Loretto will be a hand full next year.  They have a Miss Basketball player in Ally Weathers, Ally Augustine will be a beast at one of our guard positions, our 2 six footers in Weathers and Chance will cause problems in the paint, plus our shooting guard Sanders will be back.  I've told people before this season our real run at the gold ball will be in 24/25 season.  We build some depth, and we will be a bear.  We expected this year's team to be very good.  We played the 3rd toughest schedule as per coach T and he did not count the state champs from Alabama and Mississippi.  Coach Rutledge will have this team primed for a run next year, so better not sleep on those Mustangs.  They seemed to get overlooked this year by most.

  2. Congrats to Gibson Co girls and Coach Wilkins.  When your 38 and 1 you must be a pretty good team and you proved it tonight.  I'm very proud of our Loretto Lady Mustangs on a great year and we'll be back next year.  The strength of our team returns and we are one year older, but on this night it was Gibson County.

Crazy things happen up here. Good to see you today and congratulations on a big win. That was a great game. Both teams played their hearts out. Nothing would surprise me tommorow. All AA games today were in the single digits. Good luck and good to see you again.

Good luck to you, but don't think you'll need it.  The ole ball coach will pull this one out !

  4. No one has been talking too much about the Loretto Lady Mustangs, so I'm thinking they may slip up on GP tomorrow.  I'm going with the Mustangs in a close one by 5 points.  Mustangs are playing well on defense and offense.

  5. Congrats to our Lady Mustangs on a very good win over a good Cheatum County team.  I think our girls are playing good right now and will be a tough out for anyone.  We are long in the tooth and create matchup problems for most teams.  We have paid a tough schedule to get here and the coaches have them ready for that next step.

  6. Great game Lady Mustangs !  Summertown you are a very good team and could it be that we both may get to state again?  We still have some great teams to get through, but both of these teams look good.  I do believe both teams make each other better.  Would not surprise me if we tee this game up again in region finals !

  7. I really believe that Class-AA is the toughest from 1-10 in all classifications.   There are so many really good teams around the state in this class.  The coaches and players are some of the best the state has to offer.  If your lucky to make the 8 getting to the Glass House, you better be ready to play or you might leave early.  Good luck to all your teams and hope to we get to see ya at Murfreesboro !

Pioneer it is one that it's hold on to your britches cause it's going to be a war.  Throw out the records and bring your lunch pale it's going to be a long day !  It was another wild game.  Loretto had a big lead, but here comes Summertown an they take the lead late.   Loretto then pulled it out at the end, but another wild one.

I hear Cannon County is pretty good in your Region. I didn't know until a few days ago that Cheatham County was in Huntingdon's Region. I would think Cheatham, Huntingdon, Summertown and Loretto favorites to be in substate. Heard Loretto and Summertown with another big battle last night. Probably the best rival in the state.

Region 5 and Region 6 have 4 of Coach T top ten 2-A girl basketball teams.  Loretto, Summertown, Huntingdon and Cheatham County will battle it out for 2 spots to the state.  There are other good teams in these regions, but these are at the top of my picks.  I'm not sure there is a tougher road to the state, but this will make for some fun watching basketball.

  11. Wayne County and Moore County will both be in the state in my opinion.  Loretto has played both and I feel that Loretto has a good shot to get to state.  They were both tough games that Loretto won, but showed me they belong in the top of class A.

They both are big, and they have very good inside outside games.  They are well coached too.

I think Summertown looked really good and Loretto looked solid too.  These 2 will make some noise and be a tough out late in the season.  Both teams are well coached and strong at all 5 starting positions with good bench players.  These young ladies have a high Basketball  IQ !  Really enjoyed watching them play .

little ol 1A moore county just beat huntingdon 55 to 24

Moore County has always had a strong girls program, so not too surprising.  I know you played Loretto, can you tell me how that game played out.  Was at other camp games, so can you give an update.

Huntingdon is tough no doubt. I think you could probably take GC, Huntingdon, Loretto, Summertown, South Side… and probably any of these can beat each other on a given day. All are great programs. I think Loretto got better as a team late last year. The game with GC could have definitely went either way. It was a Balboa Creed heavyweight fight. Loretto may have lost the game but they may have gotten better.

Two really good programs going at it.  At least it'll be the state if we see ole GC again !  lol !   Hope all is going well my friend.

Loretto is tough. JB Clifton is a big time shooter. I hope they get their PG back. They will be a handful. Y’all will likely have to play Loretto or Summertown in substate.

Hope Freed-Hardeman coach was watching  J B, she can absolutly  fill it up.   She's a player and if our 2 guard Libby Sanders can make it back it will give us another girl that can stroke the three ball.  Did not think we'd beat Huntingdon the way we did.  That is a very good program.

  16. You have to start with McMinn being the favorite going into this season.  Gibson will be tough again and York too.  I really like Loretto as a dark horse, especially if Libby Sanders makes it back from her illness.  They have 2 freshman coming in that will play and one is  6 foot Sophie Weathers, Lanie and Kenseys little sister.   Ally Weathers will be a beast,  JB Clifton will be one of the better guards in our classification, Libby was one of our best 3 point shooters and defenders, and with 6 foot sophomore post Raven Chance and another 6 foot sophomore Corbin that's getting over ACL surgery will be better after their freshman year.  We've got some good bench players for depth.  I really like our coaches too !

Man I have seen a ton of girls basketball games but I don’t think I have ever witnessed such a better basketball game. It was a Balboa Creed bout for sure. Credit to Ashley with a great coaching job especially after losing an All District PG. Same for Summertown. Great effort with so many injuries. These two proved tonight that they will be a handful sure enough next year. Ally Weathers was really good as was their whole team. So proud of our girls for keep battling back. All of them but especially Micah Hart and Evyn Cantrelle. What a performance. Never heard a game that loud at a HS venue. Unbelievable electric environment. Loretto, keep your heads up. Y’all are going to be bad trouble next year for all of us.

What a game between 2 traditionally rich programs.  It was good seeing you Pioneer and as always you all have another great team.  Hart and Cantrell shot lights out tonight and I wish they were both seniors. Lol !  We will miss our senior Lanie Weathers, but I like what all is coming back next season.  I hope our sophomore guard Libby Sanders will be back from her illness and our young 6 foot freshman post Mallory Corbin recovers from her ACL surgery.  They will really be a big part of the team next year.  The fans made the last night in the BARN special.  They were loud from tip off to final buzzer.  Good luck in State and hope to see you there next year in the Boro !

  18. Great job by our Lady Mustangs last night in their win !  We lost our starting guard going into last nights game with Sycamore due to an undetermined problem with her legs.   Keep Libby Sanders in your prayers please.  She was playing a such a high clip defensively and offensively.   Round 4 with the Lady Eagles on Wednesday night.   I'm not sure how many times we've played them the last 5 years, but it's a bunch.
