  1. Thx....... Good luck to the Tribe!
  2. Welcome in Coach Jeff. Good luck to him and I hope the 'uppers' let him do his job the way he wants to do it.
  3. I am thrilled to see that Pless will be the principle next year. That means, hopefully, they will make a quality hire for the head football coaching position along with letting the coach 'set' his assistants for the job he wants them to do. Shawn Witten is the name that is bouncing around and I am sure the community and kids would be proud to see him back on his old stomping grounds full of knowledge from VT and UT. If he gets the help (coaches) he should, we should all see a turnaround over the next 3-4 years. It won't happen over night but I can't think of a better young man to take ahold of the program. Just let him run with it and don't hold him back! And yes, good for Eddie. He has been around.
  4. Way to go EAGLES. Keep it goin' and good luck!!
  5. CONGRADULATIONS to the Rangers players and coaches. You made the show when others did not. That, in itself, is a feat. Good job. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  6. GOOD LUCK RANGERS!! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  7. Good luck to Gibbs. I hope they win it all! They were a class group of young men and it was a pleasure to watch them and our class Cyclones compete. GOOD LUCK EAGLES!!
  8. WWW.CYCLONESBB.COM Housewright....... is he a lefty? We have seen a few this season. Two good ones and as you, we don't know much about Gibbs. Should be a dandy. Good luck!
  9. Good Stuff......... that is a question u might want to ask Rutledge??
  10. Rutledge had four hits and the Cyclone pitcher threw strikes /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Sr. Scott Burleson was Elizabethton's pitcher.
  11. I think it is like any of the Regional games. When teams are this far 'down the road' they are all pretty good. Should be a very entertaining game. GO CYCLONES!!
  12. Rutledge started #5, Dalton. He was relieved ( I think) in the 5th by #16. Rutledge committed 5 errors. Two on bunts but there were plenty of base hits as well. And thanks Fan. I was the only dumba** who would do it after 4 games of silence on our home field last season. The regulars were too good for us.
  13. When you get this far you know that both teams are of good quality. In the earlier game played at Elizabethton, neither team played well and they both knew it. Elizabethton barely got by, but again, neither looked good. I look for them both to let it all hang out. It'll be a 'slobber knocker' and should be a great game to watch. GO CYCLONES!!!
  14. Congradulations to Rutledge and also to Pigeon Forge. The Tigers had a fine season end tonight at the hands of the Cyclones, 3-0. The Cyclones will host a great Rutledge team on Wednesday. Good luck.....
  15. This is just the scenario that Elizabethton was after. The exact match-up they had last year. The loser will be determined by games end. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  16. In that situation, it is not the umpires responsibility to coach the team. Kind of like explaining a balk to a pitcher. That is the coaches responsibility. Tough luck, but 11 innings in one day is out of line as well for a young pitcher.
  17. God Bless Him and His Family. What an athlete........
  18. Burton is a fine athlete but he won't be playing football at ETSU. At least not on the school's team /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  19. Mine is better than your........ AND Bigger /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  20. Then there are some kids who can't get into most of the DIIIs because of grades. DIIIs don't give atheletic $ but they do give academic $. That means you must have very descent grades to recieve $. Keep in mind also that NAIA is fading and the drop offs are going to DII & DIII.
  21. It was a classic pitching duel. Alexander had his stuff (3 hitter) at Joe O'Brien Field. Burleson for the Cyclones (2 hitter) had it going on as well...... Kind of like I said though..........lots of ball yet to be played. Cyclones, 1-0
  22. + I think it is way to early to call any of these games "game of the year" although I'm sure Wykle and company will bring thier A game to Joe O'Brien Field in Elizabethton. There are some other teams in the 'hunt' as well. Lots of ball left! Elizabethton sweep thru Myrtle Beach during thier spring break and now stand at 11-4, 4-1

    Unicoi Co.

Unicoi swung the bats tonight and proved they are a contender for the Watauga. Well played, clean game and it should set everything up for a great season of baseball. Good luck.......... Devils 8-3
  24. This has been a grand little debate by the educated and the uneducated. Everyone has an opinion and they are to be respected. Now it's time to support the Cyclones and their quest. Game time for tonights home contest vs. JJ Kelly of Wise, VA. is 6P. Maybe we can continue any debate at that time if needed. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> I'd love to see you all come down and support the team. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
