  1. The question that was asked at the beginning of the thread was what needs to be done to take a team to the next level? In my opinion, the first thing that has to be done is to develop great pitchers that can compete at the highest levels of our sport. In fast pitch softball pitching is the name of the game, and we have to continue to develop great pitching coaches and great pitchers. We're beginning to learn this, but we still have a long way to go to reach the level of pitching found on the West Coast..... Obviously, pitching is not the only important part of the game, but I believe it's easier to develop the other parts of our game than it is to develop great pitchers.
  2. Thomas struck out 15 in the game.
  3. I thought the tournament was exceptionally well run. All games were pretty much on schedule, the umpiring was fair and consistent, and the number of college coaches there was more than I expected. If our schedule allows, I will definitely bring my team again next Fall.
  4. Where are you holding the tryout/evaluation?
  5. We have 65 coaches already signed up for the free clinic. We will probably cut this off at 100, so if you have an interest, please let us know right away. Contact fhpauly@hotmail.com
  6. Wow, the response has been great. I am so glad to see so many coaches and parents taking advantage of this free clinic from Ernie Parker and friends. Remember the clinic is free, but you will need to register in order to reserve your spot. Please email your name, how many spots you need reserved, and whether you are a youth coach, high school coach, or college coach. Send your email to fhpauly@hotmail.com.
  7. Legendary Pitching Coach Ernie Parker, and an All*Star panel of experts will offer a free " Pitching Instructor's Clinic' on August 18th at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga indoor softball complex. This clinic begins at 9:00 AM and will conclude at around 6:00 PM. Joining Ernie on the panel will be University of Tennessee Pitching Coach Marty McDaniel, Alabama Pitching Coach Vann Stuedeman, UTC Pitching Coach Lacey Swarthout, Renowned Pitching Instructor Rick Pauly, Performance Training Specialist Marc Dagenais, NPF 2006 Most Valuable Pitcher Sarah Pauly, and more. You will not find a more expert panel anywhere in the region and it is 100% free. No Catch. This clinic is for pitching instructor's and coaches. The goal is to teach the proper mechanics of the fast-pitch pitching motion as to ensure efficient body moverments that minimize the potential for injury, and to promote "best practices" relative to the development of pitchers starting with beginners and progressing through the elite level. All pitching instructors are invited from the youth level to the collegiate level. There is no cost, but you do have to reserve your space. To register for this free clinic, please send an email to Coach Rick Pauly at fhpauly@hotmail.com.
