Zack Ziegler (Greenbrier) has committed to Tennessee Tech along with Hunter Beedle (Kingsport)...

How far has the education dropped in TN? Do they still teach English/grammar anymore?
Go Springfield.
-
I'm thinking Lawrence County will finish better than last...They have a couple of underrated players that will at least keep them out of the cellar. The Metro road trips will indeed be huge obstacles to overcome.
GO 'Cats
GO T T U !

well i guess about the only TN standouts left are goodenow and lamm. has anyone heard anything about them?
Lamm (Loretto) has signed with Vanderbilt, so not being drafted (as of the 48th round), is not surprising; - some scouts say most kids don't sign with the pro club (unless drafted high) anyway when signed to a major college (Vandy being an up-and-comer in the college game and good academics - although they are no Tennessee Tech).
He'll do great as a 'Dore!

Stephen SHults, Lawrence Co. HIgh School/Walter State CC - 14th round to the ATL Braves

What Lawrence Co. needs is a dose of reality that there really isn't "politics" involved in who plays, how much they play, who gets scholarships, etc. Just about every small town blames "politics" for their problems...I'm a proud LCHS alumni and I hate to see it when I hear people say the coach "yells too much," "only plays his/her favorites," or "can't get enough players scholarships." Here's hoping they get a quality educator and coach to fill the position for a great community that deserves it. Maybe the community (parents, et. al) will give a coach an honest chance as well.
For the record, I never met the former coach or saw them play, just concerned when LCHS gets this perceived "negative" attention.

Not that it matters here, and its 'off-topic,' but the only QB TTU got was Lee Sweeney, transfer from U of Louisville. He played at Friendship Christian. Maybe Zach can play defense, WR, etc. ?
-
Was Hennigan a senior? ...and will he end up at TTU with his Dad? Great kid. Great family.
-
Thanks. I had heard of a Lincoln Co. High School reference regarding that job...By the way, why can I not post on the college boards? Do you have to be a Plus member? Thanks, again.

Just curious about who's possibly taking the post at Giles County...Heard a few rumors that I won't talk about regarding their new head football coach. Does anyone have any updated information? Thanks.

I still am holding out hope for TTU...They play MTSU this year, and Im predicting the TTU victory already!
-
Let's hope he goes to TTU !!!
-
I was a placekicker at Lawrence County in the early '90's and then at Tennessee Tech in '95 & '96...
-
Congrats from a TTU alum, and former worker at Livingston Hospital...Congrats!!! Now, lets hope and pray that the QB will wear purple and gold next year - we NEED YOU!!!
Great job!

Does anyone know what happened to Donnell Mayben ? I read where he was a signee for Tennessee Tech this season, but he is not listed on their 2005-06 roster. Thanks!
-
Kirk Williams and the entire staff at Greenbrier needs some accolades here.
-
Ive heard Golden Tate will be a Golden Eagle and go to Tennessee Tech to play football...Okay, Im kidding, but I can hope can't I?? Looking forward to seeing him play in the coming weeks/years...I hope he's ready for all of the attention he will get during/after his senior year.
-
Here's a Lawrence County fan hoping you are wrong...Do the Cats have a chance against Whites Creek? Doesn't look like Loretto and Giles County have too much this year, and the 'Cats played well against those opponents...
-
What time is kickoff? 7 or 7:30???
Thanks

Fairview should have a junior this year who has a range of 55+ as well...a little trouble with accuracy last year, but would think this would continue to improve with age/practice/experience, etc...
-
Placekicker (hardest to perform well)
-
Have to give Fairview a little credit, as well. Great season!

First, I would try to find an ATC or PT who had their CSCS (Strength & COnditioning Certification), for advice on techniques, exercises, etc.
Next, like anything (golf, for example) - the more you do it, the better you should get at it. So, simply sprint a lot! Also, train your "power" muscles or fast-twitch muscles with jumping, bounding, hills (up and downhill), any 'explosive' movements. Good strength training is always important. It is absolutely essential to become more flexible - i.e., lots of stretching.
Ask someone you trust like coach, trainer, etc. and make sure you are cleared by an MD. GOOD LUCK!
Signing day is just a little over a week away
