I have not heard a thing, just that it is open,and the only teaching position attached to the job is P.E./health. Barnhart mentioned lack of community involvement for a reason for leaving. If that is the case it just shows me another reason for the youth football camp we put on every year. We held it for a week from 8-3 Monday thru Friday. camp cost was 40 dollars and the kid got a t-shirt and we feed them lunch. I Think the last year I was there we had over 100 kids. It allowed us to do many things as far as the future of the program, but it got the parents involved with the hs program when parents kids were young instead of just the couple of years their kid was in hs. If Whitwell has stopped doing that, I suggest whoever takes over the program that they start doing the youth football camp again.

True, but who does not have their work cut out for them when they take over a program. However it can be very rewarding if you can turn a program around and move it in the right direction. Hard to blame coach Barger for taking the job in Georgia considering it was probably a 40k raise. I think he could have turned things around though. Good luck to clay county! pretty country and good fishing! should be a draw for right person.

I have coached against Coach Web and he is not only a quality person but a quality coach as well. he would draw a lot of kids to Central because of his people skills alone. I don't think they could really get someone that would do much better. I just cannot believe though that Coach Cook was not offered this job from the beginning. If he desires to do so coach Cook will make a fine head coach somewhere one day.

I don' t know the present coach, however I did look at Coach Grider as a mentor, I have a tremendous amount of respect for him and the program he and his staff have built in South Pittsburg. A lot of people look at him as being arrogant, but I see a man that is confident!, and His staff and players have always reflected that. Too me he is a hall of fame Coach, he seemed to always set the standard in 1A football.

All I can say Ambassador is that I will be coaching somewhere next year.

I think Barnhart is a good coach from what I have seen, and he will not have a problem finding another coaching job if that is what he chooses to do. If you were to make a move this would be the year to do it with all the jobs open, and when those are filled it will only open the door for someone else. Unfortunate for some but fortunate for others it just happens to be one of those years. I wish him luck in his future.

How are things going, has the head coach resigned. I thought they had a pretty good year.

Troll, I could not agree with you more. However they will pay a guy 400,000 to retire early then scream they have no money. Just because Rhonda Thurman did not like him. Then she stated that they could not give teachers a 500 bonus because they might have to let some teachers go if they did. Typical scare tactic for that side of politics. Every salary employee would have received 500 which would total 500k. Instead they give most of that money to one man. Go figure.

I worked under Coach Orr, he is a great coach. I could care less what his record is I just know how he takes care of his business. He ran a top notch program. Record does not define a coach. Take someone that goes to Sale Creek and goes 5-5 to me that would be outstanding. Go to South Pitt and go 7-3 or 6-4 and get ran off. When I was at Soddy he only had one coach on staff besides himself that worked there. In a 6A program, really? He is every bit as good as anybody else in this area. I have pretty much coached with or against most coaches in the Chattanooga area. Campbell is a good coach too.

I like Kevin Orr or Coach Campbell, If I wanted the job and was not even considered for it and wanted to be a head coach, I think I would have to move on if I were him.

Did Coach Kevin Orr coach there last year? If so I do not know how you build a better man or coach than him. I love him and his family. I have been in this business for a long time, I know hundreds of coaches, and I have never coached for a better man, and I have had the opportunity to coach under some great coaches. Not only does he impact the student athlete, but his coaches as well. I really learned a lot working under him. Red Bank should look no further if he is interested in the job. He knows what it is like to grow up hard, and that is exactly what the kids that want to come there to change their stars need. That district is one of the most competitive in the state, there are no give me. Coach Orr can get it done.

you are right troll, I do not know what I was thinking, those teams could not compete in that district. Thanks for setting me straight. Besides, why would those kids want to play against their next door neighbors?

I am going to say 7-3. I do not understand how Signal or Notre Dame is in that district. They should be with Red bank and Hixson and the like. Just wondering.

Dang Wingman, that is a long post for you. I don't have a problem with Ambassador myself, however I do understand where you are coming from. I really think that a FEW people that come on here are from Roman decent, because usually when I come on here I usually have one of them to try to crucify me. They are a minority, however very vocal. Most of the people I know don't come on here for that reason. My life has changed alot in the last year. If all you live for is to come on here and disparage someone else, you must have a sad existance. I have been a member for 12 years and I can honestly say I have never seen you do that Wingman, so if I was you, do as I do on here and don't worry about it. JMO.
