  2. Heritage High School, a brand new school in North Georgia, is seeking a football coach who is certified in Social Studies. Only men who want to build a championship program need apply! Contact Coach James at 423-240-2832, we will discuss position responsibilities and pay.

  3. Just a few thoughts on the Marshall County situation and high school sports in general.

    1.Everyone is an expert!

    2. When is the last time you coached a 15, 16 or 17 year old kid?

    3. Did your livelyhood depend on that outcome?

    4. I feel that if a team is not successful, we as a society place too much blame on coaches and not enough on the individuals who play under them.

    5. We tend to find someone to blame for our failures in life instead of taking the resonsibility and learning from our mistakes.

"Most of the time; lack of success is not the result of the coach and his x's and o's, but the ability of his Jimmies and Joes."

    What do you think?

  4. Just an idea for changes to the start date and play-off system in football.

Why not take the top two teams from each region.

Then bring back bowl games for all teams who are .500 or better. Advantages: Season could start later and end earlier. 15 games is too many. We could actually play football in football weather. TSSAA could still take 50% of bowl game gates. Everybody wins!

    What are your thoughts?

  5. Coach Davis has done an excellent job at Polk. His team is well disciplined and hardnosed. They are two deep up front and that takes it's toll late in the third and fourth quaters. Their special team do an outstanding jo as well. They do not do anything fancy; except win. I wish them well.

  6. For those of you who need to get your football fix; there is the 2nd annual Prebul KIA Tennessee/Georgia Football Classic. The game will be held June the 11th

(this Saturday night). Last years game resulted in a win for the Tennessee team. I believe Tennessee won the fight as well. If you would like to see some of the best talent in southeast Tennessee go head to head with the cream of the crop from northwest Georgia, you won't want to miss this one. Pregame tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. $10.00 at the gate for adults and still only $5.00 for the kids. You can pick up your tickets in the Chattanooga Are at the following locations: The Sports Spectrum on Hwy 58, Logan's Road House next to Northgate Mall, The Athletic Shop in Red Bank, Sunshine Fast Lube in Ooltewah. and the Diamond Tower in East Ridge. The Sports Spectrum location on Hwy 2 A in Fort Oglethorpe also have tickets. Hope to see you there! thumb
