6 yards and a TD. Early in the 4th Coffee Co put a nice drive with Kanjanabout (I know I spelled it wrong - and he's still a great running back) poping up the middle about three or four time for big gainers and drives down fast and scores and the game is tied 7 -7. Warren County then puts together another drive and scores and is then up 14-7. In this drive the Quarterback kept the ball on the option for a couple of good runs - one was for about 60 yards or so. CC still fights hard but turns the ball over to WC on downs. CC passing game connected some but not enough. WC drives down to puts up a FG and goes up 17-7. A couple of earlier FG attemps in the game were not good but I think there was a problem with the snap getting the kickers timing was off. Kicker was then carried off the field by K Harris but he (the kicker) really doesnt weight very much so no big deal. CC tried to put some point on the board in the last three minutes and almost scored on the last play with an incomplete pass of about 15 yards into the end zone. Warren county had to run the ball tonight because the passing game wasn't working - 0 for 6 in passing I think. A couple or three of them were great passes but dropped. (I never could catch either so I was in the line).

First time Warren Co beats Coffee Co since 1999 and first time in Coffee Co since 1989 I think. (Now we don't hate Coffee County so much anymore!!)

  11. someone fill me in. What happened

Warren Co plagued by turnovers again...6 i think. White Co took advantage of turnovers and played real hard. Much better White Co team than last year. Played with much better sportmanship if you know what I mean. I think there were no penalties against White Co. Warren Co could move the ball on the run up the middle and did have a couple of good drives. Warren Co defense would stuff, sack and hold for losses and then have a pass coverage breakdown on third and long. Warren co defensive front played well although pressure on the White Co QB should have been a little better. Good to have Mr. wilcher back in the game. He score the 2nd Warren Co TD. Warren Co's Northcutt is an incredible runnng back. "Pumpkin" got flagged for a block in the back on a good Northcutt run one time.

  12. Riverdale 28

    Warren Co. 3

Let's hope that the pioneers don't jump on the Tomahawk like they did last year or it will be

    ..........

    My predection for tonight:

Warren Co come out....and stomps on the what ever it is in the middle of the field. Hey it worked last year pretty good. Riverdale was stunned to think Warren Co would even think of such a thing and were out of their game a bit plus it got the Pioneers fired up (.....till the were down by 3 TDs that is).

  13. The region 3 teams are gonna show how weak they are AGAIN Friday night. Region 3 will lose every game to a much stronger Region 4. Every team in Region 4 would be in the playoffs if they were individually each in Region 3. Region 3 has got to be the weakest region in 5A in the state. Neither Lincoln County or Coffee County would make the playoffs in Region 4. Just look at the Blackman / Lincoln County game or the Coffee County / Oakland game. Oakland finished 1-7 in their region and beat CC up and down the field all night long. Coffee County can compete for a bubble gum region 3 championship but they are no where near competing for a state title nor is any other team in Region 3.

Coffee County will make a mockary of home field advantage and lose AGAIN to Wilson Central. Wilson Central would be Region 3 Champs instead they are a 3 seed in Region 4 and have to play a 6-4 team on the road when they have an 8-2 record. WILSON CENTRAL 41 COFFEE COUNTY 13 J.T. Majors runs wild AGAIN in a laugher and a waste of everyones time. Enjoy the game

OK I just changed my mind. Now I want Coffee County to win!

  14. (This tread ain't for region 4 folks - they can all tell us how great they are later...and they do have a great region.)

After week 8 the playoff teams appear to be set but the placements are still to be decided upon. Right now the Region looks like this:

    Team Region Overall

    Coffee County 4-0 6-2

    Lincoln County 3-0 6-2

    Cookeville 2-1 6-2

    Warren County 2-2 5-3

    Franklin County 0-4 1-7

    Cumberland Co 0-4 0-8

The remaining region games are Lincoln Co vs. Cookeville; Lincoln co vs. Coffee Co Cookeville vs Warren Co and Franklin Co vs Cumberland Co.

If Cookeville and Coffee Co win the rest of their games the playoff placements will be:

    1 Coffee Co 5-0

    2 Cookeville 4-1

    3 Lincoln Co 3-2

    4 Warren Co 2-3

    or if Lincoln beat Cookeville:

    2. Lincoln Co

    3. Cookeville

If Lincoln Co beats Cookeville and Coffee and Cookeville beats Warren:

    1. Lincoln Co

    2. Coffee Co

    3. Cookeville

    4. Warren Co

    or if Warren Co wins:

    3. Warren Co

    4. Cookeville

Here's where it get interesting: If Lincoln beats Coffee but looses to Cookeville and Cookeville beats Warren (and Coffee beats Goodpasture) we have one of those three way tie things all three with a region of 4-1 and overall of 7-3. We then look at teams they defeated that won 50% or more of their games. Cookeville would probably have four (Warren Co and Lebanon and MUS and Lincoln Co) Coffee would probably have 4 (Tullahoma, Warren Co, Cookeville and Goodpasture) and Lincoln would have three (Coffee Co, Warren Co and Tullahoma). I don't know if they go back to the head to head to determine if Cookeville or Coffee Co gets the first spot or if the go on to the next step - so I dont know what would happen.

If Warren beats Cookeville AND Ensworth AND then Lincoln looses to Cookeville and to Coffee (AND if the stars line up just right AND if ALGore finally admits to being an idiot, etc etc.) then it gets interesting again. Coffee Co would get 1st by being 5-0 in the region (we would all be sick of them by now and wish them bad luck in the playoffs). Warren Co , Cookeville and Lincoln Co would all be 3-2 in the region with Warren Co at 7-3, Cookeville overall 7-3 and Lincoln Co overall at 7-3. I think Warren Co would be 2nd by virture of beating Cookeville in the head to head match and it would end up like this:

    1. Coffee Co 5-0

    2 Warren Co 3-2 (7-3)

    3 Cookeville 3-2 (7-3)

    4 Lincoln Co 3-2 (6-4)

Unless of couse they dont go back to the head to head but look at victories of 50% teams then Warren Co would have two (Cookeville and Ensworth) Cookeville would have three (MUS and Lincoln Co and Lebanon - assuming Leabanon beats Blackman or siegel) and Lincoln Co would have two (Warren Co and Tullahoma).

    Then I get confused again.

    Hey, I can deam can't I?

  15. I would say this would be a good game because I was certainly impressed with SOME aspects of Franklin County's football team, however, the upset last year is gonna kill the Rebels. Cookeville will win by 14...maybe 17. If Franklin County will come out and sling the ball all over the field like they did in the second half against Coffee County they could win...but the problem is they don't seem to do that until they get behind...but it could work...Cookeville's DB's aren't any better than Coffee County's are. I did read on the Cookeville Web site that they will be stopping at Shoney's in Manchester to eat...haha you may catch em with food poisoning....that place is HORRIBLE lol!

Come on the McMinnville...y'all can eat Mexican here in about 4 places.
