  1. Finally a college goes in their own back yard and gets players, That is the most instate players I have seen Tech recruit in years.

Unforunately, if you want to compete at the D-1 FBS level you have to get the best players you can, that's why Tennessee, Vanderbilt, MTSU and Memphis have to look outside for other players. For instance, since Rick Stockstill has been at MTSU he has recruited 20 something players from Florida. Most of the time, Florida has faster, athletic kids than Tennessee. Plus, they have a larger selection, especially in the Tampa and Miami areas.

  2. Burnett to MTSU. Never saw that one coming. I thought to hear talk he was going to the ACC...Virginia, UNC, NC State. Very, very good arm, absolutely no speed. In today's game that adds up to ...MTSU scholarship.

Looking at the style MTSU plays, he probably won't have much playing time with the Raiders. With Sancho McDonald and Dwight Dasher as the top QB's, I just don't see Burnett getting a lot of snaps. But regardless, glad to have him!

  3. Allen did a phonemoenal job, but he should have drove in the lane for two at that point in time. When they were down six, he had to go for three. But, that's my opinion. Every person on Oakland did show up, with the exception of the third over-time.

  4. What a great game! Probably the best hs game I have ever seen. But, why in the world did Allen keep shooting for three's in the third OT... There was plenty of time to go for a two, then try to steal and make it up later. But Clarksville played great and capitalized on Oakland's late mishaps. Congraulations to both teams on their tremendous seasons.

  5. Being an experet on the pit since smyrna went there 3 years in a row let me tell you the last 2 years it was not intimidating at all as a matter of fact it was a ghost town compared to what it usually is. Now the 1st year we went when they were undefeated it was unbelieveable and the next week when they played riverdale it was the best hs atmosphere ever but ------------- if the fans there don't think they will win the state they stay home and that is a shame for the players there.

I agree. Sometimes there tends to be a lot of fair weather fans (my parents included). It's sad, too bad I only get to attend one/two games a season  . Although if the weather is nice and it's not too cold, I think there will be a big crowd, because most fans feel that Lincoln County should beat Lebanon.

  6. I can't believe no one has talked about this already, but I will start the topic. I have seen both teams play, so I have a good idea of what I seen.

Lebanon is a decent team, but very inconsistent at times (i.e. Blackman). They tend to usually rely on their QB to hook up to their number 1 wr, while throwing in a little bit of run. The defense is stingy at times, but breaks down at times as well. Special teams are very crucial, because they were off-balanced and that's why Blackman won against Lebanon earlier in the season.

Lincoln County seems to be inconsistent at times as well. If Jeremy Ramsey (RB) has a good game, the team seems to be very strong. The offensive line is weak (AT TIMES) but has also shown strengths (AT TIMES). Defensively the team is sound even without Marcus Foxx. The Falcons tend to get beat in the secondary at times, which could be dangerous with Lebanon's number one wideout.

My prediction: Lebanon gives the Falcons a tough first half, before Lincoln County pulls away in the third and fourth quarter. Lebanon has some play makers, but the Falcons have better talent. The only question is will the Falcons lack intensity like they did against Cookeville? If Lebanon comes in to "the Pit" fired up, it could be another Cookeville deja vu all over again for the Falcons. Remember, Lebanon did beat the Cavs' early in the season, but Cookeville was a younger team at that time.

  7. Yes sir we at LaVergne have some what adopted the color black just as Louiville has recently so therefore on Senior night we will wear black in honor of our Seniors thanks for the intrest

Good idea. To play like winners, you go to be like winners and Louisville is number 7 in the nation an undefeated so not a bad scheme. :thumb:
