  1. Last post for the day. Best of luck to the cavs. Looking foward to a great game with some great fans. We will see all ya'll back on here later. I'm sure after tonight, no matter how it comes to a close, nobody will have anything to be ashamed of. We are proud of our Cavaliers, as the Greenbrier community is of their Cats. Good luck to all.....be safe and have a great time! B)

  2. This is from someone who has seen both players in action and on film. Both played against our team. At least against us there was no contest. Herndon had a great day against our D and we almost shut Williams down. I do not see Herndon stopped by the Cav's defense...especially the way Page's backs ran right at them. A 5 man def line is not going to stop Herndon in the wing T....and Herndon is lightning fast.. Williams is very tough, but if he can't turn the corner GB def will hold him in check. Again this is not scientific by any means...but against us Herndon was much better.

Williams had very few touches against Page. Page was keying on him, so Crockett let their other backs step up to the plate (which they do very well). Williams is a great back and a great person. I also found out that Herndon is a junior where williams is a senior.....that will play a role in the decision of Mr. Football.

  3. About 1600 rushing, 350 recieving, and 27 TD's. Don't know the stats on defense.... he has a ton of tackles and several int's. Kicks and punts returned for TD's. Great player. Winner takes all.....just makes it that much more INTENSE!

  4. I believe friday night will play a huge role. Not only because of going head to head, but the team that goes to the next round gives their finalist an opportunity to rack up some more yards. Man this is going to be an awesome game. A lot of drama with a lot at stake. How do you think Herndon and Williams feel!!! WOW!

  5. cavcav,

I think I am going to leave Knoxville pretty early and meet all the guys by the RV about 4 or 5, whenever they get there.

I've been wearin' my marroon all week up here in K-Town, I won't put my orange back on until Saturday. There aint much else to say about this game that hasn't been said...but I've uncovered some statistical information that Cavalier fans should be wary of....

    Playoff Record:

    Home 11-1

Away 1-5 (includes state championship appearance)

Our boys have never traveled well in November and have been lucky to play a lot of home games in the Playoffs. Hopefully we can reverse this trend for one night in 2003...Go Cavaliers!

I said earlier I wouldn't post a score this week, but the temptation is too strong:

Crockett Co. 62 Greenbrier 59 in 6 OT

Alright guys...do I need to bring any food...or are ya'll gonna feed me for free?...don't make a poor college kid pay... :)

Lookin' forward to the best game I've seen this year (and I've been to UT/Bama and Maryville/Knox Central)...see ya'll Friday!

I was aware of those stats.....I wasn't going to post that though! :D

    6 OT's? My heart can't take that.......I'll be like Fred Sanford! :)

  6. Craig,

We will gladly buy the food, you just supply the gas for the RV.

Ya'll should just open up a concession stand at the RV outside the gate. All the Crockett fans can eat before we go in and we'll be paying for your gas. Don't feed the players though. I repeat....DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS!!! It might give them cramps.
