Best of Luck to the Rangers - Would love to see them extend their season just a little longer!!
-
Chambers is not certified to teach High school and some systems would not hire a coach if they couldn't teach in the school. The boardmember that's not happy, well there's alot not happy with him either. Don't think Tolley will leave Hampton and alot depends on what these teachers are certified to teach as to whether they would get hired or not - most systems are looking for good teachers as well as a good coach.

It a post like this that tells me an irate parent using this message board to air out his dirty laundry.
FACT:
Tyler McCann had a great state tournament and deserved the MVP. He would have never gotten that award if his teammates hadn't of fed him the ball. Rusty Chambers had 18 assist in the state tournament. How many was thrown to McCann for layups. How many did Cody Collins throw to Chambers or McCann? The rebounding of Josh Jones and Rusty Holtsclaw was so important. Without a big game from Derrick Cline in the opener, we wouldn't have made it to the second round.
Rusty Chambers would have never been all state or the second all time leading scorer at Unaka had it not been for unselfish teammates like McCann, Derrick Cline, Cody Collins, Josh Jones, Rusty Holtsclaw, Josh Lowe, the late Chris Arnold, Daniel McInturff and many others.
The same goes for all-time leading scorer Aaron Dugger. I could go on and on but the bottom line is; "basketball is a team game and it takes everyone stepping up and doing their job in order for the team to be successful."
The point I am trying to make is that "NO ONE PLAYER" is greater than the team and no team can have success with just one or two players doing it all. It's like taking the back off a stop watch. "EVERY" component has to be working correctly in order for that watch to keep perfect time. The same goes for a basketball team.
Their is so much more to the game than just scoring points. And each player always has something they can contribute that will make the team better.
On UNAKA 2004 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM their were no "SUPERSTARS." What you had was a group of kids that,
1. Lived in the gym
2. Didn't care who scored how many points, the bottom line was just win.
3. Team was put before self
And most importantly, bought into what the coach was trying to sell.
Go talk to any of these boys and ask them why they finished where they did.
The 2002, 2004 and 2005 trips to Murfreesboro came about because of hard work, dedication and a willingness to do whatever it took to win.
And to each of these past players, I challenge you to go and talk to this team before Friday's game. And Ranger77, If you don't like what see, keep your $5.00 and stay at home.
Amen Brother
Have to say that was a great post. Many do not realize how much time these boys spent in the gym as well as outside of the gym together. Everyone needs to get behind the Rangers and support their efforts - it's not easy playing when you feel that nobody is behind you and always finding fault. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Good Luck Rangers - I know you can make a run.

Not trying to stir the pot but there may be some coaching jobs in the east TN area. But like one said before, will not be posted until after the season or school year is over. Might just want to check the various systems and see what teaching positions are available and then inquire about coaching positions. Just trying to help.

And like you never get on other school's threads and get off subject and start stuff. Again the pot calling the kettle black.

This is the best post I've read in a long time. Its funny how most of your so-called Christians do the most finger pointing and place the most judgement. Well, when you all stand before God, you'll have a big time leg-striping. And He might just separate the wheat from the tares.
The pot calling the kettle black. You've done enough of both on here. (finger pointing and placing judgment) Also remember "if you don't have anything nice to say, just don't say nothing at all."

I've heard that coach mcclain is also going to elizabethton
Don't think so, since he isn't qualified to teach at the high school level.
-
Article in Eliz STAR didn't state anything about money - I think that's just speculation about what was paid before hand. Sheriff's office stated they cleared his name and was just a matter of poor judgement - Who knows, alot of things probably got lost in the translation before the investigation ever got started.

Best of Luck to the Rangers!

You are so FULL of yourself. One minute you talk about not getting anything started and the next you are trying to call somebody out. I understand you are excited that Cloudland beat Unaka... Okay. I'm not trying to get anything fueled and your call out is just too funny to comprehend. Why don't you grow up and then we'll talk.
-
You might want to take the advice you gave Rangerbook - just keep your mouth shut on this subject - it's none of your concern.
-
Congrats to the Rangers - they needed a good win.
-
Final score UH 73 - Cloudland 55 Woodacre had 27 (6-3's) King 19, Burton 15 - Looks like they didn't contain Woodacre too well.

You better watch out since this is for questions only and you people are stating facts. You'll get a big NOTE on your post. I think you need to take a chill pill if you think only people from Hampton are going to post and that SOME kind of discussion will not get started - GET REAL it's a chat board. DUH and I really don't think you are going to get coaches to answer questions on this board - players maybe. Don't worry last post on your precious thread.
-
On TSSAA Site Hampton has one championship and 2 runner-ups listed, don't know exactly how many times they have been to the state tournament.

Nobody is trying to protect a pedophile. My advice was to watch what you say because if you don't have proof or facts and you call specific names you can be held liable. No offense but alot of people know who you are and it wouldn't be hard for others to find out and you might just get a call you don't want. If the parents don't come forward to make something stick or it's not brought to the authorities attention then you best keep your mouth SHUT. I don't want this to happen or the persons responsible to get by with it anymore than the next person but you have to use common sense sometimes and I'm wondering if you have any with your bold print signatures. Sounds to me like your going to get your goose cooked by alot of people with all the comments you've been making. Sometimes it's better to observe than to speak.

Hey Rangerbook maybe you should spell the guy's name correctly if you are going to dis him and you might want to consider a little thing called "slander" since he has not been brought before the board or school system for any wrong doing. Just a thought.

With the way Temple is playing - I give them the edge.

KrispyKremeKarl agrees with All4God25. KrispyKremeKarl hopes the press, star or local news can get something published. KrispyKremeKarl heard today by an email that the board of education in Carter County brought the Cloudland thing to the limelight to serve as a cover for what's going on at Hampton. Oh well. KrispyKremeKarl is going to bed. KrispyKremeKarl has to make donuts in the morning.
Maybe KrispyKreme should be bringing this to the attention of Starman. Since he does work at the paper and covers sports, this might be of interest to him and his readers. Just a thought.

You are so right Karl. One would think that the same rules apply for all but that is not the case in Hampton. The team and community would be better off without him. There was an Aide in another part of the county who did LESS and was just put on administrative leave. Go figure.
Funny how that happens. Most will probably never know that this was just about to be brought to the public's attention and was then mysteriously silenced. Money Talks!!!
HOT NEWS ON COACHING CHANGES
in Boys Basketball
Posted
I have to agree with the others, there is too much politics right now to get anything done. I don't think there will be a coaching change at Hampton because of who they are and the pull they have. Time will tell if the "people's" voice will be heard on some of these changes. We also need to get better representation on our school boards as well as our county commissioners, but sometimes you can't get anyone qualified to run because they know how the system works and don't want to put up with the crap. We all need to remember that academics need to be made a priority and for alot of these kids sports keeps them active in their studies to make the grades to play, so really they go hand in hand. As far as coaches go, there are some good choices out there and probably some more not from around here that would like to be considered, but then again the "good ole boy" system keeps alot of people away. Let's just hope that some positive changes will come about in the near future that will benefit the kids.
