Talent level is very close between these two teams.
-
York is a tough group of kids running an old offense a lot of younger fans and our players have not seen before.
Milan wins 48 - 0
-
Milan wins this one 35-0

this is one game not to miss. This should be 7 pts. either way. Milan has the edge on D even with the loss of Coleman and Wise. Milan still has the best LB in the state.
Two of the best coaches around makes it even more interesting especially with Pratt being from Milan.
Milan by 3

Okay..I have seen the play and have several copies from different angles. If I can figure out how to get the video play on here, I will. This is what happened: Christian and number 51 were standing, engaged on the line when the play begins; number 67 dove under the linemen, while Christian was actively engaged with number 51, and hits Christian on his left side somewhere between the knee and ankle; once Christian is falling left from that hit, number 67 proceeds to roll right, face up--towards Christians back--allowing himself to roll "up" Christians left leg (he did not roll away from Christian, but into Christian); once Christian is falling left--and almost down--number 54 comes and hits Christian on his right side, between the knees and ankles, laying on his back until the whistle is blown.
Now...someone tell me what that is?
An illegal chop block.

It's disgusting. Stowe should be fired tommorow. Thug.
Dyersburg football is now irrevelavant. I"m sure Counce wouldn't let this thug play go on.
-
What's up with Christian Coleman? Hope the kid is OK. He has a great future ahead of him. Sounds like on obviouse CHEAP shot. If not I apologize for my reaction. I hope the Dyersburg coaching staff handles the situation appropriately but it sounds like they got bigger fish to fry. I am sure some will probably say it is "just" football. Maybe your right, but I would like to see the CHEAP shot. If nothing else I hope the CHEAP shot kid is still on the team next year (if there is a Dyersburg team next year). What goes around comes around. Would like to see Christian take care of it.
Broken ankle and lucky that's all it is and yes it was a designed play to take him out. Who designed the play is what I would like to know?

Milan rolls big tonight!! I'm guessing by 14-21 at the least. The Dawgs have too many weapons for a Trojan team that is in disaray. Guessing the Defensive game plan is to shut down Taylor, unsure if there are other legitimate threats? Looking for the Dawgs to get the ball out on the edges in space to exploit some good matchups for us. Gonna be both cool and wet tonight so bundle up Bulldog Fans!!!
I agree. Milan has a couple boys on D that HAVE to be double teamed which is going to be a problem for the Trojans.
-
All the Mustange have to do in this one is hold onto the ball and eat clock for the easy win.
-
I can't pick one here. Both teams have such good coaching and neither team will quit if behind. Ok....Camden by 3 at home.
-
One game at a time.
-
Milan has to go through Dyersburg (1051) Covington (807) Haywood (990) Ripley (910)
Milan is tiny with 626 compared to those schools but you just have to man up and get it done.
-
It has been noticeably quite in Bulldog land since last Friday night....maybe still getting over being down 14-7 going into the 4th quarter ?
USJ and JCS are now 0-9 against the Bulldogs. At least Stewart has the guts to still play us.
Milan/Huntingdon is always a good game. Throw records, stats, etc. out the window. None of that matters in this one.
-
Huntingdon runs I formation in first half with not much success. They go to the Wing in 2nd half and start moving the ball. Left guard for Huntingdon did an outstanding job.
IMO, the best team won.
-
Milan had 4 starters out against Dyer Co. and 3 more that will get significant playing time and they still dominated. This is a very deep Milan team.
-
I miss the UC/Milan games of the 80's and 90's. Barnes against Tucker. Those were some battles.
Good luck this year.
-
Milan senior LB's Avery Williamson has a Kentucky offer and J. Gilbert has an Arkansas. St. offer.
Jr. DE Christian Coleman will be D1 was well.

Below is a quote from the offical Goodpasture Websight.

Welcome back to Carter’s Corner on the GP Football Website. Each week you will receive the inside scoop on Goodpasture football during the upcoming season. As with any season, there are always changes. One obvious change is the helmet design. Another change is the significant size in the interior line.
Last year on third down and short the Cougars went with their Jumbo Package up front. This year the team is large enough to go "Jumbo" on every play. The Cougars largest offensive lineman last year was #72 Kyle Taylor @ 245 pounds. This year Taylor has been moved to center and is the smallest starting offensive lineman. What a difference a year makes. The line averages nearly 300 pounds which is larger than several NFL teams.
Left tackle is now anchored by Big Keith Blanton who checks in @ 6'7 327 pounds. This guy is a human wrecking machine who transferred from Sycamore and sat out almost all of last season. He is a nice insurance policy as he protects the blind side of the young QB. He will be playing on Saturday next year as college scouts salivate at his physical size and skills. Right now, he has Texas & Marshall very high on his list. His quick feet and size is what the recruiters love at his position.
The right tackle is Deandre Carney, a transfer from Antioch . Carney is 6'6 332 pounds & is only a rising junior with a lot of talent. No wonder the tailbacks have a smile on their face.

. Henry County is much better than Milan. .
-
How did the Bulldogs look in the scrimmage against Henry County?
Pretty good - with first teams looked like HC won 14-10. Bulldogs should be fine this year with lots of talent.
Wished these two played a regular season game. It would be a good one with a huge crowd.
Both teams are very good.
-
Great scrimmage tonight at Paris. Both teams are well coached and talented.
I wouldn't be surprised to see them both playing in Cookeville come December.
-
This is a very good Milan team you will see Friday but I don't expect either Morris or Gaddis to show too much.
Milan's D is their strength with Jr. Christian Coleman (6'4" 253) and Sr. Matt Wise (6'4" 250) anchoring the D line and Kentucky offeree 3 star LB. Sr. Avery Williamson(6'2" 220) and Arkansas State offeree Sr. J. Gilbert (5'11" 200) anchoring the LB's.
If there is a question mark for this Milan team it would have to be the QB. He is a senior and one heck of an athlete(fastest kid on the team) but is still a 1st time starter.
There are certain things both coaches will be working on that the average fan won't understand. I expect both coaches will experiment with multiple players at different times. I hope both teams stay injury free.

Zebra 99 must be from Humboldt. Name those 3 teams

Milan LB Avery Williamson has a full scholly offer from the University of Kentucky. Great kid and on and off the field.
ALCOA VS. MILAN, Let's get this started!!
