Any one that knows football would agree that Georgia has a pretty good football tradition, better than TN's. At least college recruiters think so. I f you go down there and watch a game you are going to see two types of offense. A spread offense that throws every down or some variation of the wing t. If its good enought to win there then it can win here.

I don't see it as doubt so much as I see it as others are trying to psych themselves up. This time of year every team sees itself 15-0 at the end of the season. Thing is only R'dale seems to do it!

 

R'dale has always had the 'psych' edge on every team it has played. It shows when they take the field. They "KNOW" they are winners and then they prove it to the other teams. This year the others 'think' they have the edge as Coach Rankin and others have left. Thing is they forget it is the players that win games.

Smyrna has a big monkey on their back and he's waving a tomahawk. I don't care how good they are, they can't win this one. They could go farther in the playoffs, but head to head they can't do it

If I'm not mistaken (correct me if otherwise) the maker of the new turf came from MTSU and is giving the turf to them. That could only be rumor though.

The maker of the original field turf is in fact an mtsu alum, he offered to give them the turf,when it first became popular, if mtsu would name the field FIELD TURF FIELD. At the time mtsu did not have the money to do the nessesary upgrades to women's sports(under title nine everything must be equal, if men's basketball gets something new so does women's basketball) Now that the upgrades have taken place in the women's sports mtsu can replace the old turf but they are using a different brand so its not free but they are getting a good deal. Also a jumbotron is being discussed

It is amazing to me how "small minds" can not comprehend the simpliest of thingss. First of all sweep left, the only thing I have been smoking is the turkey that I killed hunting this past week. As for "big head", whoever that may be, I don't profess to know his agenda. You know you should really consider choosing your words carefully when attempting to make a point. I do have it from very reliable sources that Tom Nolan, his wife, and David Watson and his girlfriend where seen together on the General Jackson last night. Like it or not, David Watson will be the next Riverdale football coach.

not true, i saw watson and his girlfriend at toot's on friday night and nolan was not there.

people talk about the well going dry but there are many kids that go to Riverdale that don't play football that should. Many hear about Rankin or have had some kind of problem and don't play, its a shame but it happens. A new coach could generate a little interest and bring a handful of kids out that could help.

hey guys,well the news at smyrna is that sam's parents meet with the coaches this past weekend and called numerous times,and as of now he is supposed to be at shs as early as next week!nothing 100% sure yet but thats what i have heard as little as next week,

I know someone who had to wear a tinted visor due to the fact that he had a disease that caused his eyes to be sensative to light. Whether it is legal or not the ref let him wear it.

Clear visors are legal and tinted ones are too, but you have to have a perscription for it from your doctor, don't ask me what condition calls for a tinted visor for night games btu i have seen them

Siegel is coming off its best year ever at 5-5 during the season and winning its bowl game and they are loosing few Seniors the team is pretty much still intact along with Junior wide reciever standout Sam Youree coming over to play arguably the best reciever in the state so i say Siegel will win the District ya the same D that Riverdale is in there time is done Gaston is gone ya they have scott but hes not Dave they won with Dave and Gaston they couldnt win with Scott and Gaston so what are they gonna do with just Scot and alot of that godd defense is gone so Riverdale dynasty will end

dang...believe me its REAL hard to come out and say this but im actually not on the team anymore...i quit about 2 weeks ago. it was a tough decision, and its even tougher to talk about. definately no hard feelings between me and the program, but i guess the best way to sum up my decision is i wanted to pursue other things in life. bout to be 16, looking at gettin a job, trying to open up oppurtunities for spending time in school and out of school preparing me to be successful in life. might sound corny and as im making the "standard" excuse, but thats how i feel.

 

i realized i rarely ever gave 100% when i was out there, and it was doing a injustice to the team to be one of the few out there not giving 100%. believe all the starters out their give 100%, i definately admire them for that and thats what makes the program so great. i know probably a couple of coaches will read this, and i hope they respect my decision as i respect them as coaches. it definately was one of the bigger decisions ive had to make in life, as football is such a big part of my life (watching the pro bowl right now).

 

to my teammates, i hope yall all get rings this year. i'll be at every game, just not in uniform. will i come back senior year? maybe...depends on if the hunger comes back.

was kit really in yalls zone or not i mean its not gonna cause anything he is graduated now and moved on but was he illegal?

no. he was legal, why would Riverdale allow a great player like kit move in and not properly take care of all the paper work. We knew it would be talked about. His parents moved up here, everything was cleared and im glad he moved up here, he was the most underrated player on the team and if you ask around probably the best on the team. he played big in every game big or small

it seems like this is the usual off season for region 4-5A

1. Rankin leaving Riverdale

2. Riverdale can't replace another Mr. Football

3. Oakland is going to be much improved and a contender

4. And of course the always optimistic and over confident Smyrna fans stating this will be their year to win it!!!!

Same off season= same regular season; which means another year for smyrna to say WAIT TIL' NEXT YEAR

did it ever cross anyone's mind that the reason history is listed is because of collins' ability to teach both. If they find an assisstant that teaches history then collins will move to dr. ed or vice versa

I have never understood that either, of course a linebacker will have better stats and probably more coverage. Something else i don't like about Mr. football is there is 17 of them. have divisional players of the year and one mr. football

I've been to the extreme clinic the last two years, its a good clinic. Interesting to hear from some of of Georgia's top coaches.

I haven't been to cookeville in a few years and i don't doubt it be hostile but i know the warriors have played in tough places( the pit in 03', @ oak ridge in 03', @ w.c this year) many of the seniors have played in big ball games in the last three years. This group knows how to travel.

i know its early but i'm sure smyrna fans have already made their annual playoff statement " wait til' next year"

Lavergne had the biggest turnaround, maybe they can build a tradition and not be a one time wonder, and don't forget their not done yet!! Go beat Cookeville!!!

I thought this was about the battle, not a thread to bash Dave Thomas. There is no tape being sent and its because he didn't hit anyone. He was tslking trash so Riverdale's sideline was cleared. And Dave is sitting out because of the knee injury.

now back to real real topic of trying to predict how bad Oakland will lose
