  1. Region4fan,

Thank you for your kind words. You are a class act.

We are still hurting in Fayetteville today, but your thoughtful post was very comforting; and I am sure the rest of the Falcon Fans on here feel the same.

    You are a wonderful therapist!!

Good luck to Riverdale and to Franklin next week. Let's keep the "Big Gold Ball" in Middle Tennessee.

  2. I am really sorry for the Falcons and especially sad for the wonderful Falcon fans that I have come to love and look forward to hearing from on Coacht. No one can ever take away the facts that you guys had the only undefeated season in 5A in 2003. No one can take away the fact that you broke Riverdale's home winning streak at Tomahawk. No one can take the fact away that you beat ALL the Boro schools in the regular season! No one can can take away that you have not one, but two Mr Football Nominees. No one can take away the number of fans that packed your stadium and opponents stadiums to cheer you on. No one can take away the admiration that fans from other schools have for you and your breath-taking talent and big plays. Right now you are hurting. Everyone knows that......but later......enjoy those fabulous memories. I know that I will never forget those fabulous Falcons of 2003, led by the ELUSIVE Michael Edmiston. You gave Kelly Holcomb a run for his money and title! GOD Bless all of you in Fayetteville!

  3. Thank you LINCOLN COUNTY for a great season. I am so proud of you and proud to be a FALCON. My heart goes out to all of you, especially the seniors. I know you are hurting now but hold your heads high. 12-1 is a great season in anybody's book.

  4. That was great Jabbo. I watched the replay of last week's game tonight. My heart was about to jump out of my chest again. Gosh I can't wait til tomorrow nite. Don't think I will be able to sleep tonight. I'm soooooo fired up and ready.

  6. i feel absolutely horrible now, i guess i am goin to this game regardless of whether i want to or not so i can make it up to you guys. falcon you just name the place and time as far as restaurants go and i will treat everyone of your crew to some dinner, whether it be at the barn or at the pit, i now really want to meet you guys, but i feel the best place to do that would be to meet somewhere outside the pit

I guess we can forgive you. I am just glad you are ok. We were beginning to get worried that something had happened to you since we hadn't seen you on here since Friday. I had 2 pieces of your cake. It sure was good!!! I work in Shelbyville and run 231 over the ridge every day. It's not so bad once you get used to it; and I guess you are getting pretty used to it by now. Just watch out for the deer.

I don't know about the rest of the Falcon fans on here but there is no way we invite you to "The PIT" and allow you to buy dinner. That just would not be right. I doubt if I could get in from work in time for dinner before the game, but I would buy you a burger at the game if you decide to come, and I hope you do, but only if you really want to. How could you possibly choose bball over this game anyway.

  8. i am very much looking forward to my 2nd trip to the pit in as many weeks

we look forward to you coming to the "PIT" again and i am so proud to see that you are keeping your word.....did falconmama ever reply about the pregame party

    GO FALCONS!!!!

  9. The Blanket Bowl? Is that the same as the Mid State Bowl? Fayetteville Central played in the Mid State Bowl in 1969 & 1970. I thought it was in Lebanon but I could be wrong. I do know this though. Central played Hillsboro in 1969 and Gallatin in 1970. They lost both games. All the players on both teams received blankets. Does anybody remember anything about this?

I remember them very well. I was a cheerleader for Fayetteville Central then.

Never heard of the Blanket Bowl, but I do remember the Mid State Bowls. I just do not remember where we played.

  10. i just wanna let all the falcon fans know that i truly enjoy every time i go up to the pit, it is truly a spectacle and it makes it just that much more special when ya have 1st class program, school and coach. hopefully oakland will bring a crowd friday night, which traditionally oakland has brought some pretty big crowds to the pit, so we shall see

Thank you so much for saying that. It gave me goose bumps to read it. We are very proud of the "PIT", and when I see a compliment like this from an opponent it makes me even prouder. Hope we have a huge crowd Friday nite.

    Go Falcons!!!!!

  11. You can't overlook Thompson at all. He would actually get my vote if I had one and was forced to be unbiased.

And yes, TJ played at Lincoln County- helped lead them to their first state championship.

Not only did Tim Johnson help lead Lincoln County to their first state championship, he scored the winning touchdown. He is also the only player at Lincoln County High to have his jersey retired.
