  1. I'm thinking Lawrence County will finish better than last...They have a couple of underrated players that will at least keep them out of the cellar. The Metro road trips will indeed be huge obstacles to overcome.

    GO 'Cats

    GO T T U !

  2. well i guess about the only TN standouts left are goodenow and lamm. has anyone heard anything about them?

Lamm (Loretto) has signed with Vanderbilt, so not being drafted (as of the 48th round), is not surprising; - some scouts say most kids don't sign with the pro club (unless drafted high) anyway when signed to a major college (Vandy being an up-and-comer in the college game and good academics - although they are no Tennessee Tech).

He'll do great as a 'Dore!

  3. What Lawrence Co. needs is a dose of reality that there really isn't "politics" involved in who plays, how much they play, who gets scholarships, etc. Just about every small town blames "politics" for their problems...I'm a proud LCHS alumni and I hate to see it when I hear people say the coach "yells too much," "only plays his/her favorites," or "can't get enough players scholarships." Here's hoping they get a quality educator and coach to fill the position for a great community that deserves it. Maybe the community (parents, et. al) will give a coach an honest chance as well.

For the record, I never met the former coach or saw them play, just concerned when LCHS gets this perceived "negative" attention.

  4. Ive heard Golden Tate will be a Golden Eagle and go to Tennessee Tech to play football...Okay, Im kidding, but I can hope can't I?? Looking forward to seeing him play in the coming weeks/years...I hope he's ready for all of the attention he will get during/after his senior year.

  5. Is there any good techniques on improving my 40 yard dash?

I heard ankle weights would work pretty well, is this true and if so how much weight do I need and what kinda exercises should I do?

First, I would try to find an ATC or PT who had their CSCS (Strength & COnditioning Certification), for advice on techniques, exercises, etc.

Next, like anything (golf, for example) - the more you do it, the better you should get at it. So, simply sprint a lot! Also, train your "power" muscles or fast-twitch muscles with jumping, bounding, hills (up and downhill), any 'explosive' movements. Good strength training is always important. It is absolutely essential to become more flexible - i.e., lots of stretching.

Ask someone you trust like coach, trainer, etc. and make sure you are cleared by an MD. GOOD LUCK!
