  1. This is from a real Milan fan. Through wins and losses. Huntington won the game and congrats to their strong defensive performance. However, you can't ignore the facts. Milan played the game without 4 key players. Brent Hansen, highly touted offensive linemen, Rowdy Treadwell, Fullback/MLB, 2 other offensive linemen, and Milan's best all-around player Brian Bledsoe did not see much action with a shoulder injury. And to compound things, Milan's Quarterback broke his collar bone in the first quarter. Tough to win a game on the road at Hunt. Milan has to rebound and look at the positives. Milan will be better once everyone recovers from injuries. Obviously. Milan has 4 strong running backs that run by committee. Defense will be the key this year. But I wont abandon Milan after the first game. Lost a close one, once again, at Hunt. with a roster full of injuries. Morris gets hammered every year for his play calling and what happens every year? He gets them to the playoffs. Milan fans, just get some popcorn, sit in the stand, and cheer. Shut your mouth about the play calling. I disagreed with alot of play calls tonight but I will still stand behind Morris because somehow he always has a successful season. I still believe Milan will win the Region but will be hard without, what seemed to be, a really good QB. But we'll see. Good job Hunt. Good luck the rest of the year.

P.S. Didnt really like the heisman dive into the in-zone by Hunt. Running back with no Milan players close to him. Just hope it dont come back around

Yeah, Weather's should've known better. He got caught up in the moment. But, live and learn. It made for the perhaps the most dramatic PAT in West TN Football history.

  2. I am glad that Milan doesnt play UC this year. Losing to a subpar team like that would be almost as bad as losing tonight. Morris must go. Clear the way for PA to coach the Bulldogs next year.

Man... chill... Milan was probably gonna have to forfeit this game anyway as it's early in the season.

  3. I wish Huntingdon had Morris. I am not the only Milan fan that hopes he gives way to PA Pratt to come home and coach.

Hey Pratt... You see what you will have to endure when you lose a game, especially to a Jackson Sun unranked team? I swear, Milan fans are so spoiled. You need a 5-5 season to make you appreciate the game again.

  4. Pitiful showing by the Bulldogs tonight. This will be a long season for Milan. Losing to their arch enemy on the 1 st night only bodes for bad things to come. No amount of victories can make up for this blunder. With our schedule, I am looking at 5-5 and missing afterthe playoffs like Huntingdon did last year. This game should be played late in the season so the loser wont pack it in even before any region games are played. Coach Morris is to blame for this blunder.

Yeah, Let's Fire Morris!! It doesn't matter that he's won two state titles. Going 7-9 to Huntingdon is unacceptable. Hey Morris! If you wanna go somewhere where you are appreciated, we'll call you when Mansfield retires.

  5. HUNTINGDON 20- MILAN 13 FINAL SCORE . CONGRATS TO THE STANGS ESPECIALLY WEATHERS, MACADAMS AND THAT #9 LINEBACKER. HE WAS A BEAST. COACH MORRIS DEFINTLEY HAD A BRAIN FART IN THIS ONE. I KNOW MY FELLOW MILAN FANS ARE GONNA RIDE ME ON THIS BUT MORRIS LOST THIS ONE FOR MILAN. HIS COACHING PHILOSOPHY WAS BASSAKWARDS IN THE 2ND HALF. MANSFIELD HAD HIM FIGURED OUT FROM THE GUN OF THE 2ND HALF. NO GUTS-NO GLORY. MORRIS DEFINITELY DIDN'T HAVE THE GUTS TONITE AND HUNTINGDON GOT THE GLORY!

No, Morris coached a fine game "tonite". Huntingdon just outworked them. Letting Weather's score that last TD was genius.

  6. Ok, no need to jump off of the deep end. Milan is fine. They were worn out, fair and square and the QB being healthy more probably wouldn't have made a difference. Huntingdon lost their first game last year, and they never quite rebounded. Maybe that will happen to Milan, but not likely. They'll be back. Speaking of being back... How about those Mustangs!?!

    THE MUSTANGS ARE BACK!

  7. I know they came up a little short but the 2003 Milan Bulldogs were very good.

Can't believe I'm saying this but... You could argue that Milan actually had a better team than Huntingdon in 2003.

Huntingdon had a better team than Milan though in 1998. That's what makes the rivalry great.

My vote goes to this years Alcoa team if they go through the playoffs as expected. If not, then last year's Alcoa team.

  8. Here's hoping this kid's parents come along and take the internet away from him. You need to go do your spelling homework.

Bohica, I understand. I root for Mckenzie every time they aren't playing Huntingdon. (I kinda... live in Mckenzie now) I'm gonna have fun with this kid and his "OMG's" and "H-towns". Actually, I'm glad he doesn't write out Huntingdon, he would probly misspeell that two.

  9. Mckenzie boy, Glad you were there last night. Because that was a rivalry game. What ya'll have with Huntingdon... that's not a rival. You think Huntingdon is a rival, but if you went last night you saw what a real rivalry is all about. Compare last night to the Mckenzie game a couple of weeks ago.

  10. You just might want to check back 4-5 years before you make that comment. There were a couple of years that the Rebels put out teams that put ya'll out in the playoffs on our way to the semi's (one year directly and one year indirectly)! We really don't need a &!$$ing contest on here. We know the Mustang history. We aren't even trying to say we have a better history. But, we do have what is ours and you aren't taking that away from us no matter what you say.

Yep, the worst two seasons Huntingdon has had in the last Fourteen. When a Huntingdon team loses to Mckenzie. They become one of the worst teams in Huntingdon history. They may have a 10-1 record when they lost to Mckenzie, they are still one of the worst teams in Huntingdon history.

For years, we were in direct competition with each other and this crap didn't show up 'till about two weeks before "the game".

What makes this season any different?????

Honestly, the internet makes it easier than ever to talk smack to fans from other schools. I know it's been around for a few years now, but it's still pretty new when talking about High School football history.

And about Kegan. Nobody in Huntingdon didn't want Kegan. Huntingdon wants to keep every player. It doesn't matter if you are an all-state running back, freshmen on the sidelines, or fan in the stands. You are a part of something in Huntingdon and you will be embraced. Um... embraced metaphorically of course.

  11. Bruceton was the first team in Carroll County to win a state championship. They did it with class and won it years before Huntingdon ever won a playoff game. Not only that, but they smacked Huntingdon around in the 90s. They never gloated about it or made degogatory comments about Huntingdon players.

Dude, where were you in 1989? Have you ever been to Bruceton? This is the same town that put blue and white paint all over the courthouse in Carroll County.

Also, they only played Huntingdon 4 times in the 90s. They won three of them. Congratulations.

They remind me of that Bowling for Soup song.

"They're still preoccupied with 19.... 19... 1989." Ok, so the song is 1985. But, you get the point.

Huntingdon has one state championship--- and a couple of "runner ups (anyone can be runner up)

It's so easy, yet Mckenzie hasn't done it. Oh well, they never been this loaded in the student section before. So, I wish them the best. (There, happy now?)

Huntingdon fans never get the chance to root for Mckenzie during games because their season always ends way before Huntingdon's does.

Seriously, I root for Mckenzie every time they take the field and they aren't playing Huntingdon. They are like a little brother who you beat up on but you want to see them get bigger and stronger so they can stick up for themselves.

  12. this year, the McKenzie Maniacs (aka the student section) has a large number of returning seniors, which will be in full force starting with our first game at Trenton.

Whoa? Mckenzie is talking about how many returning seniors it has to its...... Student Section!?!? Oh mah gaw... That's funny. I'm sure everyone is scared to play Mckenzie now to hear that they are that loaded this year.

  13. Until Milan builds a new stadium at the high school, they should not be allowed to host an event like this. They just simply do not have the facilities. Last night's game was great, for those who paid and could see it. Long lines at the port-o-potties. (They shouldn't even need to bring in those things) No toilet paper in the restrooms (So I was told, I never was able to get into one) Eat out of town before you go, forget trying to get anything at the game. And parking.... don't get me started. As a matter of fact, if you are on the road and have to pass through Milan, you may want to try to find a way to by-pass it when there is a game going on. The entire city turns into a parking lot. A football stadium in the middle of town might've worked in the 1800s when it was built, but they really need something new over there.

  14. That's pretty odd. I could have sworn, about 3 weeks ago, or even as recently as a week ago, that Alcoa, Rockwood, David Lipscomb, and Goodpasture were all top 5 in the AP State Poll. But then again, I reckon I just don't get it. Haven't exactly heard enough about Huntington to make a comment about the score yet. Any intelligent breakdowns of the team would be appreciated.

West TN teams always get shafted in the polls. We have really only one media outlet covering us, that's The Jackson Sun. Commerical Appeal sticks strictly to the Memphis teams. When one of our teams are ranked really high, you better beleive that's a really special team. I hope we are as big of underdogs as we were last year.

  15. To Camden: I sold your team short. I thought Camden was benefit to a lot of hype and they enjoyed a weak schedule. I was very impressed with your team. I think my 27-7 prediction was a little off. You have a very good team that I really do not look forward to seeing again. Good Luck the rest of the year.
