  1. LOL-you beat me to this one! We def. need to tighten up some on the front line, both ways. We can't win playing in spurts. I know we can do this. Get to work boys, hold your heads high and take advantage of being at home. We're very proud of all you have accomplished, now the post season begins. WooHoo!!

    GO BIG BLUE!!

  2. LOL, thought you'd like that. Keep me posted on this one, Sis. We will be on the air in the morning at 10 instead of tonight. We will be broadcasting playoff matchups live.

If I get signals down there in Metro Moore Co, you know I will. You do the same, please!

    "Love those Rockets"!! WooHoo!! :thumb:

  3. Shame on you, Nan! Our train whistle was only played in attempts to make you fine Forrest fans feel at home...You know that track thru Chapel Hill is legendary this time of year... Have ya seen the light on the tracks recently?

It'd been a few years. It is pretty awesome.

  4. The announcer is not the train whistle guy, some people like it some don't, as for my self I like the announcer I think he does a great job, and yes he does get into the game.Chapel Hill does have a good team and they are the bigger of the two schools but TSSAA seems too think that single a schools can play with AA schools nothing we can do about that so let the games begin.

I can tell you, the visiting team NEVER likes that whistle. Cascade tries to make the noise with their band, but all it did last week was fire us up. It's Wednesday, practice should fire those Rockets up. Get ready to blast off, Rockets, and leave MC on the field wondering what happened. :thumb:

    GO BIG BLUE!!

  5. I honestly believe that Cascade will be in Quad 3 and White House Heritage will be in Quad 2. Now, with regards to the seeding of the teams we are in agreement that the system lacks, but I disagree that Cascade should automatically deserve a better seeding over Friendship, or anyone, just because the Champions are district champs. This system can't take that into account because some districts are weaker than others (I am not saying that you play in a weak district) and it would be like rewarding that team twice. Once for being in a weak district and second for a better seed over a team with a better record and probably strength of schedule. Lastly, allow me to say again that I hate this system and wish we would just go back the way we had it.

I assume you think Cascade will win the district? It ain't so, yet. They have to get past Eagleville, and we lose to Moore Co. We won't know anything 'till Saturday, or after the games on Friday night.

  6. Cascade comes off a disappointing loss to Forrest. Can they put together a solid game and take home the "W" ? Eagleville took Huntland to the woodshed and their first string defense is stingy. This should be a good ball game. Eagleville depends on their defense and Cascade can move the ball up and down the field. Cascade was missing a couple of key players last night and if they are both back it will improve their chances a lot.

After playing both, if Cascade isn't in let down mode, don't think Eagleville can handle them. Eagleville has a lot of speed, and good blocking up front. The teams all in all are pretty evenly matched, but in my opinion Mr. Carkuff will make the difference. Just my opinion for what little it's worth. :popcorneater:

  7. It'll always be Chapel Hill to me. It's a special place just like Lynchburg. I heard the Rockets have a coach by the name of David Evans. Is he the same David Evans that was a kicker and a pretty good tackle for the Raiders back in the late 90s?

Don't really know. Could be, we've got a few Lynchburg'ers at Forrest now. Coach Jean is a wonderful basketball coach. This group of coaches in Chapel Hill seem to work well together. The kids have a lot of respect for all the football coaches and that makes for a better team. :thumb:

  8. Thanks for the input, and you are right about their announcer, and I think he may be the one who provides the "train whistle" over the microphone as well. Of course the guy at Community was almost as bad. I'll have to say the Cascade guy kept it respectable. LOL-I like to see someone refer us as "Chapel Hill". We call it old school. I love Forrest, but Chapel Hill brings back great memories, and is our past, like Lynchburg. I think I am tearing up. Anyway . . . .

GO BIG BLUE, OR IN THIS CASE, WHITE!

  9. Well, it's already week ten. At the first of the season a lot of our fans wondered if we'd win a game. These determined young men didn't wonder. They melded together and created a TEAM. No "CAPTAIN". All the seniors are captains. Yes we have standouts. The rest of the team works hard together to make sure they play their best everygame. Off the soapbox now.

You can spot the Raiders a few points for "home field advantage". Hate like the devil to have to play there. Cascade is just as bad, but we did it. Get back in focus, Rockets. Celebrating is fun, especially after a great win like that, but we need to get down to business. BEAT THOSE RAIDERS!

    GO BIG BLUE!!
